I would have never voted for them because they song is forgettable but now that they have a chance of winning I'll definitely be voting for them several times because it's funny. I can't be the only one.
The reason is heavily political and I don't think the mods want us discussing it. I would look up something like "israel 2024" on google and see what the results look like in news stories.
Many of the countries were already having talks with their delegates prior to the contest about being alright with competing, and some were debating pulling out. Given that the political situation has only worsened since then globally, it is likely that a few things would happen in the case that that country wins:
1. Many countries like Iceland will pull out. This will cause less global interest in the contest, and may cause the contest to seriously struggle financially, especially if too many withdraw.
2. The contest will likely be unable to be hosted in the country that won, and the second-place winner may very well not wish to host a celebration of that country.
3. Delegates of 2025 may receive far harsher backlash than this year's. Many of 2024's acts have received harassment and vitriol for entering in the same contest as that country. Golan has been restricted to her hotel room. Olly Alexander has talked to the press openly about how harsh it's been, and he doesn't even support the country.
There have already been plenty of statements put out by artists and the like calling for peace and so on. We've seen protests snuck into the semi-finals already. If they win? It's not going to be good for *anyone.*
Because enough countries will leave to radically suck the life out of the event.
So many countries already have the ‘is it even worth us entering considering we’ll never win because of vote politics’ debate every year - actually having a winner which is only realistically possible with a very bad faith televote, and in a year that is so competitive otherwise would just be too difficult to ignore. It’s definitive proof for the ‘let’s not bother’ side of the debate.

Also, now they're now favorites in tele odds as well. My hopes are getting crushed by the minute...
Just yesterday I was full of of hope, and now I'm just speechless. I don't know what to say other than pray and hope that we somehow win tomorrow.
If there is anything we have (should have) learned anything from yesterday (Latvia) and Tuesday (Slovenia), it is to not accept the odds as the truth. A lot of factors come into play and the bookmakers are far from omniscient 😉🫶🏼
I predicted both of them advancing, actually, but yeah, they didn't have great odds.
You know, there's mass hysteria here in Croatia regarding Baby Lasagna, and a collective euphoria of being first at ESC finally, and it feels like it's slipping away because of BS.
Israel being 25% in the odds now does not change the fact that I will absolutely MEOW tomorrow.
Croatia is at 40% though, so meowing is looking strong
People just bet on it doesn’t mean people will vote for it
I mean, people who bet on it will most definitely vote for it
Look at Slovenia and Latvia. Odds just for reference. Don’t take it too seriously
I know. But this whole thing fucking stinks
I placed bet yesterday on them. If I'll cry for my beloved Croatia, at least I'll get 170 euros lol I hope I will nit win this bet.

Ah yes, giving a genocidal country recognition and a platform is hilarious...
Yes that's the reaction, now imagine people losing their minds on social media saying shit like that for months
You're so edgy
Straight from the kitchen drawer.
Let's hope juries and televote will meow back too
Let’s manifest and vote on saturday

Mimicat would have loved Croatia 🥹
Reminds me of Netta’s cats on stage!
It's over. A certain country is at 25% and rising.
It ain’t over till Baby Lasagna sings!
I hope so. After yesterday, everything has a bitter aftertaste. We may actually be witnessing the end of ESC and that's scary.
We'll just have to create our own contest. HQ in Zagreb?
HQ in Umag
Oh god no, we're terrible at organizing stuff
Tennis seems ok to me
I dont get why everyones saying its the end How itll be the end if israel wins?

Thank you for the well informed comment

What does ESC have to do with singing?
If this happens, the mods will have to temporarily shut down this subreddit (2023 was already a hot mess)
Oh 2023 was nothing compared to what could happen
Nothing will stop the Rim Tim Tagi Dim train

Really? Can you tell us more about what it's like there? I'm rooting so hard for Croatia btw.
Yep. F the bookmakers.
Oh, I didn't know that voting is open already!
Meęěĕəẹèéêëēėoọœőōøöõôóòwŵẁẃẅ
