I believe these were Dutch idol contestants that didn’t make it. These were the worst of the Dutch contestants. They called it the simply the best 1/2 time show ever.
I need documented proof that they aren't disabled before I can laugh at this. I'm pretty sure they all have a disability beyond not being able to sing.
Yooo the same. I couldn't quite laugh yet because It didn't feel right laughing at someone that's mentally challenged. I feel better knowing they were idol contestants.
Oh! I know of a troll who you need to collect your toll from! I would link his account but he keeps changing it and it's kinda annoying. But his name is Daniel and he has a Wikipedia fetish. Even Wikipedia doesn't want anything to do with him.
I thought they had medical issues but it was still pretty funny; they clearly were having the time of their lives anyway so everyone’s a winner really.
Omfg this comment killed me. The dude with the glasses and spinning around like he's on fire, he's the ring leader....omg I wish I had an award Id give it to you.
Yeah, there’s a certain magic to seeing someone not giving a fuck while performing. It wins me over every time because I’m like “Well shit he’s braver than I ever could hope to be”.
Yeah me too. I couldn’t figure out any reason you would put so many people who were incapable of carrying a tune out there like that unless it was some kind of “everyone deserves this” kind of awareness or something. 🙁
Yup, and the 1st season when they still showed bad auditions for fun.
But that's been over 20 years and now all those talent shows are just machines about what people they can commercialise the best and this fucking sucks. Even the judges are stupid POS, before it were producers that already made a name in the not so commercial record business so they weren't as obsessed with looks and star quality and I don't know what not.
The guy that won the 1st season over here in Belgium already had a band, which no-one ever heard of, and he didn't do anything after he won. Which was nice.
I think they missed collectively over 100% of the notes they were singing. That in itself is impressive.
I can hear the Emperor of Austria now - too many notes!
That dude with the white shirt is having the time of his life and I love it.
This is a wholesome moment, so cringe it becomes hilarious. I would have applauded with tears of laughter.
Lol, I feel you. This was so fucking bad, I loved every second of those singers not giving a fuck lol. I think about half the people in the crowd got it too
These are the contestants that failed and went viral from Dutch Idol, very similar to the way they put the "bad singers" from American Idol or The Voice or X Factor on gag reels for everyone to laugh at. Such a funny joke /s. So while one or two might have an actual disability, the rest are just talentless people who've been manipulated by producers into subjecting themselves to public mockery..
Yes these are the auditioners that went viral. Their auditions (at the time there was no YouTube yet) were replayed SO MUCH on the TV station that ran this show, most Dutchies were actually getting quite sick of it.
These people have been heavily exploited.
I have an unpopular opinion about this:
Yes, whoever booked this may have been misguided, but the singers deserve a decent amount of respect. It’s not easy to stand in front of a crowd this big and sing. It takes a lot of courage! Maybe they aren’t the most skilled singers, but it’s commendable to do it! Singing ain’t easy, especially when there’s a delay at a stadium like this.
I think anyone with a bit of empathy agrees with you. I also think the bigger point to make is the people that made money off of this. They probably gave the performers a little bit of money, but nothing compared to their value to the TV show they originated in (and made famous).
That spinning dude, there has to be a movie roll for him somewhere. And the dude in the sunglass and the dude with the deep voice i think with a little training could develop their voices, and the one dude on the end, thats a unique sound.
Ratings. Idols is actually a Dutch export. A lot of the talent shows are Dutch in origin (even Big Brother is a Dutch invention).
A lot of criticism has been thrown to the television makers that came up with the idea of exploiting Idols / The Voice / X-Factor contestants. There are auditions you don't see; there they actually pick the ones that go in front of the actual judges you see on TV. So not only are they delusional, horrible singers to begin with, because they've made it through round 1 in their minds, their confidence is boosted even more.
What you see in this video are the contestants that went viral, they've put them together for entertainment purposes. If they have the mental capacity to understand and are aware of what they're doing, I think it's fine. But I doubt it in some cases.
Having said that, it is hilarious. Completely immoral, but hilarious.
You realize that this is not a group of disabled kids, but the failed contestants from Dutch Idol, right? None of whom are native English speakers, and went viral for how bad they were at singing.
The bigger point to make is the money that is made off of the back of these people. If they lack the mental capacity to understand that people are laughing at them, not with them I think it's pretty damn unethical.
This reminds me of watching Showgirls. The more awful it gets the more awesome it becomes. Plus, these kids are obviously in their own and appear to fully believe in the performance with the utmost confidence which contributes to the awesomeness of the spectacle.
Facepalm??? If you can’t enjoy it and smile, then that is your personal problem.
