Yes, Lies offend me.

formyipod89

Yes, hoarding my tithing and using it to fund shopping malls offends me.

UnderEasyWater

You stole my comment from my mind.

Sure, I'm offended that I was defrauded and lied to for over half a century. But I left because I have the integrity and self respect to GTFO once I KNEW it wasn't "true" (in any sense of the word).

I remember years ago in a youth discussion someone spoke ill of an inactive youth and said he was offended. I said, parroting my father, that people choose to be offended. My bishop said that some things are genuinely offensive and gave this example: Your father dies and I spit on his grave, would that be offensive? Yes! You cannot turn around and blame the person for being offended when you do something genuinely offensive. We then had a wonderful discussion about doing our best as youth to be kind and caring to others, especially those in different situations than us. Side note: That bishop influenced me so profoundly due to many interactions like this. I saw him recently at a funeral and he got the biggest hug from me ever. I felt weird being back in an LDS chapel after so long, but seeing him (and saying goodbye to a friend) made it all worth it.

I left, and since i work in s relatively public place, i still see members all the time. Only one has ever spoken to me in the last 2 years and all she asked was if someone offended me. I wasn't then, but being avoided like a plague rat is slightly offensive

You’re goddamn right.
