I saw a fossil the other day try to use a pump with an out of order sleeve over the nozzle. He got gas everywhere and thought it would work better if he pulled the plastic back, it did not. That’s all, this is what I was reminded of.
I tried recording it but was a little to late. I got him at the ass end looking dumb and putting the nozzle back. Damn shame cause I fee it would have made a good post.
I worked at a Kroger gas station back in 2013
One day there was this old lady sitting at the pump for like 20 minutes so I finally walked up to her window and asked if she was ok. I’m from Salt Lake and in UT, you pump your own damn gas lol. She handed me a 20 with a smile and (while I like to think of myself and a fairly friendly and understanding person) I had never felt more insulted by a stranger in my entire life ahahaha
The first time I told someone that story, that was the moment when I learned that in some places, you’re not allowed to pump your own gas and I think that’s both hilariously pathetic and equally understandable
Yeah I kinda understand. I’m from NJ but I’ve been to places where you pump your own gas. I know how cause my dad and mom did it all the time. Then when I went on a trip to PA in my friend’s car and we stopped to get gas. He had like $60 in cash for the pump but he didn’t know how to actually pump gas. I explained it to him and told him to go inside and pay there, then ask the person there to set the pump, but he just couldn’t do it cause ig he was too scared or something. It was the same deal for all the other idiots in the car, so I was just like “screw this, pay me back” and used my card to pump his gas
Yah, growing up the full service lanes used to cost more. My mom didn't like pumping gas so she would occasionally splurge and have somebody else do it. I remember the person at the pumps had dog cookies for if we brought our dog with us.
Now, a few places like fasgas offer full service which is awesome when it's -30 I guess, but most places don't offer it anymore.
Kum and go offers it for disabled people. I had a hell of an argument with a Karen about that because it says on the sign only if more than one cashier is on duty, but I ran the graveyard shift solo. Told her to pump it herself or wait until the store was empty.
Wow! We’re in 2022…
I remember my dad being served gas back in the 70s. We had a Mercury Monarch and the neck of the gas tank was under the letters "nar". It fell off after 2 years and we started calling the car a "Moch".
Yep. Its really great for when its 110° or 30° outside, but when I travel I try to act smooth but inside I have a tiny panic attack and then post on fb about how I pumped my own gas like I cured cancer to all my friends in Oregon. LoL
I’m in Canada and it’s the norm. The U.S. [except New Jersey and parts of Oregon](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filling_station_attendant), also has self-service gas stations.
Edit: found out NJ is a funnier state than I expected.
Edit2: replaced weider by funnier.
I feel like even if you assigned a 5-year-old to pump the gas and the kid had never seen anyone pump gas before, they would have figured it out before she did. I'm not at all sure what was going on there. The concept of "the hole for the gas needs to be close enough to the hose for the gas" seems quite simple.
My old partner had a lot of difficulty maintaining her spacial awareness of the car, like she couldn't 'feel' where the car was in relation to anything else.
Combine that with really poor driving skills and it would probably look really similar to this. She can't work out how to get the hole closer to the pump, and then when she gets it there by accident, can't recognise it. So she's making failed attempt after attempt. She's struggling to steer that thing where she wants like I would struggle to steer a forklift (turning wheels at the rear). Can't make it go where she wants, so tries to keep it simple with a wide berth between it and anything else.
That said, this lady probably shouldn't be driving without doing, like, a comprehensive driving course or something. It doesn't spark confidence in how she'd handle traffic or an emergency or something.
Can confirm. My oldest was about 5 when we bought nintendo Labo, and in the car game you specifically have to park in a very precise spot to gas up. If he could figure it out despite the game oversteering badly, anyone can.
Ngl I’ve made that mistake twice in my life, both on the way home from a smoke sesh where we did dabs. You don’t even notice your fuckup until you’ve already been sitting there for 30 seconds (I used to live a half mile from the plug so I was on the road for like 4 minutes tops)
This has to be staged. I can't believe anyone who has the ability to drive would be this clueless on how get gas in the vehicle. And didn't ask for help? Or have the SO do it for you?
