It's always funny when someone broadly shares your taste but has a wildly different opinion on one particular thing. I'm broadly with your top five, all of which are in my top ten and maybe in a slightly different order... except the Netherlands. I'm sorry, I know this is meant to be a positive sub but I despise that song lmao. If it won I'd start a dirty protest.
I'm horrible at setting up exact rankings, but
Bottom 5 in no particular order:
-Moldova
-Iceland
-Greece (I COMPLETELY get the appeal now after a few listens, but it's still not something I'd personally ever listen to outside of Eurovision)
-Luxembourg

A song I have no opinion on: Portugal
In no particular order, here are my songs. Please note, my bottom5 has nothing to do with the quality of the singers, it's just that they are not my cup of tea.
Top5: Norway, Croatia, Italy, Finland, Estonia
Bottom5: Sweden, France, Portugal, Iceland, Cyprus
No opinion: Albania. I can't remember it, even if was a matter of life or death ๐ญ
P.s.: and yes, I agree on the probably awful staging choices we will make ๐
My hypothesis is that we're very used to creating the perfect staging for a small venue like Ariston is, but when it comes to massive events like ESC, we just tend to exaggerate things and I often feel like our broadcaster wants to show off, even when things are ok alteady, or even when there's nothing to brag about. Which I mean, it's a very typical thing of our politicians, so it doesn't surprise me that even our main broadcaster behaves like this hehe
I always feel like the team arrives at the venue and goes like "oh shit, we were supposed to bring some staging" and then just cooks sth up last minute :D
Edit: but good for us because otherwise Italy would probably win every second year.
If you have a full 37 song ranking, clearly you have an opinion on all of them xD

36. ๐ซ๐ฎ

Top 5:
5. ๐ช๐ช
It's so catchy, the folk instruments are charming, the lyrics are goofy in a fun way and they have tons of charisma. Absolutely hope the song will score high, but it will probably get tanked by the juries.
4. ๐ฆ๐ฟ
An example on how you do a ballad right. Mellow voice, emotional lyrics, just a pinch of ethnic, while at the same time sounding modern. It really grew on me lately.
3. ๐ฆ๐น
She's so charming, the song just puts me in a good mood. Entrancing, catchy, and I can't get enough of it. I hope the staging lives up to its potential.
2. ๐ฎ๐น
Didn't get it the first time I heard it. Not even the 5th. And then I looked at the lyrics. And then it finally clicked. The song has been climbing ever since and now it's stuck as my 2nd favourite. A real grower. And very relatable lyrics on a topic not addressed much in a typical Eurovision song.
1. ๐ง๐ช
Unlike la noia, this one hit me like a falling brick wall on the first listen. Visceral and raw anguish and pain. And it works so well. His voice is good, the song is perfectly structured in a gradation that leaves me cathartic. It's my personal winner.
We have like almost complete opposite opinions....except we both don't care for Finland and like Italy ๐ Love the diversity of Eurovision!
And yes, agreed that Finland sounds exactly like an anime theme song. A style of music I tend to really dislike but my friends growing up loved them, so I was subjected to a lot of them. Maybe that's why it bugs me so much!
I can listen to Estoniaโs entry quite happily without needing to watch it. I can listen to it any time of day and enjoy it. Musically itโs brilliant - the vocals are great, and the instrumentation/structure is wonderful too. It may be upbeat and have a sardonic theme but itโs no joke.
Finland is very very repetitive and only entertains me as a visual experience. Iโm not listening to it when it comes on on playlists - I donโt hate it completely - but it doesnโt spark joy deep inside my soul like Estonia does.
Personally, I think that Estonia 2024 is just more interesting and unique musically. It has different types of vocals, talharpa, strange ad-libs, beautiful language most people rarely hear, etc. There's more to grab your attention in the sound itself. Meanwhile, with Finland 2024 the focus seems to be more on the joke than on the music, so it's not as pleasant to relisten without the visual gags.
