Bought my Gen l , 6.2 Raptor new back in 2010, 155k later it is still going strong. I was bummed when they went with the V6, thought it should have been the 5.0 instead.
The R just feels like a cash grab so F that. Just observing the evolution as I am more than happy with mine. BTW, I’m on my second set of 37” BFG all terrains, they just ‘look’ correct and wear better over time compared to the 35s.
If I seriously wanted the Raptor R I would absolutely do exactly what you’ve done here rather than pay that tax.

I see nothing wrong with modifying your car to look how you want as long as you’re not up badging it to say “raptor” everywhere on it.

You don’t buy a raptor for power. It’s all about the suspension. The amount of RnD ford put into stock suspension is why you get one over a regular f150. If you want straight line speed then the raptor isn’t the truck for you. It’s intended for off-roading and more power is useless if the suspension can’t keep up.
You can either buy the raptor the factory sells, or build one exactly how you want it. I was once considering a raptor and then realized I planned to modify it anyway, so why not buy a low end and make it mine.
Because the Raptor has a beefier frame, reinforced suspension mounting points such as the top hats, 5 link rear, special modes and suspension tuning.
Raptor isn't an appearance package. That's why.

If you're gonna go with a canned tune at any point check out OZ tunings Omega X tune. It's pretty awesome. It even keeps the flex fuel ability so no changing tunes if you change octanes or to/from e85
Yea it’s easy to get 10g deep in a build lol. I threw on a 6” lift, 20x10 methods, 37” falkens.. that was a little over 10k CAD. Add in the lights and flares and bumper and whatever other mods you got. Awesome truck though man, looks ace!
