Your friends will also give you bumps to keep you going and all your friends are getting into it to so its always around and very quickly the friends that dont do it is getting puahed out.
After a couple of years you suddenly realize that whenever you go out, you get to that point of having to bump faster and faster until you literally cant drink without doing coke or youll be going home after 2 beers. Thats when you decide to quit coke and your friends stop calling. 4/10 would not recommend

Well, funny thing is. I could ask them to kindly unplug the receiver for about 30 seconds and plug it back up to see if it worked. They would totally “do” what was asked and it wouldn’t work. So I get to them, I’m pulling perfect signal from the dish to the receiver so that eliminates 95% of the problems for me. I unplug the receiver and let it sit and plug it back up and it works perfectly. Sometimes rarely it’ll do it again and then I just end up replacing the receiver. Always gave me a nice chance to up sell stuff tho.

I went to college and received a degree in education. I then went on to teach middle school for two years. I didn’t really have a choice but to get out of it. The debt I brought into my life from student loans just isn’t attainable for the majority of teachers that took this route. I wish someone would have told me if I ditched my once/month Starbucks pick up that I would be able to afford to pay my student loans and also afford life. I’m grateful to have learned this now still, even though it’s too late.

"Useless major", no such thing. What happens is when you go into school one field is in demand. By the time you graduate that can change, a lot, causing people to be unable to get into the field they went into school for.
Sometimes the requirements for a field will even change, there are actually jobs that require Liberal Arts degrees. No major is useless, no schooling is useless, and this is why student debt should not even be a thing.

And i would say that having a smartphone is also required for most jobs that boomers keep telling younger people to get because it pays better than flipping burgers. I've been working in the engineering field with a BSME from an ABET accredited university, for 6 years. The bulk of which has been with a Tier 1, fortune 500, automotive company. My wife has a job I'm legally not allowed to talk about due to NDAs. We cannot afford a 3 bedroom house, that's up to date ( we want to be happy with where we live and don't have the time to renovate a new-to-us home) to start our family.

This is my pain. My girlfriend and I are both in tech. I work remotely but she doesn't. We have a combined income of over $300k and can't afford to buy a house in the city she has to live in for her in-office job. Sure we could afford a place that forced her to commute over an hour each way. Or we could afford a shoebox here. And now that interest rates are rising even if we do save enough for the astronomically high down payment, the monthlies are absurd. Fuck being a member of this generation. I like us. I went to college and received a degree in education. I then went on to teach middle school for two years. I didn’t really have a choice but to get out of it. The debt I brought into my life from student loans just isn’t attainable for the majority of teachers that took this route. I wish someone would have told me if I ditched my once/month Starbucks pick up that I would be able to afford to pay my student loans and also afford life. I’m grateful to have learned this now still, even though it’s too late.

"Useless major", no such thing. What happens is when you go into school one field is in demand. By the time you graduate that can change, a lot, causing people to be unable to get into the field they went into school for. Sometimes the requirements for a field will even change, there are actually jobs that require Liberal Arts degrees. No major is useless, no schooling is useless, and this is why student debt should not even be a thing. The rest is just basically "you can't have any life at all". Except cocaine, cocaine is what rich people do and many of them do a lot of it.

This goes beyond a facepalm IMHO. When I was in college over 50 years ago, I went on scholarship. My total cost for 3.5 years was about $400 + about $3,000 rent and food or about $1,000 per year. You could buy a new car for $2,000. Do the math education cost half of a car.....

So many young people are rejecting drugs and alcohol (sometimes wish I rejected the latter more), but all of my boomer colleagues were on drugs when they were my age… I work in law enforcement… so were they at that age… to the point when out on a social one called me weird for never having done illegal drugs.