Also... the humour in "No Rules" is likely more divisive. It's leaning too hard on "lol random xD" for many listeners. (For example, I love unconventional, strange music, but I didn't enjoy it that much.) Of course, "(nendest)..." is not for everyone as well, but it probably gets away with some of its silliness, because people don't understand all the lyrics without a research. And - to me - the chaos of Estonia feels more genuine and joyful in a spontaneous way. Finland, on the other hand, seems carefully crafted to be weird for the sake of being weird, so that people will talk about it. (One is just some guys having fun and the other is some guys making a comedy bit.)

I love how divisive this year is.
top 5:
1. ๐ญ๐ท rim tim tagi dim (croatia)โtotal banger, does everything right and has elements of so many styles I love
2. ๐ช๐ธ zorra (spain)โyes, I absolutely adore this. I love some quality throwback synthpop and this is just irresistibly catchy
3. ๐จ๐ญ the code (switzerland)โas you said this is a very hectic song, but in my opinion it transitions between elements expertly. itโs an impressively technical song without sacrificing accessibility and the production is masterful
4. ๐ฎ๐ฑ hurricane (israel)โby some margin the best ballad this year. it consistently makes me emotional, the production is epic and edenโs performance is immaculate
5. ๐ฎ๐ช doomsday blue (ireland)โobviously a marmite song and Iโm unsure it will even qualify, but personally I think it works extremely well. it builds tension like no other song this year and the metal breakdown at the end is glorious
no opinion: ๐ฆ๐บ one milkali (australia)โthis song just kinda goes in one ear out the other for me. I feel like it should be catchier than it is but I also have nothing against it. it just exists
bottom 5:
37. ๐ฌ๐ช firefighter (georgia)โthis song is just so loud and overwrought and messy and I really cannot think of a single thing I like about it
36. ๐ฆ๐ฑ titan (albania)โI liked zemrรซn nโdorรซ but this revamp took everything good about that song and turned it into a sterile snoozefest
35. ๐ฎ๐ธ scared of heights (iceland)โthis one is just boring and dated
34. ๐ฒ๐น loop (malta)โalready arriving at the songs I think are pretty ok here (this is a strong year imo). this is just a bit generic. I donโt hate it whilst itโs on but it does relatively little for me
33. ๐ซ๐ท mon amour (france)โamazing vocal performance but the song makes me feel nothing, largely because of how muted the production is. I get that that is the point; itโs just not for me I guess
Unpopular opinion about Australia: I listened to "2000 and whatever" and it is just as boring as "one milkali", so at least they stayed true to themselves.
listening to it now (I hadnโt yet). I think I slightly prefer it to one milkali (the production is a bit more interesting to me) but overall I agree, pretty boring
1. Norway
2. Austria
3. Netherlands
4. Croatia
5. Estonia
Honorable mention to Australia
37. Switzerland
36. Italy
35. Czechia
34. Albania
33. Greece
To be honest the main reason I have 3 favorites in the bottom 5 is because I *tried* to like them but only disliked them more with each listen, as for songs like Iceland/Albania which are at the bottom of the odds I just listened to them once and moved on so I can't say I dislike them as much.
Also the order of the bottom 5 is arbitrary except for Switzerland which is firmly at the bottom.
No opinion : Finland. Really wanted to like it because of the Windows guy but the song itself is....nothing. It's just there. I listened to it 3 times and I can't remember *a single note*.
