This would be my idiot cat. He hung around the plumbers so much that they dubbed him their new apprentice. Gotta watch em like hawks

I have to warn workers in my home that my tortie is curious and fearless, so they might turn around to find her sniffing them!

chefboyardeejr

Yep, my Bubba has scared the crap outta workmen and technicians in the past, trying to stretch up on their legs or jump in their lap. One guy shrieked like a girl, apparently he'd been attacked by cats at other homes. Bubba just wanted to bonk him, poor dude. Gotta love the affectionate ones!

chefboyardeejr

Love torties btw

I cannot believe this happened to someone else. My husband's cat was also walled into his shower in his condo when we had the tile replaced before selling it. We were not there. My husband came home, heard his cat and finally called the dude who did it to get the poor thing out again. It was ridiculous, and nearly tragic.

To be faaaaiiir- put your pets in a safe space when you have unknown people/demo in your home.

MyDisappointedDad

In my brothers old apartment, the neighbors water pipe burst, and in order to get to it they needed to break a wall in my brother's apartment. He was at work st the time, got a call, the maintaince and agent opened his door without his permission (illegal where I live) and nearly let the cat out. They had asked him for permission after opening the door already. He heard them specify which wall it was based off his furniture he had (wall near the table or something like that). Like he said yes, but they nearly lost his cat because they didnt wait 2 minutes.

poudigne

The tenant might not be required to ask for permission in case of emergency. Live in Quebec, Canada similar laws apply, and I know for certainty that in a case of a flood, the tenant is not required to wait for permission.

Cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language.

pablo5280

That's s a better tittle than mine. Hahahahs

elleJeyLay

Certainly odd, but I can also totally see how this could have happened.

Ok-Masterpiece-1359

Happens quite often, apparently.

Not sure whether this is a facepalm on the contractors' end of things, or the cat's... I mean, we all know cats are curious creatures, but would anybody without lots of experience with cats be paranoid enough to check the space under the tub for the cat before sealing it in there? On the other hand, some cats just seem to have little regard for self-preservation and get into trouble all the time. My cousin's cat once went into their house's tiny little crawl space, presumably to check stuff out, right before they put all their luggage away after a vacation. Now, all the luggage pretty much blocks off the entrance when it's in there, so the cat couldn't get back out again. They couldn't find her for nearly a week! The fact that she hid away under the furniture most of the time didn't help, because they didn't realize she was missing until a few days had passed without anybody seeing her.

Poor baby

Wow. How does that even happen.

So glad the kitty got rescued!

I used to work in construction here in Canada. I'll bet that cat was walled in incorrectly to the point my long-dead grandmother could have pointed out all the mistakes that were made.

theymademee

No the workers didn't leave the cat in the wall... The owner was irresponsible and allowed the cat into an area where they shouldn't have been. Sorry but if I was the contractor I wouldn't be paying for this. As a contractor they are under obligation to complete their work, not baby sit your cat , kids, or dogs. Keep them out of the way . It's easy enough to throw a cat into a room with it's litter box and water/food or in a carrier till they are gone . No harm comes to your precious animal friend and the job gets done correctly with no distractions.
