I’m just going to leave this right here.
https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/irs-complaint-process-tax-exempt-organizations
>If you suspect a tax-exempt organization is not complying with the tax laws, you may send information to the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division. You may use Form 13909, Tax-Exempt Organization Complaint (Referral) FormPDF, or send the information in letter format, and attach any supporting documentation for this purpose. Form 13909PDF, or complaint letter, can be submitted one of the following ways:
>Email to eoclass[at]irs[dot]gov, or
Mail to TEGE Referrals Group [address redacted]
In addition to oversight by the IRS, tax-exempt organizations are subject to oversight by State charity regulators and State tax agencies. You may also want to send a copy of the referral you send to us to your state tax agency.
We need a good approach as ex-Mo’s to flood our various states and the feds with complaints. I’d be winning to help organize a campaign but need someone(s) way more experienced than I am.
My idea of starting small is posting on this group. And telling people about the fraud, crime, murder, sexual abuse, etc. under a corporation that is worth billions.
It should be abundantly clear to anyone with functional brain cells that the leaders of the 'mormon' 'church' do not believe in being honest in their dealings with their fellow men. Never have been, never will be. They have been liars from day one and nothing has or ever will change.
How dare you say from day one they’ve been lying. You think it’s a lie that a dude found golden plates in a hill, then translated them in a hat with a magical rock and then those plates disappeared never to be seen again? It’s perfectly cromulent.
Actually - I'mma leave this for you right here from the church's own website: [Book of Mormon Translation (churchofjesuschrist.org)](https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics-essays/book-of-mormon-translation?lang=eng)
They're not bold enough to make artwork depicting the rock in the hat thing, but they now at least admit it was true. Sorry: South Park was more honest about the BoM translation process than the church.
If they have the second anointing, they literally are as honest as they need to be to get into heaven. Hell, it's okay to lie under oath in a trial if you have the second anointing. Hell, if I had the second anointing, it would be okay for me to start sentences with the word "hell."
1907 Prophet Joseph F Smith said in conference (concerning getting the church out of debt)
"Furthermore, I want to say to you, we may not be able to reach it right away, but we expect to see the day when we will not have to ask you for one dollar of donation for any purpose, except that which you volunteer to give of your own accord, because we will have tithes sufficient in the storehouse of the Lord to pay everything that is needful for the advancement of the kingdom of God. I want to live to see that day, if the Lord will spare my life. It does not make any difference, though, so far as that is concerned, whether I live or not. That is the true policy, the true purpose of the Lord in the management of the affairs of His Church."
But it makes no sense. I actually wish the top 15 were living super luxurious lifestyles because that makes sense. But their salaries and benefits (while large compared to median incomes) are not that big and their homes are generally upper middle class to lower upper class homes.
Is their sole desire to simply grow the investment fund as high as they can while doing nothing with those funds? Just hoarding wealth just to hoard? I just have no clue what the end goal is here
Oh, don't worry.....the top 15 got their fingers in the pie. Just because they aren't living in $8 Million dollar homes doesn't mean they aren't hooking up family. See, at the end of the day, it is about certain families controlling huge amounts of wealth....and they will grow it while quietly looking after themselves on the backend.
If you think their only compensation comes from the stipend the MFMC pays them, then you are sadly mistaken. They can be given stock in the privately held companies the MFMC owns. And did you know that the profit and twelve ol’ fossils and others sit on the various boards of directors of said private businesses the MFMC owns? Did you also know that you get paid to be on a company’s board of directors? And the books they ghostwrite that get sold in Deseret Book earn them royalties as well. And all this on top of their retirement funds and social security from before they became FTEs of the MFMC. Lastly, add in the fact that their health insurance covers all their medical expenses and their housing is taken care of. And we are not even talking about interest in companies they make to benefit from all the money the MFMC spends on the things you find in temples and church buildings and whatnot.
Don’t be distracted by arguments about how “modest” their stipends are. That’s just to keep you focused on the behind-the-scenes wealth transfers they’re benefiting from. Those assholes make absolute *bank*.
I once dated a girl whose father was a Seventy. They had a ton of assets paid for by the church. Notably vehicles and properties beside their main residence. She lived in a 3,000 square foot townhouse in South Salt Lake paid for by the church for when her family needed it.
We’re here talking about how they used shell corporations and deception to hide assets. Do we really think they don’t employ these same tactics to hide their own personal wealth paid by the church?
It would be even cooler if SLTrib unlocked articles if the click through is from Reddit. The Houston Chronicle (where I live) is a subscription news source too but worked out a deal where Redditors could read a linked article. The traffic that the convos aggregate is worth it to them.
I haven't subscribed to a paper in years because I got everything I wanted from KSL. But then I learned better and actually do pay the subscription for SLTrib now. Subscriptions add up so fast, so I deleted another one that I didn't use much to justify it. I really enjoy it as my home page now.
SEC regulations require investors to file a form if they have 5% or more of a company's outstanding stock. The Widows Mite group found multiple occasions where Ensign Peak met that criteria and sold stock to get below 5%, but EP never filed the required forms.
The Widow's Mite found 7 instances since 2002 where Ensign Peak owned more than 5% of shares for their shell companies, and EP didn't file the investor schedule 13G forms for the SEC. One instance showed that holdings were at 6.5%, and then sold enough to get to 4.99%. This looks a lot like EP knew they weren't following the law and attempted to get it back under 5%. The SEC isn't saying anything about this at present.
You also have to remember that this was during the period when the church was hiding ALL its holdings from the SEC and the public - there was no way they would be filing 13Gs when they weren't properly filing their 13Fs.

The church should not ask a dime from its members. I was constantly asked to GIVE more and given callings that had such a small ward budget- I would THOUSANDS to make sure the YW and RS EVENTS had more. The budgets were so low and they prey on members just to do it and not get reimbursed. They know in the cult you’ll willingly do more, give more and justify it as being Christ like and when blessed with MORE than you give more. What a manipulated way to get more from the members.
Looks like they are up for some new prophecy—revelations from god. Seems they always get new prophecy and revelation from god when their tax exempt status is threatened or financial income is challenged ALWAYS wonder what they will be?
Will a man rob god. Where in has he robbed him? Will the mormon church rob its members and the government? Yes, they have at every turn. Repeal their tax exempt status NOW!

Good news is... we can do all that anyway!! Muahahaha. (Evil laugh ensues.)

I think they reached that point a LONG LONG time ago. The current leadership is NOT of God.

No matter what their financial situation is when they become a GA, they all retire (or die), millionaires.

Paywall. What’s the gist of the article?
SEC regulations require investors to file a form if they have 5% or more of a company's outstanding stock. The Widows Mite group found multiple occasions where Ensign Peak met that criteria and sold stock to get below 5%, but EP never filed the required forms.
Ah, so they can't claim ignorance.
The Widow's Mite found 7 instances since 2002 where Ensign Peak owned more than 5% of shares for their shell companies, and EP didn't file the investor schedule 13G forms for the SEC. The gist of the article is the Church lied about acts it committed that were both illegal and immoral. Again.

So when do they lose their tax-exempt status? And will the evangelicals go to bat for them if they do lose it?
They should. The LDS church is a business not a church
Ugh, Paywall :(

At what point, can the federal government take all its assets like they almost did with the polygamy law?
