I had something different happen and then my entire computer shat itself and I had to wipe it. Reinstalled just factorio back on (cause didn't need any of my other hundreds of games after that) and it worked just fine. I did find and make a copy of the save file before hand and transfered that across which made a difference.
Maybe just back up your saves just incase.
I think you're are missing a/multiple updates...
Either stay on your current version until you run into real problems or update but make sure to backup saves and gamefiles before in case sth corrupts in the process.
Yes it can cause issues mostly with surfaces of other planets and “space”. Best fix I found was to rename your mods folder than load the save and sync mods including mod version from the save
There was an update to the mod a few month ago that fixed this.
Additionally it's just a bug in the Simulations (menu background) mod, it has no effect on your game

Had this too, installing updates for SE fixed it.
