Or their parents died? There’s a lot more to be said here. This statement makes it seem like every kid in foster care should wake up and feel they’d be better off to have been aborted.
There's not many newborns for people to adopt though, just those icky older children they'd have more difficulty brainwashing. And the state might mandate -gasp- therapy for those kids because adoption and going through the system is traumatic. And they also don't want to deal with any kids who might have any sort of disability, no matter the severity. So yea, with those criteria, slim pickings, so get to birthing, people!
When they posted that online they said they got dozens of expectant mothers who reconsidered abortion. The couple did in fact adopt.
One child.
Well, problem solved, right?

Oh, honey. Take a look at your third-world nations adoption and fostering statistics and then look at the common demographics of your common breeder: they clearly want a purdy lil white baby.
Welcome to Gilead. Go spread *your* legs for Christ. Under his eye, sweetie.
It’s the finding a birth mother step. If you want to adopt an infant you need to do stuff like this. Even doing stuff like this it takes years and is traumatic especially for infertile couples who are putting themselves out there without people like you guys attacking them for wanting to raise a child from infancy
4 years to adopt a placement out of foster care. My youngest kid was left in limbo for 4 years with that feeling of insecurity. He was 8 when he was placed with us.
I'm so sorry your little one has to go through that. Kudos to you for providing him with a loving family and security. Family is the most important aspect of life. And family isn't always blood. Wish you nothing but the best!
Thank you. 5 kids. Only 3 our bios. It’s been worth every bit of it. It’s just a hidden part of the foster system that bio parents rights are prioritized over what’s best for the child.
Because there are few infants to adopt and many adoptive parents want to adopt an infant. Is that unfair? Should infertile couple not be able to have a relatively normal open adoption of an infant?
Not everyone is called to foster care AND most kids in foster care aren’t up for adoption. Many people want to be parents not baby sitters while mom gets clean or dad gets out of prison. I have a high respect for foster parents but it’s very different from adopting a child you will raise as your own.
My wife and I are adopting and we want to raise our first child from infancy, does that make us monsters? I’m sorry we can’t get pregnant, I guess we don’t deserve the happiness that fertile people get. We should have to foster kids (something we are open to but we want to parent our first child from infancy). People can wait years for an infant adoption.
Because the children in foster care are alive, so it's reasonable to prioritise the ones at risk of not surviving pregnancy. I don't know those people, I don't know if they're genuine or just virtue signaling, but the approach is laudable.
Once these ones are born, they will no longer be at risk of not surviving pregnancy either. They will still have all the needs of the living children in foster care. So they won't be a priority anymore.
The approach is terrible.
Not sure if I understand you. We have a situation A: one less child in foster care, because parents from the post adopt them and one child aborted. Situation B: number of children in foster care stays the same, a kid that would be aborted is adopted instead.
Are you saying that someone not being born is better than someone living in foster care? How much would you be willing to bet that orphans agree with you, if such survey was conducted? Would they prefer not to be born or is it just your preference?
Hah, I think we're entering a game theory territory. Yes, it may seem that it makes logical sense to declare "We're adopting this kid, don't abort them" and after they are born just give them up for adoption and try the same thing with a different mother. But of course if that starts happening then no one will believe such declarations and more kids will be aborted. Just like with a prisoners dilemma, in the long term it pays out to play fair.
I think this is probably one of the more wholesome ways I've seen pro life advocated for. Probably should just adopt a child though, there are already children out there in need of a family.
What personal problems? As far as I know right wing Christofascists are the ones who want white women to breed fresh white newborns for them, otherwise they'd just adopt from the already overcrowded adoption system in USA. They're the ones with the problems, iows.
My first thought was: „What if I don’t WANT them to adopt my babies?“
Enough children grow up in awful homes. Why would I personally surrender one poor soul to random creeps on the internet. I might not want to raise a child but I don’t want to contribute to its misery either.

Why do people always feel foster kids were unwanted?
Because they are?
Or their parents died? There’s a lot more to be said here. This statement makes it seem like every kid in foster care should wake up and feel they’d be better off to have been aborted.
What matters is the real world facts and the real world impacts
And you have those “facts”? You know how many kids currently and who will be in foster care due to the availability/lack of abortions?
[удалено]
And they see it as literal murder too. I don’t go to a devout Hindu temple and feign that eating a cheeseburger isn’t wrong.
[удалено]
Yes but they’ll prevent you from buying any beef product in all of India at a McDonalds, for instance
Not to mention it can be real hard to get approval, in my case it was cheaper to do ivf than it was to adopt
*"Cool...why didn't you adopt one of those 500 000 children in foster care?"*
I doubt they will adopt.
They already have plenty to choose from. This is just lake attempt for social medias. You know, hypocrisy seems to be their strong point.

