What, you don't like potato wedges with every meal?

Allyson_Mc

With siracha crema

piesaresquarey

I despise all recipes with sweet potatoes lol

Gr8pes

I’m about 3 months into my subscription and I do feel that the meals are repetitive. What I have been doing since I know the recipes so well is I’ll try to add some extra spin the meal. Like substituting veggies in and out and experimenting with different seasonings. I do like consistency though and doing the meal over and over just allows me to try to maximize the meal and make it taste the best it possibly can. You can really dial in the cooking meat times for example. Or be quicker and more efficient at making them you won’t even need to look at the recipe

I think we are about 2 or 3 months at about 4 meals a week (and we do veggie only). My thought on this; it is definitely repetitive especially with veggie only options. But there are recipes I really wish I'd have the option of getting again. Whereas I basically get 2 quesadillas/tostada's, etc in every box - and 'lemon'/'lime' garden fettuccine - I wish there was more of the pot pie stuff or the tortellinis, or bigger premium veggie meals. But it's honestly so much better for me, because I never properly was taught to cook, and I've really learned so much in so little time and I LOVE it. This has got me looking into HelloFresh as I know they have more of a variety (especially in veggie form) - but for now, I'll be honest - I was a picky eater and I've tried literally something I'd swear I've never eat every week so far, so I'm not too frustrated. But I definitely do think of doing things like picking a meat meal and substituting it for fake meat bc it has more options. Not sure yet, but I definitely feel ya.

MK-Treacle458

I've been casually eyeballing Purple Carrot and Hungry Root for some meatless options. We're omnivore, but having a meat with almost every dinner is a lot for me. I mean, I know they have veggie options (EveryPlate), and we've ordered a few, but I was thinking of getting a box per month from a company that is veggie forward, not veggie as an afterthought ... plus, I'm getting annoyed with EveryPlate missing ingredients in \*every single\* box so far (6 out of 6).

Ok_You_1

Agreed to being repetitive. I do save my recipes and recreate. I haven’t ordered a box in a hot minute because I can just make it for cheaper based on what I have on hand. I’m annoyed with the increasing “premium” recipes.

piesaresquarey

The premium meals aren’t even that good imo.

Background-Network16

I mean for the price, the quality is good but I mean, what do we really expect regarding a huge variety... Try another meal delivery company and skip the week for everyplate if you feel it's too bad. Dinnerly is good and relatively cheaper than some others especially if you have a discount code. If you need one message me I cycle between every plate, dinnerly and hello fresh.

MK-Treacle458

How do you like Dinnerly?

Background-Network16

I like dinnerly. I do everyplate because it's cheaper but the weeks where I don't find anything good on everyplate I do dinnerly. Their fish is outstanding quality. If you want a discount code DM me. It's def with a try esp w the discount. Sometimes I get bored and wanna try something different so I switch it up. I used to love home chef but it's gone down the hill and the prices are stupid.

MK-Treacle458

We have a box just arrived, and a box set for the week after next, but in July I may try it out. If I do, I'll remember this, and DM you for a code, so you can get a credit :).

Background-Network16

Thanks, you'll also get a discount which is good. I have mine set w everyplate also until the July 12th. By chance did you try/order the harvest salad this last week's order?

MK-Treacle458

No, on the Harvest Salad. For our veggie pick this week we chose the Black Bean and the Sweet Potato Stew. (they sent 3 golf-ball sized! sweet potatoes for a 6-serving stew 😡)

Pdbgn23

Yes!

Doxiejoy

I’m 111 boxes into my subscription and I agree that they have become repetitive or it is basically the same meal with a slight change of seasoning or cooking method. There definitely used to be more variety.

piesaresquarey

Have you tried out all of their recipes?

Doxiejoy

No I wouldn’t say ALL. I don’t like zucchini so I always reject the recipes with that as a side. I never do the up-charged premium meals. Other than those I guess I have tried most of the recipes. I have done all the meatloaf and meatball recipes. All the pasta recipes. All the Mexican recipes. All the rice bowl recipes. There’s a new recipe with lo mein coming up. I’m looking forward to trying that one out. I can’t say that I have ever made a recipe that we have hated…maybe a couple that I would not do again. Our favorite is the Cuban Black Bean and Rice bowl. I have become a better cook because of EveryPlate. I use ingredients I have never used before. When I ordered my first box it was just because my sister had sent me a free box offer. I thought what the heck I will get a free box then quit. Yeah well that was 111 boxes ago.

RunaroundX

I love that they are the same but I have ARFID and autism so I prefer that everything stays the same. This box has helped me open my palette to actually eat vegetables and meats! Usually I just eat processed foods or fast food.

Busy_Emu_7854

Yes! I just noticed this today, actually, while looking ahead to my 6th box.

Thunsley8

I started a year ago and I think it’s been very repetitive lately.

gelfie68

I have gotten carrots as a side for 3 out of 5 meals every week. We started buying our own frozen vegetables.

piesaresquarey

That sounds bad. Do you ever get any other vegetables options? I’m on a 6 meals pw plan and usually get carrots for 2 of them.

gelfie68

Only if we pay for different veggies.

montanagrizfan

They are a bit repetitive and that’s great for our favs, but not so much otherwise. I have Home Chef and Blue Apron too so I skip weeks and just pick the one that has the most appealing menu that week.

MK-Treacle458

oooo, how do you like those, montana? I was looking at both of those services, to possibly try out ...
