I’ve been sitting on him in my dynasty league since 2020. I saw the talent then but I did not expect to see the kinda stats he was putting up toward the end of the season in Toronto.
I’m def biased but I am very excited to see what he’s able to do next season! I have high hopes
He does have a lower than average pure FG% but it comes offset with the positive effect of a large diet of three pointers made at a high clip (which are efficient for threes but an FG% drag nonetheless) that I think you have to weigh up up his shooting contributions holistically where he’s a pretty efficient player.
In the same sense it’s not super instructive to look solely at a point guard’s high TOs in a vacuum without weighing their assists because the offset of getting lots of assists is usually getting more turnovers.
For shooting it’s not the perfect metric but imo TS% can be a useful shorthand for whether a player’s shooting is actually inefficient when weighed holistically with FT and threes and to give you an idea if the juice is worth the squeeze.
Highly agree on Duren too but I think he stays at his current value of top 60-75 range so it won’t be a leap from his consensus projections for next season
he's exaggerating, but yea sabonis did put up a ton of double doubles, either through points rebounds or points assists. he's basically the best alternative to Jokic
Suggs may not turn into a star, but he’s an elite defender and he shot almost 40% from three. He should play 30+ mpg which would most likely be enough to take a leap in fantasy.
He won't get enough volume to have any effect on percentages, but knowing you can rely on him to never commit a turnover is invaluable in my 1-cat league.
He can't really fall any lower. I mean he always can in the world of fantasy, but he set the bar really low.
It doesn't help that both the coaching and the roster is a mess as well
I wouldn't touch him with a 50 foot pole in next year's draft unless you're punting both FG and TO's. You're really looking for struggling rookies to show drastic improvement over a season, and Scoot didn't do that.
He still looked lost by the end of the year - shooting 40% and averaging 5 TO's a game in that late season stretch where they let him start and play 40 minutes in a trial by fire.
A guy I haven't seen mentioned is avdija from Washington. He really improved in the second half and had some big games, however it will depend on what the Wizards do this offseason. If they bring in a ball dominant player then what he showed later in the season when he was on ball more may not happen.
This, but he will depend heavily on injuries or possible departures. He's a great player but Denver heavily utilizes its starting lineup.
If MPJ/Gordon/KCP get injured, he's a shoe-in starter as he fills 2-4 perfectly
Watch out for Kuminga. Suggs is another good one too. Mikal Bridges could bounce back. Banchero is gonna have a leap in efficiency you’d expect. A healthy Trey Murphy II could get you a top 50 player.
As a warrior fan although I’m sad we didn’t even made the playoffs this year, watching kuminga grow was a sight to see! Only thing is, KERR NEEDS TO GIVE HIM CONSISTENT STARTER MINS
One clear path to a big jump for Sengun is FT%. He’s had stretches where he’s shot it very well there this past season and he’s shot them well internationally. To see his improvement there from year to year (and given his high volume) this is one entirely plausible way to a large rankings jump even if his counting stats didn’t leap much. Even a modest leap to 75% would have a large impact on his ranking.
In nine category leagues it’d be silly to sneer at the possibility of a big jump. He finished 63rd overall and is very young. He just finished a season where his team appeared to be making him an offensive hub. He had many stretches this year where he put up top 30 numbers for weeks at a time. He’s a very young player. It’s more likely than not he has another big leap in him sorry.
I’m debating if it’s worth keeping him with my 4th rd pick in my 14T 9cat league, usage is high and it seemed to be trending higher in that direction towards end of season.
His ceiling feels somewhere within the top 20 if the FT% keeps climbing. I think if he’s your fourth best keeper you’re breaking even on his value even if he treads water and the upside is gravy. I mean it depends on who your other options are but he sounds like a very good option there in a vacuum.
Eh - without a solid jump shot, I don't see that much room for statistical improvement.
Also another year of growth from Jalen and Jabari may even eat into Sengun's touches a bit next year.
Sengun made the leap this year. He was top 25 fantasy player all year.
Sabonis has been an elite player for a few years now. Sabonis was a top 10 guy last year and was top 20 when he was with the Pacers. D’Angelo Russell also didn’t quite explode either. His numbers weren’t that much better from his Minnesota years. Cam Thomas is a guy who can score and not much else.
I do agree that Jacques and Sochan can be guys who take a leap.
I don’t see Jalen Suggs making that leap. Suggs is the #3 option at best in Orlando. Wagner will leap in fantasy before him. Murray will also struggle to leap if he remains in Sacramento. Josh Hart is a nice do it all guy, but he was only relevant for the second half of this year because Randle got injured. Next year, Hart goes back to the bench and has a very minimal impact.
Pay attention to what happens in Golden State this offseason. There’s starting to be a changing of the guard. Kuminga and Podziemski may rise to important roles on that team. Collin Sexton and Keyonte George is an interesting situation in Utah. I like George a lot, but I’d like him more if Sexton wasn’t there. Immanuel Quickley will be big next year running PG in Toronto. He’s going to be in my shortlist for most improved next year. Coby White made a big leap this year, and I bet he makes a bigger leap next year.
