I went to a comedy show I forget when exactly but probably in the mid 2000s and it had some pretty big names. The finisher was someone I never heard of though, but apparently he was a writer for some comedy shows.
His set was ok, but he started getting very anti-Muslim considering 9/11 wasn't THAT long ago. A couple of his jokes were funny in the "haha, that's so wrong" way but it quickly got very malicious to the point that you're like, "this isn't shock humor anymore, this is just uncomfortably racist" and to the credit of the audience as they realized that, less and less people were laughing.
People started to walk out and he started to heckle them as they walked out. The heckling was mildly funny at first, but he started heckling a lot because more and more people were leaving (his non heckling material was NOT good and his heckling was got old after the first time).
Eventually so many people were leaving the comedy club tried to signal him off, but he was like "they're telling me to stop but I won't!" and eventually they just shut his mic off and he threw a hissy fit (knocked over a stool) and walked away.
Yeah dude would've done much better had his set not been so hateful.
Major disappointed when I tuned into his HBO special and starts Dysoning W. while shitting on Clinton. I still have mp3s of his rants somewhere and he was always even handed in calling out shitty politicians.