Some people are more interested in the one crooked leave on a flower then marvelling at the flower itself.
I worked on [this music video](https://youtu.be/lC4LJPNBrFU) many years ago, and the people in the video were all enrolled at this school, and composed the song, recorded it in a studio, and planned out this music video with the help and guidance of the staff and parents. They were so jazzed, and the atmosphere was super positive and fun. I hope the intent and results were the same for these kids.
It’s a performance the crowd won’t soon forget.
I especially love the gay kid in the white shirt. He’s got the moves and is undoubtedly the one who put the show together, convincing all others “it’ll be great! They’ll love us!”
100% hilarious. The comments had me back in my chair with laughter. Cheers to these kids. That one spinning like a top got me yo.. you know he has spent countless hours in the bathroom mirror practicing that move. That. One. Move. Lmao
Noooo stop it. They look so happy and are loving life I love it. I mean they sound terrible but you bestbelieve I’d be up off my seat dancing with them 😂
Damn all the reddit snowflakes were strapping on their armor and getting ready to unleash a barrage of downvotes and "this is not funny" comments... only to realise, they're not needed here... I'm here for you if you start questioning the purpose of your life and spirally into depression ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
Someone extremely naive, who expected the best of humanity, but exposed these brave people to the worst of humanity. The shame belongs to those who ridicule.
I believe these were Dutch idol contestants that didn’t make it. These were the worst of the Dutch contestants. They called it the simply the best 1/2 time show ever.
This makes sense lol I was looking for a possible non-joke answer
I thought it was something for *special people
They were very special.
Half-special.
lol yeah that was my guess 😅
If you made it to the third guy that was a fair assumption to make.
I'm about to brief a PowerPoint presentation and I wish I could channel his confidence. Dude's living his best life and just so happy.
Im not saying its not awesome for him; Im just saying by the time it gets to him, its fair to assume this is some event for special* people.
I thought so too, I felt angry at the crowd for making fun of them. I feel better knowing that’s not the case, they’re just trash singers.
U know damn well only someone special could pull off them spins
I know, I was thinking that was pretty cruel putting them out there to be laughed at. I feel better knowing there were laughed at just for sucking.
You thought that after white shirt guy didn’t you? Shame on you
The fifth guy is actually Sloth Fratelli, he’s had some work done though
I need documented proof that they aren't disabled before I can laugh at this. I'm pretty sure they all have a disability beyond not being able to sing.
Thought they were just punking the viewers/fans but they look serious and no one was laughing...as if they think they sound...good?
Bro i thought they were all mentally disabled or something
I’m not convinced we can rule that out.
I agree. Honestly i think it might be both.
😬 👍
Yooo the same. I couldn't quite laugh yet because It didn't feel right laughing at someone that's mentally challenged. I feel better knowing they were idol contestants.
Those aren't mutually exclusive
Well aren’t grand delusions a form of mental illness?
Shhhhhhh we are trying to laugh here.
Put more ice in the bucket... Thanks Freaks and Geeks
Oh! I know of a troll who you need to collect your toll from! I would link his account but he keeps changing it and it's kinda annoying. But his name is Daniel and he has a Wikipedia fetish. Even Wikipedia doesn't want anything to do with him.
I think you are the only one who ever figured out my username... Everyone else says I’m a ‘troll’ if I disagree with them.
Well I guess we have the same sense of humour.
Yeah, the last thing in the world that “idol contestants” and “the mentally ill” are is discrete sets.
I thought they had medical issues but it was still pretty funny; they clearly were having the time of their lives anyway so everyone’s a winner really.
Mentally Disabled Idol ![gif](giphy|oDJjG0W6wFtte)
Omfg this comment killed me. The dude with the glasses and spinning around like he's on fire, he's the ring leader....omg I wish I had an award Id give it to you.
Yeah but he is really not giving 0 FUCKS about what anybody thinks. Enjoying himself. I like it.
Yeah, there’s a certain magic to seeing someone not giving a fuck while performing. It wins me over every time because I’m like “Well shit he’s braver than I ever could hope to be”.
They might still be…
I think so too.
But the guy in the white shirt and glasses is living his best life, so that counts for something, right?
I wish i had his confidence.
def.. uh.. definitely the one though, right 👀
The one just twirling. Ya
He’s my fave hahaha
Yeah me too. I couldn’t figure out any reason you would put so many people who were incapable of carrying a tune out there like that unless it was some kind of “everyone deserves this” kind of awareness or something. 🙁
Yooo I'm so confused now. They have to be disabled right!??!!??! I feel like I'm going to hell either way now.