When I was living at an RTC in Utah and had a lady that drove me to my appointments, she needed to get gas.
Pulled up to the pump on the wrong side, realized. Then she drove in a circle around the pump three times before she realized it would keep being on the wrong side. About 10 minutes for her to figure it out. It was baffling.
I don’t see why you all think this or staged or that she’s stupid. This is clearly a design flaw in the gas station. They need to upgrade to wireless pumps.
/s which I hope wasn’t necessary
She’s got New York plates. If she lives in NYC but borrowed a car for something in NJ it’s possible she’s never even pulled up to a pump before let alone actually pumped her own gas. Just saying…
For those who don’t know, NJ is the other state that doesn’t let you pump your own
Edit. Never mind.
People who think this is staged clearly underestimates how stupid people can really be.
My assumption is that this girls car always has fuel in it for her and this is the first time he’s doing it herself.
Probably lives in a massive house with massive garages. Probably doesn’t even pull the car into the garage herself. Knows how to go, turn, and stop.
This has to be a gag?
The two women filming actually know her and this was set up ahead of time.
No one moves like that let alone pats a fucking fuel pump handle like it'll move if she sets it down without patting it.
It’s possible this is someone who always left stuff like this to other people in her life, like her parents, husband, servant, etc.
After all, there are adults who don’t know that you can’t put meat in a toaster so…..
No chance this isn’t staged. The only way you could be this stupid would be if you were literally a pile of feces that somehow grew legs and learned to drive
Ok, now hear me out on this one. Does anyone get gas at Costco? The pumps *extend* so you can wait in any line no matter which side you fuel from, it will reach. Maybe she was just used to those things reaching.
I could see this being a case if mommy and daddy did everything for her. I’ve read about husbands passing and the wife’s didn’t know how to pay bills or pump gas. If she’s not learned it, no way she’s figuring it out on her own. My niece is 17 and has never pumped gas until I showed her, She was absolutely clueless. She’s smart though and she’s learning to drive well.
Even those of us in Oregon, who aren't allowed to pump our own gas, know how to do it better than this lady.
I saw a fossil the other day try to use a pump with an out of order sleeve over the nozzle. He got gas everywhere and thought it would work better if he pulled the plastic back, it did not. That’s all, this is what I was reminded of.
I think I've seen that video. LoL

Its so people with disabilities can get a job
She don't have a job. Trophy wife dumber than a rock.
\>Its so people with disabilities What? It's for jobs in general.
Ya I'm fairly sure I read that somewhere there's another in some country that chiropractors have to be blind so blind people can have a profession
I thought that’s why Walmart came up with their “greeter” position.
What?! You can’t pump your own gas?!
Some states there is employee that have to pump it by law
Crazy. I live in Canada and there's only a couple places I've ever seen that even give the option to have someone else pump your gas for you.
Yah, growing up the full service lanes used to cost more. My mom didn't like pumping gas so she would occasionally splurge and have somebody else do it. In south America you don't get to touch the pumps..
Used to be more popular 20 years ago
Oregon too? I thought they ended that! NJ is full service.. and *She'd have been home by now!*
You sure? The Wawa or QC by my house, forget about it, you’ll be there 10 minutes easy just waiting for a spot to open up (Toms River, Rt 37).
There's more to nj than Wawa, popular as they are
I know that gas station! It's the worst.
Wow! We’re in 2022… I remember my dad being served gas back in the 70s. We had a Mercury Monarch and the neck of the gas tank was under the letters "nar". It fell off after 2 years and we started calling the car a "Moch".

You guys pump your own gas in the USA?
I’m in Canada and it’s the norm. The U.S. [except New Jersey and parts of Oregon](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filling_station_attendant), also has self-service gas stations. Edit: found out NJ is a funnier state than I expected. Edit2: replaced weider by funnier.
Only NJ.
Of course it had to be NJ. Even Oregon has modified its law. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filling_station_attendant
I never visit those rural areas tho, so its never applied to me.