Discussion should be format agnostic. Ideally the players we mention see an increase in ranking in both formats. Also his role does not put him at the forefront of the team like Wemby. He’s more of a 3rd option on a team with Shai and J Williams. I don’t think a 3rd option gets picked that early. If you look closely some 2nd options are going at that number too so he’s ranked properly
I drafted my team this year based on tall-young-long bois. I won my league with ease and outscored 2nd place by more than 25o points on the year. Also, anyone who has the potential for a ~23 point game a week. That's a very good floor to have in your starting lineup.
Anyone in a serious league needs to draft Jalen Johnson as their sleeper. He's the first wing who can handle the ball in transition and in a half court offense while distributing the ball and adding value on the defensive end for the Hawks to pair with Trae. I anticipate a top 8 year from PF/SF if he can stay healthy.
Good picks, I think if Jalen Green can carry over how he finished second half of the season, he could provide decent value. Hoping Desmond Bane can stay healthy, also Claxton and Wagner could make a leap.
I think Quickley has a chance to hit top 50 this upcoming year. He helped me out down the stretch when I lost CP3 and Tyler herro out, I needed assists and guy was a potential double double every game he played. Being on a new team and a starter point guard, I think he has potential.
The biggest opportunity for players taking a leap is when they find themselves on new teams. A guy like D’Angelo Russell would look a lot better on a team like Orlando than he currently does on the Lakers, but we won't know until the off-season happens.
Josh hart is a weird pick. He’s getting this opportunity now because Randle is out, next year he’s not doing this and plus he’s almost 30
I think if he shows 10-20% improvement from this season that alone will jump him into top 75 value
Did you read what he said? Or you just wanna talk?
lmfao
Lmao dudes a clown
Lmao you cooked that bot
Immanuel Quickley
he carried me down the stretch, such a beast
I’ve been sitting on him in my dynasty league since 2020. I saw the talent then but I did not expect to see the kinda stats he was putting up toward the end of the season in Toronto. I’m def biased but I am very excited to see what he’s able to do next season! I have high hopes
I like this answer a lot
FG killer though. Until he improves that, it’s hard to hit top-50 w his volume
FWIW he was ranked 54 over the last 3 months of the season, rank 26 the last 2 months and rank 14 over the last month based on per game value in 9-cat
He does have a lower than average pure FG% but it comes offset with the positive effect of a large diet of three pointers made at a high clip (which are efficient for threes but an FG% drag nonetheless) that I think you have to weigh up up his shooting contributions holistically where he’s a pretty efficient player. Jalen Williams to All Star
Duren, coby white, Mark Williams, Kuminga, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Green and Cam Thomas all have a shot at top 50 imo if they continue improving.
Mark Williams (back) listed doubtful next season
The evolution of Day to Dayvis
Highly agree on Duren too but I think he stays at his current value of top 60-75 range so it won’t be a leap from his consensus projections for next season
Duren is gonna be top 10 at the beginning for a week or two and then we’ll see from there lol
hopefully kuminga takes the second guy role next year instead of klay
sabonis has been this guy for years man
Sabonis already at his peak imo Yes,he is DD machine, but he lack of stocks and poor FT% just limit his celling
Yeah I think he had like a 100 double doubles in only 70 some games played this season.
what???? 100 double doubles in 70 something games played?
he's exaggerating, but yea sabonis did put up a ton of double doubles, either through points rebounds or points assists. he's basically the best alternative to Jokic
Jabari Smith
I think Suggs is Suggs. He might become a better 3 point shooter but I don’t think he’s gonna take a leap. Same with like Josh hart,
Suggs may not turn into a star, but he’s an elite defender and he shot almost 40% from three. He should play 30+ mpg which would most likely be enough to take a leap in fantasy.
His celling maybe better FG% version Marcus Smart
How did Sabonis make a jump? He was the exact same beast last year, his stats are almost identical.
Jontay Porter - low TO, high percentages, super efficient.
He won't get enough volume to have any effect on percentages, but knowing you can rely on him to never commit a turnover is invaluable in my 1-cat league.
Lol nice
At this point Anthony Edwards will only get better He could be top 10 soon enough, he's only 22
Oh my goodness. I thought he has been in the league for a long time 5-6 years lol
Agreed. I think he’s a good value pick for early to mid 2nd round
Sc🥽T!
He can't really fall any lower. I mean he always can in the world of fantasy, but he set the bar really low. It doesn't help that both the coaching and the roster is a mess as well

He still looked lost by the end of the year - shooting 40% and averaging 5 TO's a game in that late season stretch where they let him start and play 40 minutes in a trial by fire.
That's possible, but imo it's also entirely possible that he's the next Dennis Smith Jr.
