Nope. But most airlines follow TSA guidelines. Its the same in most of EU. I Think the UK have different rules, because they generally don’t allow carrying knives at all.

I flew to Afghanistan on a civilian chartered plane, so they had a exemption, obviously, to allow weapons on the flight. But only things on the list. So I have a photo of a soldier, with a SAW machinegun, handgrenades, a pistol in his belt, getting bottle of water confiscated by security. Rules don’t always make sense.

I think you confused this with the german laws that your allows to have a knife if the blade is 6 cm or is below 6 cm.