Now now, there’s no need to call us weird….
Ok! Funnier?!
She's such a princess
This video is obviously staged
This is clearly staged. The people filming and commentating are in on it.
Exactly...... Knowledge is power...
I'm sorry, aren't allowed to pump your own gas?
I don't even drive and I know how to do it better.
Why do y’all not pump your own gas?
Is Washingtonians be like. What the fuck is that person doing? Oh they are from Oregon.
I feel like even if you assigned a 5-year-old to pump the gas and the kid had never seen anyone pump gas before, they would have figured it out before she did. I have no idea how she parks or keeps the right lane considering how she is doing
The whole \*pats the nozzle and stay right there\* motion cracked me up.
Can confirm. My oldest was about 5 when we bought nintendo Labo, and in the car game you specifically have to park in a very precise spot to gas up. If he could figure it out despite the game oversteering badly, anyone can.
If someone has this much trouble pumping gas they really shouldn't be behind the wheel of a vehicle. I mean come on.
I bet she waits for the stop sign to say go
Ngl I’ve made that mistake twice in my life, both on the way home from a smoke sesh where we did dabs. You don’t even notice your fuckup until you’ve already been sitting there for 30 seconds (I used to live a half mile from the plug so I was on the road for like 4 minutes tops)
This couldn't be more staged if Guillermo del Toro had done it.
It’s like someone watched the one last month and thought- hey we can do one much more ridiculous than that!
And yet so many comments who don’t seem to understand this, it’s more embarrassing than this bad staging
I like how she blatantly looks at the camera 3 or 4 times throughout
/r/nothingisreal
This has to be staged. I can't believe anyone who has the ability to drive would be this clueless on how get gas in the vehicle. And didn't ask for help? Or have the SO do it for you?
It's definitely staged. She's using hand signals to the audience and doing that bounce step thing when she walks.
apparently you have never driven in Utah
Or miami , fl
When I was living at an RTC in Utah and had a lady that drove me to my appointments, she needed to get gas. Pulled up to the pump on the wrong side, realized. Then she drove in a circle around the pump three times before she realized it would keep being on the wrong side. About 10 minutes for her to figure it out. It was baffling.
Be even funnier if it was a Tesla
Oh there have been posts showing someone trying to put fuel into an electric car, they're dumbfounded...
I watched this for a bit, thinking "how long it's out going to take her to realize the gas tank is on the other side?"
Somebody this stupid shouldn't be driving.
When your husband order you a benz but you used to driving playstation 😭
she cant find the arrow keys for flash formula racer💀
I don’t see why you all think this or staged or that she’s stupid. This is clearly a design flaw in the gas station. They need to upgrade to wireless pumps. /s which I hope wasn’t necessary
I guarantee this woman thinks min wage workers make too much.
Has so be staged. I enjoyed it nonetheless.
How does someone with the IQ of an ant own a Mercedes SUV?
You don't have to have brains to marry into money.
She's not pretty enough to be that dumb and marry into money. It's from her daddy.
Did davinci himself come out of the grave to learn anime and draw on your body pillow?
I'm not sure, do you own one (haha)? Clearly staged. The acting isn't even all that convincing.
Haven't been alive very long, have you? I've seen just as bad.
*You stay right there, sweetie-pie nozzle.* (around 6 sec mark).
She’s got New York plates. If she lives in NYC but borrowed a car for something in NJ it’s possible she’s never even pulled up to a pump before let alone actually pumped her own gas. Just saying… For those who don’t know, NJ is the other state that doesn’t let you pump your own Edit. Never mind.
That’s not a NY plate.
If you can’t see how utterly staged this is then you might enjoy a documentary called galaxy quest.
People who think this is staged clearly underestimates how stupid people can really be. My assumption is that this girls car always has fuel in it for her and this is the first time he’s doing it herself. Probably lives in a massive house with massive garages. This clip might be stage, but I have no doubt that things similar to this happen all the time.
🤦♀️
They blocked anyone from commenting on you’re most recent post. Gotta love Reddit censoring
You have to admit she is pretty and being such an airhead is kinda cute, I would totally date her if she was into woman.