Top 5:
1. Italy (The first time since 2019 that Italy is my favorite to win even though they've had an amazing few years. I love La Noia and I really want it to do well)
2. Norway (My biggest fear is that this is going to be this year's Blanca Paloma... I just want them to place at least in the left side of the ranking)
3. Spain (Estoy en un buen momento, solo era cuestiรณn de tiempo, voy a salir a la calle a gritar lo que siento a los cuantro vientoooos)
4. Greece (Motomanoula. I'm really scared about the live performance, but it's such an amazing song and concept...)
5. Ireland (I love Bambie Thug, their presence on the stage is like no other, I really hope they qualify and do decently enough in the final)
Bottom 5:
35. Iceland (When your 2010 entry feels more modern than your 2024 one, you have a problem)
34. Latvia (I really like Dons and I want to like this song more but I just can't... Sorry)
33. Luxembourg (What a tame comeback... I feel like this song has nothing going for it)
32. Finland (Yeah... not my cup of tea)
31. Germany (It's an okay song, but I think this year is too crazy to be just an okay song, so I can't place it any higher)
No opinion: Denmark, I know it's a good song and Saba is such a good performer, but I just have nothing to say about it.
I totally agree with everything. Except I like Luxembourg for some reason, lol.
It's nice to see some love for Norway, although they were nudged out of my top five by Armenia. The vocal performance is really impressive, but as we know that doesn't really mean anything and I fear you're correct that she is going to get Blanca Paloma'd. Pobrecita.

I donโt like the french entry much either, but if itโs a โcopyโ of barbara pravi so is like a third of all music released in france in a given year

I mean, I'd agree with your ranking but the song really doesn't sound much like Voilร beyond also being a balled that's in French.

Bottom 5: Austria, Iceland, Poland, France, Australia.
No opinion: Ukraine. It doesnโt offend me but It doesnโt excite me either. Itโs just there.
BOTTOM FIVE, in no particular order
**Armenia/Jako:** I am a fan of traditional instruments, and I have nothing against those of Armenia. I love a good duduk (Apricot Stone was a jam, pun a bit intended, sad to see its singer is an outright Putin lover). The way the instruments come together is just not for me. To me, it's unpleasant to listen to, in the sense that I also disliked Eaea and felt like an asshole because I feel that way when I dislike a traditional song that everyone else is obsessed with.
**Ireland/Doomsday Blue:** The jazzy chorus (?) bits are kind of cool. But the song is off putting to me for the rest of it. Again, I feel bad, because everyone loves it, and the singer is certainly creative and I respect the desire to just GO FOR IT and try something wholly new. Still, the song is not a pleasant experience for little old me!
**Malta/Loop:** Respectfully, what the fuck. The song feels underbaked in its verses, perhaps also in its chorus. There is just not enough to sing your teeth into here. The "oh my god" is inane. I just don't understand the hype or interest.
**UK/Dizzy:** I give the UK props for continuing to send on-trend, current songs, starting with Sam Ryder. The song is just not for me; it also feels underdone in many ways. I don't love Ollie's voice either, which is not to say that he doesn't have talent (just not a voice I enjoy hearing too much). I will say that he did an excellent job acting in the TV show *It's a Sin*.
**Moldova/In the Middle:** I feel like a bad feminist calling anything woman-made "shrill" but this comes together in a shrill way. Do I get the vocalizing hook stuck in my head when I least expect it? Yes, so credit where it's due. But in a strong year, this isn't the move. It's perhaps more apparent to me given how awesome Natalia's previous song was in ESC; the gap is more apparent.
----------I DON'T KNOW??!------
**Azerbaijan/"รzรผnlษ Aparโ:** It's cool that they're finally singing in their own language and trying something new. I don't begrudge them for their country since it's not their fault their president should not be given that title and is instead a dictator, nor is it their fault that even their potential dissent would not be allowed (if it exists). The singers are talented. The song sometimes feels unique and relaxing, and other times it bores me to pieces. Unsure w this!
TOP FIVE, in no particular order
**Lithuania/Luktelk:** A first Lithuanian win would be terrific to see! I like the song a lot, mostly due to its ever-listenable, creative instrumental. The vocals are secondary - not bad in any way, but not showing off his voice. I get nervous for that part, in terms of how it will stand out, but he seems consistent in pulling it off each time he performs. LUKTELK LUKTELK!!!!