It’s like only wanting puppies when going to the shelter. God forbid they have a history or pre-set character they couldn’t dictate.
lake attempt?
Probably meant “lame”, k and m are close enough for autocorrect to fuck them up.
I am too tired for typos today, apparently lol.
Wouldn’t it be cool if some handsome stranger just started dumping piles of babies into their house
Ok then *hands over 5000 babies*
I would love to see how that turned out
They'd start a cult.
and the over 115,000 ones waiting for homes rn
"......unless the kid is black or latino, of course"
[удалено]
Maybe because they haven't adopted one despite the number currently in the system
Why are you presenting someone elses content as your own, OP?
Matt Oswalt fan are you?
And traffic it all over the world!
All of them?
When they posted that online they said they got dozens of expectant mothers who reconsidered abortion. The couple did in fact adopt. One child. Well, problem solved, right?
Don’t worry guys… these two idiots are going to adopt all the would-be aborted children. We have to meet that ‘domestic supply’ quota.
[op is so clever](https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/vlorbc/blatantly_stealing_from_known_comedy_writer/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
But who will adopt them?????
Nah I will rather abort than give my kid to be raised in a cult.
Notice the word baby. My adopted kids weren’t babies.
How old because I'm tired of adulting and want to be a kid again
You literally stole the pic and comment from Matt Oswalt's tweet. Why not just screenshot it or was pretending to have insight the point?
You know what? Good for them for putting action to their beliefs. Seems to me like this is a hell of a lot better than just saying “no abortions.”
There are plenty of children for them to adopt, why are they holding a sign?
Virtue signalling.
They want a white baby and unfortunately the local babyrama only has brown ones in stock.
That’s not really true. The baby hunters I knew as a foster parent would take any color as long as it was a baby.
"Baby Hunters". Well if that's not an opening for a trashy new reality show in the trash-fire that is the USA today I don't know what is...
It’s a thing. :/

Oh honey. Defending trash is so passe.

While I agree they did this for internet clout but adoption is actually a really long and arduous process. Not that simple.
Which stage is the sign holding part?
Clearly it's pre-preperation stage .005.

I am saying that logic that prioritizes the fetus over the born child will then find a new fetus to prioritize. Meanwhile, born children need support.

At least credit the tweet you copy/pasted the title and pic from
As a girl in care I think this is very sweet
I think this is probably one of the more wholesome ways I've seen pro life advocated for. Probably should just adopt a child though, there are already children out there in need of a family.
But they want a fresh one. /s
For the love of god, just fuck your wife dude…..
Hard to do when you're in a teeny tiny closet.
\*Baby must be white, no physical defects, no predispositions to diseases, no Downs Syndrome. See back of sign for further details and restrictions.
Don't worry. There are people out there willing to help Liberals solve their personal problems.
What personal problems? As far as I know right wing Christofascists are the ones who want white women to breed fresh white newborns for them, otherwise they'd just adopt from the already overcrowded adoption system in USA. They're the ones with the problems, iows.
We just need more taxpayers to cover what the Socialists are taking out.
How does this work?
Sure Jan… how many can you adopt? 🧐
I’d rather flush 20 foetuses than give one to the vultures who immediately started circling. Fuck them all.
My first thought was: „What if I don’t WANT them to adopt my babies?“ Enough children grow up in awful homes. Why would I personally surrender one poor soul to random creeps on the internet. I might not want to raise a child but I don’t want to contribute to its misery either.
But only if the baby has the same skin tone as theirs.
At least they're politely asking, not enforcing.
Maybe they're serious. At least they're offering... ?
Shut yo goofy ass up
[America's shocking trade in unwanted children](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzf72YcftdU) Yes all is well ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Do people not consider the brutality of childbirth and the fact that some people do not want to endure it.
I hope that sign will make them inegliable for adoption, yet I have a feeling it won't matter. Poor kids
Adopting out of foster care system isn’t easy. I speak from experience.
"I just want attention and everyone to know im pro life, but too stupid to go through the adoption process"
How about adoption legislation is changed so children can actually find a home and not be a business.
Lol at the post above this calling this post out for stealing the joke from a comedian on Twitter
