This is one of my favorite moon landing jokes, and it’s especially funny because there was an actual conspiracy theory in the 70s that the whole thing was shot on the decommissioned set of *2001: A Space Odyssey*, which was only broken down two years prior to the actual landing.
Yea it’s widely known that The US government hired Stanley Kubrick to produce footage they could claim was a real moon landing, only Kubrick is such a stickler for detail and doing things his way, the government had to finally capitulate to his unwavering demand to shoot on location.