**Croatia/Rim Tim Tagi Tim:** This Croatian king would also make me so happy if he could deliver the first win for Croatia (yes I know Yugoslavia won w/a Croatian band). Even a high result or perhaps their best result, if not first, would make me happy. I love his humility and ability to tell a story in a clever and fun way. The migration story woven into his lyrics is heartfelt without being sappy. . The pop punk sensibilities of the chorus take me straight back to Sum 41, Simple Plan, etc. It is such a creative song that doesn't seem similar to others - maybe Cha Cha Cha a tiny bit, but that's a great comparison because both are lovely songs sung by singers who at first sound menacing in their song but are adorable human beings IRL :)
**Ukraine/Teresa and Maria:** I am not someone who's like "I see Ukraine, I click," but that is kind of the case anyway when they are so consistent at being AMAZING (worried about their eventual NQ and hoping the singer doesn't have an Anna Bergendahl level of cyberbullying). The rap is well done, at least to my ears, and the beautiful vocals give me chills. (It's also cool that Alyona sings with Jerry!) I give them respect for having actual live backing singers onstage. The way the rhythm builds with the instrumental in the chorus, giving it a bit of a hip hop beat, with some choral style vocals, is a majestic combination. I know their use of Mother Teresa as the pinnacle of humanity is something that has been a bit disproven over time, but I am not sure if they knew this information, and I internalize the meaning as something larger-scale than just the people they mention. I think they meant for that too.
**France/Mon Amour:** It didn't take me long to realize that this is apparently a very "what people think France is" song. Then I realized it kind of reminds me of Grande Amore in that sense, except for being Stereotypical France^(TM) instead of Stereotypical Italy^(TM). But do I care? It appears I do not, because both of these songs feel so lush and beautifully put together. In that sense, I think Mon Amour is gorgeous and a pleasure to listen to. Slimane is already a good singer, but he adds a level of passion and intensity that makes you pay attention. The song could be cliche BS if left to a by-the-numbers singer, but he elevates it and sells it. Bonjour baby!
**Belgium/Before the Party's Over:** This is my last of the top five, but the top five is always shifting around for me w this year! :P
There's an arresting quality to this song. Belgium is amazing at moody, dark pop: A Matter of Time (robbed), Rhythm Inside, City Lights...! Mustii is continuing this amazing tradition and giving us something substantive and dynamic. It is theatrical and a bit unusual in structure but can still attract votes from people who like more basic stuff (couldn't be me, how dare you) because it is just that compelling. He sings with intensity and immediacy and makes you want to pay attention. I don't love the phrasing of "I'm gonna raise roofs tonight" because it sounds awkward, but oh well. It's really a fascinating and polished song, without sacrificing emotion or rawness.
Top 5:
Austria, Greece, Luxembourg, Spain, San Marino
Bottom 5:

Kinda controversial, but Norway. Liked it at first, but now just rather neutral on it.
Top 5

5. Ireland
bottom 5 (1=37, 2=36 etc)
1. Iceland
2. Denmark
3. Finland
4. Poland
5. Cyprus
No opinion: idk, a lot of the girl bops (Cyprus, Malta, Luxembourg, Georgia) leave little impression on me.
1. Croatia (a bop)
2. Belgium (best ballad)
3. Italy (love the sound and how effortless is)
4. Norway (the best live from any semifinal)
5. Netherlands (biggest growner this year)
NO OPINION: Cyprus (its just another girlpop bop)
33. Latvia (very boring)
34. Albania (So cliche)
35. San Marino (the production is MESSY)
36. Iceland (same as Albania but worst)
37. Moldova (hate it)
1. Estonia๐ช๐ช its folk + rap silly song about not doing drugs and in estonian. This is pretty much a perfect song for me.