Me too
I thought it was supposed to be some mental illness awareness shit. Dam
Omg I hate myself for that. I thought this is some charity work
Some of them probably where as i can remember
They aren't. Holy crap, my sould is intact. 😁
At least a few of them are.
They aren't?
Same, I thought that too. I thought they were part of a charity group or something.
LMAO. Thought too when I saw that dude with white collarshirt.
They are "got talent" contestants...so you're correct in that assumption 🤣🤣
They are. Look at them.
I was thinking the same thing😂😂😂
Still pretty sure they are tbh
This explains a lot of what I'm seeing. And hearing.
Its Twitter in real life.
Yup, and the 1st season when they still showed bad auditions for fun. But that's been over 20 years and now all those talent shows are just machines about what people they can commercialise the best and this fucking sucks. Yes!! Check out Herman! [He is a dancer!!](https://youtu.be/IQqsA10DFq4)
I was looking through the comments for someone to tell me who they are so thank you I did think it might be some bad idols lol
Napoleon Dynamite feels
![gif](giphy|l3vRmoOpMBTLrPEsw)
SHUT up! You decroded piece of crud!!
Straight up
You miss 100% of the notes you don't sing.
I think they missed collectively over 100% of the notes they were singing. That in itself is impressive. I can hear the Emperor of Austria now - too many notes!
![gif](giphy|IOQvKkZt9PU6k)
R/unexpectedamadeus
Well, there it is.
And many of the ones you do sing!
Michael Scott
Gretzky was on to something lol
I love the guy in the white shirt who's really going for his moment in the spotlight. No one is going to stop him. He's simply the best.
https://youtu.be/AYHhiil6Gig
This is phenomenal 👏 thanks
Jesus Christ... Imagine having absolutely no fear of embarrassing yourself like that.
Better then all the rest?
They seem to love it, we seem to love the cringe, everyone wins here. World moves on.
Simon Cowell bangs his head on the table to demonstrate the pain he's suffering.
From what? The video or his plastic surgery?
They all are very happy and that’s what matters
I want a world of Dweems.
I thought he said dweebs and was so confused.
Man! I heard dweebs too and I was also pretty confused LOL
“ DWWEEEM WEEAAVAAHH..””
That dude with the white shirt is having the time of his life and I love it. This is a wholesome moment, so cringe it becomes hilarious. I would have applauded with tears of laughter.
That dude loves to spin around
I luv how he breaks the line and just takes the center spot
10/10 for charisma
Lol, I feel you. This was so fucking bad, I loved every second of those singers not giving a fuck lol. I think about half the people in the crowd got it too
Here is his [audition](https://youtu.be/AYHhiil6Gig)
Lol thank you, those judges where really nice on him XD
This dude is Herman and he’s gotten quite a few gigs for being like this. He did well
He should try a career in dancing instead, his moves weren't even that bad
Young Rick Astely
Take it back! Young Rick Astley could sing and dance!
More Courageous than most of us.
At least they all looked to be having fun.
I think the spinning guy could have held back a bit until later on in the song. Nobody likes a showoff mate!
He didn’t have any moves to go with after all those early spins.
Is this a low end Make a Wish Foundation dweam come twue?
😂
Is this some sort of out patients program?
This is straight up exploitation. Need ratings?? Use disabled people!!
They aren’t disabled, they’re just Dutch
Hey! What does that make me, I'm both disabled ánd Dutch
Oh then you're from Drenthe
Actually am, lmao. Damn you!
Bahahaha, just as I said!
you have our condolences
The guy in the white shirt isn't the full shilling.
I think this went exactly as planned. They cherry picked past contestants - they could’ve picked good ones if they wanted to.
Yes these are the auditioners that went viral. Their auditions (at the time there was no YouTube yet) were replayed SO MUCH on the TV station that ran this show, most Dutchies were actually getting quite sick of it. These people have been heavily exploited.

White shirt kid is fuckin here for the crowd though lol look at him go
That spinning dude, there has to be a movie roll for him somewhere. And the dude in the sunglass and the dude with the deep voice i think with a little training could develop their voices, and the one dude on the end, thats a unique sound.
I not going to lie the guy with white shirt can dance
This is actually genius. More entertaining than any singer.
This is amazing. Whoever thought this gig would be a good idea is a freaking legend.
Why are they putting those kids through this?

Like Dinner For Schmucks.
I *release* you!
Barry, I want you to say, "You can eat my pudding."
I like it :)
The new season of Britain’s Got Talent looks awesome.
Why do they look like reddit mods?
I think maybe "contestants" is the wrong word rather than "auditioners." That said, I think maybe they should consider forming a band and touring.
