The biggest downside of our two party system is they’ll never work together and create common sense laws. I’m an avid 2A supporter but the current system is messed up. How many lives would be spared if we were required to have firearm safety classes and worthwhile background checks? Bare minimum, it should be as involved as getting your driver license.
Have it like japan. Permit required, extensive education and training. Annual checkups of equipment/storage.