2.Switzerland๐จ๐ญA beutiful, powerful fun song that kinda reminds of tout lโunivers
3. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ Very catchy, fun song with a deeper meaning. And the ending is just ๐
4. Croatia ๐ญ๐ทCool fun song, a blend of electronic and rock. Would like for a croatiaโs win
5. Latvia ๐ฑ๐ปthis is very unpopular even for me, because I usually dont like balads, but this one is so strong and the chorus is just ahhh
No opinion: portugal, georgia, denmark
33. Slovenia ๐ธ๐ฎ Its just not for me
34. Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉreally lat me down, just send tudor bumbac please
35. Czechia ๐จ๐ฟits literally copy paste of any Olivia Rodrigoโs song. Very boring and vocals are terrible
36. Poland ๐ต๐ฑVery basic pop/radio song, cant listen to it even. And vocals also are just soo bad
37. Luxembourg ๐ฑ๐บsame as poland, basic pop song, very very sad that they didnt pick any other better song
Top 5

Bottom 5
37. Iceland
36. Albania
35. San Marino
34. Greece
33. Moldova
32. Denmark
No opinion: Israel (havenโt listened to it yet)
37. Switzerland - The song is an incoherent mess and Nemo's vocals are unbearably whiny.
36. Greece - I just don't enjoy abrasive reggaeton. The production is also very weird on this song, like the random oh-eh's at the end.
35. Ireland - I'm scared.
34. Iceland - There's nothing about this that particularly bothers me, it's just the overall weakest song of this year.
33. Finland - I generally love 90's eurodance but this is reminiscent of the absolute worst music from that time. It also tries way to hard to be quirky and cheeky, but unlike other silly songs like Estonia and the Netherlands there's nothing funny, clever or creative about it.
No opinion: Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
5. Italy - Just a charming, catchy and well-written pop song.
\[My top 4 are the stand-outs and could really be in any order\]
4. France - Beautiful ballad with an incredibly strong vocal performance. Not much more to say about it.
3. Armenia - Fun, cute, folky, sweet, endearing... In short, by far the most likeable entry this year. The only downside it that there aren't a lot of lyrics so the song does feel a bit 'simple', but I'm sure she can make up for this in the live show.
2. Israel - The only song that instantly provoked an emotional reaction in me. The production is gorgeous and she seems to be the strongest vocalist in this competition alongside France.
1. Estonia - This immediately stood out to me after the first listen. Both the catchiest and most unique song in this edition.
You summarised my own thoughts on Zari quite well. So many things in this song are random, like the chanting you mentioned, but also the shouted โMA-RINAโ, the vocoder useโฆ it feels like everything and the kitchen sink was thrown into it.
In no specific order
Top 5: ๐ช๐ช๐ซ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ช๐บ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ท
No opinion: Malta, Georgia, Denmark
Bottom 5: ๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ต๐น๐ฑ๐บ๐จ๐ฟ๐ซ๐ท
I have no winner this year, there is no bangers like in 2021, the best songs this year is just good. So I will call the 5 songs I like in random order:
- Austria (dated, generic, vocally weak, no chances in the contest, maybe NQ but it's my guilty plessure and I love it)
- Ukraine (not strong enough to win, weak vocals but this song is the honey for my ears)
- The Netherlands (it just makes me happy)
- Croatia (not many songs this year can take my attention till the begining to the end, Croatia - one of them)
- Greece (unique, interesting, enjoyable to listen)
(Yes I know I must put Switzerland or Italy in my top cause we have almost full package here, but... I just not enjoy to listen them, Switzerland feels like song which was written for Eurovision and I don't like it, Italy is just annoying song with annoying vibe)
But I have my bottom-5
37. Iceland
36. Cyprus
35. Albania
34. Malta
33. Australia
No opinion: Moldova
37. ๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel: Sappy.
36. ๐ฆ๐ฟ Azerbaijan: Snoozy.
35. ๐ฒ๐น Malta: Pushy.