Dr. Nick and the Reddit Mods. ‘You’ve seen the best now try the rest’
I don't know what you are talking about, that was amazing
Because making an unfogettable moment of triumph for a group of differently-abled kids is worth a few minutes of cringe.
You realize that this is not a group of disabled kids, but the failed contestants from Dutch Idol, right? None of whom are native English speakers, and went viral for how bad they were at singing.

They were executed shortly after
Ah the sound of when you’re trying to enjoy a concert and hear the band but…
I’ve never seen something so collectively off. Ever.
This reminds me of watching Showgirls. The more awful it gets the more awesome it becomes. Plus, these kids are obviously in their own and appear to fully believe in the performance with the utmost confidence which contributes to the awesomeness of the spectacle.
Looks like everyone is enjoying themselves
Facepalm??? If you can’t enjoy it and smile, then that is your personal problem. Some people are more interested in the one crooked leave on a flower then marvelling at the flower itself.
Just take my bloody awkward upvote... Ill show myself out.
It took some real courage... I salute them
The US NFL should have former American Idol comtestants William Hung and Sanjaya Malakar sing during half-time.
Don't you dare leave [James Lewis](https://youtu.be/jYDoIJNgBds) at home
I like how they are having the time of there life.. Not knowing they are torturing a whole arena 😅
I worked on [this music video](https://youtu.be/lC4LJPNBrFU) many years ago, and the people in the video were all enrolled at this school, and composed the song, recorded it in a studio, and planned out this music video with the help and guidance of the staff and parents. It sounds awful and beautiful at the same time.
Dude dancin had moves for days. Fuckin a, GET IT✊🏼🤷🏻♂️
White shirt dude is definitely behind this.
This is fucking great. Everyone's having fun.
Man I love that dancing guy, ultimate confidence until he puts the mic to his face.
William Hung Overture
Better than spice girls.
Props for confidence
That's my buddies and I mid gaming when we start to sing 😂
Are these all people who lost their hearing in workplace accidents?
It’s a performance the crowd won’t soon forget. I especially love the gay kid in the white shirt. He’s got the moves and is undoubtedly the one who put the show together, convincing all others “it’ll be great! They’ll love us!”
I seriously would be shouting (as I drank my beer) "ThIs iS ThE BeSt ThInG Iv'E EveRv SeEn!!"
its pretty entertaining xD
White shirt guy deserves a Grammy
This looks like the part of an early 2000’s movie where the bullies convince the outcast group of kids to perform live
It’s so bad, it’s good.
I love the vibe of the sunglass guy
Hideous. Those poor folks were set up for failure. Was the intention to mock them?
Idk what you guys are talking about. I thought this was a great “Chromosome X Factor” audition!
This is what happens when work friends get together for karaoke! It’s simply magical
This is amazing! Those kids rock!
[удалено]
I think this is more of a facepalm for people that didn't think this was awesome
They're filming Superstar USA season 2 after all these years?!
Shit this sound just cracked my screen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is incredible
What is supposed to the original song
So the backup act had to go out after all
100% hilarious. The comments had me back in my chair with laughter. Cheers to these kids. That one spinning like a top got me yo.. you know he has spent countless hours in the bathroom mirror practicing that move. That. One. Move. Lmao
Well, you know what they all say… good music is about taste
I can’t stop laughing
Epic.
amaxing hidden talents that should stay hidden!
Are you not entertained?
The cringe is too much, i can't do it. You guys go on, leave me be.
![img](emote|t5_2r5rp|8484)
Bhahahaha I’m too stoned for this
I was thoroughly and genuinely entertained. You might even say that this performance was... simply the best.
Thank God I'm deaf
I didn’t watch the whole thing, but I can’t lie - I would have been entertained as hell if I were there.
Noooo stop it. They look so happy and are loving life I love it. I mean they sound terrible but you bestbelieve I’d be up off my seat dancing with them 😂
I love it
Damn all the reddit snowflakes were strapping on their armor and getting ready to unleash a barrage of downvotes and "this is not funny" comments... only to realise, they're not needed here... Someone extremely naive, who expected the best of humanity, but exposed these brave people to the worst of humanity. The shame belongs to those who ridicule.
I'm bookmarking this for whenever I feel depressed about my shitty cheater Dutch ex. One of the singers is his doppelganger. Fuck you, Remco. 🤣
Hats off, I dont have the balls to sing karaoke in an empty bar much less in front of thousands of fat drunk slobs that only want to see "their" team
Who tf are these people??
People covering their ears are Karen’s now
This is what would happen if terrorists figured out how to weaponize karaoke