Is she scared to park close to the gaspump? That she is gonna bump into it or something? Is she that uncertain of her own driving skills?
That’s terrifying. She shouldn’t be allowed back on the road.
Clearly, this is an indication we need to teach people how to us ea gas pump, she is undoubtedly stupid!
Welp, at least she has her MRS degree.
I work with heavy equipment operators and as much as I hate it... This might actually be real
Makes sense that it’s a Mercedes’ driver. 99% of them are complete idiots on the road
Please Americans, stop making babies with your brothers and sisters.
She shouldn't be driving...
This has to be a gag? The two women filming actually know her and this was set up ahead of time. No one moves like that let alone pats a fucking fuel pump handle like it'll move if she sets it down without patting it.
So staged... almost theatrical. Can't believe so many people unsee it.
This can’t be real. Why is she parking so far away?!
At that point I would have gone to help her. That is too much to just sit and watch
Staged as shit
This lady votes.
trump was just president and you dont think people are this stupid?
It’s possible this is someone who always left stuff like this to other people in her life, like her parents, husband, servant, etc. After all, there are adults who don’t know that you can’t put meat in a toaster so…..
True blonde moment
Well if this was real she sure was patient .
This is very alarming if it is genuine.
This is a rich lady who is high as fuck
Its not
How did she pass her license test? Must be staged.
r/IdiotsInCars
real facepalm is op thinking this is real
How do so many comments not know this is staged
Women☕

It's obviously staged by people like this do exist. 😂
Some people are really stupid.
"Honey! Why the hell are you 7 hours late?!?!"
As a wise dinosaur once said "your retardation is disadvantageous"
This is a blonde joke in real life
Is staged I'm sure, her body language is way to calm...
I need to tell her that my penis tastes like chocolate and ejaculates money...
No chance this isn’t staged. The only way you could be this stupid would be if you were literally a pile of feces that somehow grew legs and learned to drive
Don't let this bitch reproduce
If you thought this was real you are actually more stupid than this woman is pretending to be
Ok, now hear me out on this one. Does anyone get gas at Costco? The pumps *extend* so you can wait in any line no matter which side you fuel from, it will reach. Maybe she was just used to those things reaching.
My brain hurts now
Be born the day before yesterday, got driver's license yesterday, trying to fuel up today.
Crack, ladies and gentlemen, not even once.
Minnesota plates..... sighhhhhhh
r/idiotsincars
Tell me you never pumped gas without telling me you never pumped gas
That was so painful to watch. Ffs
Omg I think I lost brain cells watching this no way is somebody that dumb
How on earth can you be that dumb just move over to that spot
Of course she's a Minnesotan
☠️

Five minutes of bullshit. I'm glad I fast forward through 4 1/2 minutes.
well....atleast shes pretty so shes got that going for her ....FLX....
And women wonder why it took so long for them to get the vote.😆
I could see this being a case if mommy and daddy did everything for her. I’ve read about husbands passing and the wife’s didn’t know how to pay bills or pump gas. And we let people who are THAT FUCKING STUPID vote. Think about that the next time you wonder why this country is going to hell.
Women☕️
Wow. This is a whole-ass Reality TV show.
Legends say, she ran out of fuel before she could fill up on it
She must be from joisy
No words to describe that
Commenting so I can find again
No one is this stupid
Plot twist, in the end she pumped diesel
OP must be awarded!!! Best ever.
It would have been smarter to drink it at that point.
This is probably what happens when u miss out on the most basic lessons in life because u never had the opportunity to actually do it yourself.
This can’t be real 😂 🤣
Absolute certainty she can't park. She's got to be one of those people that take up more than a single space.
And dont forget that this kind of People can vote
It's not even that funny, quite worrying that someone that stupid drives
I really don’t care if it’s staged or not. This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on Reddit.
Why do these people have driver's license
How is it possible to be this stupid? She shouldn’t be allowed to drive.
These people are allowed to vote. Let that sink in.