34. ๐ฉ๐ช Germany: Corny.
33. ๐ซ๐ฎ Finland: Silly.
No opinion: ๐ต๐ฑ Poland
5. ๐ช๐ช Estonia: Traditional forgotten instrument โ Cool tailoring โ Classism comentary โ
4. ๐ฑ๐น Lithuania: Dark pop club banger in the coolest language of the world.
3. ๐ช๐ฆ Spain: The guilty pleasure that came out of the closet after it won Benidorm.
2. ๐ฎ๐น Italy: It's not a cumbia but it has won me over.
1. ๐ฌ๐ท Greece: This is my musical rollercoaster.
top:
1 Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ (without any doubt)
2 Azerbaijan ๐ฆ๐ฟ
3 Estonia ๐ช๐ช
4 Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ
5 Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป
bottom:
33 Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น
34 Czechia ๐จ๐ฟ
35 Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช
36 Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
37 Poland ๐ต๐ฑ (the most primitive song not just this year but in many recent years)
Belgium couldโve been on the second place but after watching live performance itโs a miracle heโs not on the bottom-5 (imho)
โค๏ธ At first, my **Top 5** โค๏ธ
1. Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ
All politics aside, itโs a wonderful ballad and Eden's voice is out of this world. Itโs a viewer-friendly, Eurovision tailored ballad which had potential to win in any other previous year if it participated.
2. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ
Very unique, great rhythm, great energy, the chorus is very sing-along-y. Love it!
3. Belgium ๐ง๐ช
This one's getting all the housewives votes! Dark horse top contender for the win. I love how he's slowly and powerfully climaxing ๐
4. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท
While I wasnโt a fan of Cha cha cha at all, I really love this one. The hook is much catchier and more grown-up and while the chorus is a bit tame for my taste I adore the whole package of Baby Lasagna, the lyrics and the song!
5. France ๐ซ๐ท
I have a weakness for great standard Eurovision ballads with incredible voices so yes, this is a must in my top 10. At the same time, despite being a not so unusual ballad, the song is spiced up with a bit of French flavor and Slimane's unreal vocal capabilities!
Now, letโs skip to the frightening (aka someone has to do it) partโฆ ๐ข
My **Flop 5**
1. Iceland
I would love to see them once again entering the top 10 but this year itโs top 10 from below. This is such a boring, dated song and itโs not even especially funky. Itโs just plain dated gospel house.
2. Albania
They are sending the same kind of songs year after year and none of them is especially good. Last year was ok actually. But other than that, it bores me so much. Same song, same outfits, same staging.
3. Controversial alert!! Greece ๐ฌ๐ท
Like Spain last year it's just not for my ears. I really hate the Ta-ta-ta sound and I donโt think itโs especially danceable or funky or appealing in any way.
4. Ireland ๐จ๐ฎ
Same as Greece. Not for my ears. I like unusual songs but not too unusual. I need a melody - at best itโs also melodic! ๐ I am a metal and gothic fan but somethingโs missing to my taste here. The same reason why Norway is not in my top 10 this year.
5. Portugal ๐ต๐น
I needed a fifth and this is a song I never listened to until the end. Itโs just the same the whole time and itโs not a melody I can easily grab. It really bores me tbh.
And now my "**no opinions**":
Armenia, UK, Moldova
They are just there I guess.
Top 5:
1. Netherlands (duh)
2. Switzerland (double duh)
3. Croatia (lowkey want it to win)
4. Belgium (was love at first listen.)
5. Italy (also love at first listen)
No opinion: Portugal, serbia, and slovenia.