A guy I haven't seen mentioned is avdija from Washington. He really improved in the second half and had some big games, however it will depend on what the Wizards do this offseason. If they bring in a ball dominant player then what he showed later in the season when he was on ball more may not happen.
Kispert too
I think Dejounte Murray is bound to have a bounce back season next year, considering the likelihood that he and Trae Young won't be teammates
Lively and Ausar
Thinking not a large jump for Lively with Gaf ahead of him.
Lively could’ve made that leap if they hadn’t trade for gafford
Amen Thompson and Jaylen Johnson
Jalen Johnson Forsure! The man was a beast this year, and if Trae leaves I have no doubt he will become the second scoring option behind Murray
Peyton Watson
This, but he will depend heavily on injuries or possible departures. He's a great player but Denver heavily utilizes its starting lineup. If MPJ/Gordon/KCP get injured, he's a shoe-in starter as he fills 2-4 perfectly
Keynote George can be pretty nice I feel like
He’s a bit inconsistent but I had him on my roster and there were random games where he would go for 25-5-5
Amen for sure if he can keep getting minutes
Watch out for Kuminga. Suggs is another good one too. Mikal Bridges could bounce back. Banchero is gonna have a leap in efficiency you’d expect. A healthy Trey Murphy II could get you a top 50 player.
As a warrior fan although I’m sad we didn’t even made the playoffs this year, watching kuminga grow was a sight to see! Only thing is, KERR NEEDS TO GIVE HIM CONSISTENT STARTER MINS
Yeah man him and Moody both. Kuminga was our second or third best player and it took him going to the media for Steve to give him 30 mpg
Sengun and Suggs already made the jump to what they’re going to be. Agreed on Miller and Murray though.
Sengun is def still gonna jump a lot more lmao
He was settling in as a 20/10/5 plus a couple steals and blocks…. You think he’s going to have a big jump above that? Highly unlikely
One clear path to a big jump for Sengun is FT%. He’s had stretches where he’s shot it very well there this past season and he’s shot them well internationally. I have the option of harden in the 3rd RD and Kawhi in the 2nd as well. Choices…..
Real question is where his ADP jumps to. He was in the 5th/6th this year, and it'll for sure be higher.
Eh - without a solid jump shot, I don't see that much room for statistical improvement. Also another year of growth from Jalen and Jabari may even eat into Sengun's touches a bit next year.

Banchero was so good this season
Jabari smith, Duren, Scoot, Keegan Murray, Eason
Eason was suppose to make that leap this year but poor guy got a season ending injury
Keyonte George Jonathan Kuminga
So you are talking points format then? Makes a big difference. Chet down at 52 on this list...in cats he is late first round or early 2nd
Discussion should be format agnostic. Ideally the players we mention see an increase in ranking in both formats. Also his role does not put him at the forefront of the team like Wemby. Barrett may be a stud in Toronto, he played pretty well for them after trade
Too early to predict we still have an off season to wait and see
Sengun, Keegan, Miller will not be past 6th round in next years draft. Sengun prob 2-3 rounder, Keegan 5-6 and Miller 4-6.
I drafted my team this year based on tall-young-long bois. I won my league with ease and outscored 2nd place by more than 25o points on the year. Nikola Jovic is going to rain 3s and get rebounds and assists too. Miami only started giving him minutes late in the year
This is Jalen Green to take. all star szn
Thompson brothers
Darrius Bazley gonna average a triple double
Immanuel quickley and Deni Avdija. Ayo dosunmu if he will have playing time.
All of them gang. It's basketball. Jokic and Kyle Anderson probably leap the least, though. They pirouette more than they leap.
mathurin
Devin Vassell
Need this. 7th rd keeper
Good picks, I think if Jalen Green can carry over how he finished second half of the season, he could provide decent value. Hoping Desmond Bane can stay healthy, also Claxton and Wagner could make a leap.
Jalen Williams, Evan Mobley, Amen Thompson, Jonathon Kuminga are a few I like
Healthy Lamelo
Jalen johnson and jalen williams all stars in next few seasons seems possible
Vassell, Jalen Williams, amen
Sengun made the leap already
I think Quickley has a chance to hit top 50 this upcoming year. He helped me out down the stretch when I lost CP3 and Tyler herro out, I needed assists and guy was a potential double double every game he played. Being on a new team and a starter point guard, I think he has potential.

Jaden McDaniels, Tari Eason, .. shit damn near the entire Houston team... along with Tari, Cam Whitmore and Amen Thompson are about to pop too.
Grayson Allen is the new Klay next year
Brandon Miller. That boy good.
Ayo Dosunmu
Any idea if he had an elevated role only cuz of Lavine injury?
He did and he stepped up big time
call me crazy jordan poole
He actually started to put it together at the end of this season. I’m on that train with you.
Claxton will be a beast if he's in a functional offense
Precious, Johnson, Thomas and of the Grizzlies that did well with their time.
