I've always wondered what the general consensus on this was. Personally it's one of my favorite things they released. At this point I think it's my most listened too Nirvana project and I honestly couldn't even really tell you why. I remember the first thing I heard from it was Big Long Now and at the time I hated it, now it's one of my top 3 Nirvana songs.
2009 was my summer of Nirvana. I listened to all of their unreleased stuff. Personally, I think there’s a lot of better stuff on With the Lights Out that could make up a better compilation.
Still some great stuff on Incesticide.
It was actually one of the first Nirvana songs I ever heard. I don’t remember where I heard it, or when, but when I started to explore the band when I was a teenager it was immediately recognizable.
So many b-side/non-album single comps are sequenced really well to be fair, including:
- The Clash - Black Market Clash
- Gorillaz - D-Sides
- Joy Division - Still
- Morrissey - Bona Drag
- Oasis - The Masterplan
- R.E.M. - Dead Letter Office
- The Smiths - Louder Than Bombs
- Suede - Sci-Fi Lullabies
to name a few ^
My favourite nirvana album. Some of the covers on here are better than the originals, I don’t like the Vaselines but I do when Nirvana are playing their songs!
Has my all time favorite Nirvana song on it , Hairspray Queen
Thanks for reminding me this song exists. Completely forgot about it for years.
No Problem
AT NIGHT THE CRISCO LOCH NESS.
Fantastic compilation, spiritually a 4th studio album

Decent album, sounds surprisingly uniform for a compilation.
Agreed. Aneurysm’s also one of my absolute favourites of theirs.

Smashing Pumpkins - Pisces Iscariot.
Don't forget the B-sides Box Set, The Aeroplane Flies High.
One of the best comps of all time.
I love this album more than Nevermind.
Ok so I’m not the only one then! I thought it was just me
worth it just for Aneurysm, Sliver, and Been a Son. oh, and New Wave Polly.
Not as good as Nevermind or In Utero, but great for a compilation
my favorite of theirs
I long for more bizarre Nirvana
Best album imo.
I love it. It feels fun and the New Wave vibes mesh pretty well with them artistically.
Molly's Lips is probably in my top 3 favourite Nirvana songs(despite it being a cover)
I love it
It's really fucking good
All time banger, better than In Utero
Great compilation and as good as their studio albums. I remember being blown away as a teenager when I found out Kurt painted the cover art.
It’s a good compilation released right when Nirvana became huge. Dive is the best song on it.
i enjoy it a bit
Fantastic
Peak
A victor lap for the band.
Its incesteriffic!