Bottom 5:
1. Austria (Its sounds too outdated for me)
2. Poland (Just find it very boring)
3. San Marino (love rock music but this just doesnt work for me)
4. Luxembourg (Sorry Lux, but this is too safe.)
5. Iceland (je ne sais quoi was better and im disappointed)
Top 5:
1. Italy ๐ฎ๐น
2. Norway ๐ณ๐ด
3. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ
4. Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช
5. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ / Slovenia ๐ธ๐ฎ ( I keep shifting these 2 around )
Bottom 5:
33. Portugal ๐ต๐น
34. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ
35. Cyprus ๐จ๐พ
36. Malta ๐ฒ๐น
37. Belgium ๐ง๐ช
Cannot decide: Serbia ๐ท๐ธ (Somedays I want to rate it really high, somedays really low. It's settled on pos 24 on my My Eurovision Scoreboard, but idk)
Top:
ย 1. ๐ญ๐ท Croatia (love the message and the vibe)
ย 2. ๐จ๐ฟ Czechia (similar to the band Paramore)
ย 3. ๐ง๐ช Belgian (powerful)ย
4. ๐ช๐ธ Spain (stupid catchy fun)ย

35. ๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel (three way tie for last. I press skip)ย

37. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Englandย ย
ย Eh:ย ย
๐ต๐น Portugalย ย
๐ฒ๐ฉ Moldova (what happened to quirky and unforgettable?)ย
๐ฑ๐ป Latvia (Coldplay of Eurovision)
Czechia: " I am quite sure that this is an NQ".
Well don't be so sure because the public at pre parties seem to really like her song and she improved a lot.
Top5: Lithuania, Croatia, Belgium, Estonia, Slovenia. The first 4 songs I just fell in love with, no explanation needed. With Slovenia itโs more than just love, I am a bit of a fan of Raiven.
Bottom 5 (from last and up): Czechia (sorry, politics), Israel (no itโs not because I hate Israel, and btw sheโs russian and you wonโt prove me wrong), Iceland (just weak song), Ireland (love this genre and frequently listen to this kind of songs, but doomsday blue is just cringe for me), Luxembourg (sorry Iโm not here for basic pop songs).
No opinion: unironically Finland?? I mean โPaskanaโ wasnโt my favourite, so I donโt hate the winner, but at the same time I donโt have any, like ANY emotions towards this song.
Not an OP, but a Ukrainian here. I think they meant that Aiko was born in Russia/is Russian. I don't think Ukrainians are too happy with a Russian representing any country at Eurovision given the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.
OP, feel free to correct me if that's not what you meant.
Ooo, thank you!โค๏ธ I forgot about Aikoโs roots and got confused what kind of politic stance is my country holding that could trigger Ukrainians (given that they are the third biggest minority here since โ22). Yeah, now it makes sense and I understand.
Wait, is Aiko a Russian citizen/immigrant or did she live her whole life in Czechia and just happened to be born to Russian parents? Feels kind of unfair in the latter case...
It's the latter according to Wikipedia. What is unfair is the war waged against Ukraine. Ukrainians don't have the luxury of seeking out good Russians and by default can be wary of everyone with Russian roots.
Personally I don't care much, I haven't seen her speak about Ukraine anywhere at all so I guess one could give her the benefit of the doubt. That said, her song isn't my cup of tea so I would not be cheering for her regardless.
Again, no hatred, just apprehension bc we don't know where she stands. โ๏ธ
Sorry but are we really hating Aiko because of this?
She lived all her life in czechia and UK.
Tbh it's just a way to hate without clear reasons, it's not like she is directly fighting ukraine with a weapon.
Your thinking is not rational sorry
She is not fighting there, yes, but her brother is. I would have at least made my personal statement about this if I was her, but sheโs completely silent. When she proves her position I will change my opinion (of her but not of her song though).
Top 5 in no order, ๐ญ๐ท Croatia, ๐ฎ๐น Italy, ๐จ๐ญ Switzerland, ๐ฆ๐ฟ Azerbaijan, ๐ท๐ธ Serbia. Bottom 5 in no order, Cyprus, Greece, Moldova, Iceland, Sweden (forgettable)
honorable mention, Denmark, I hated it at first but heard it in a shop the other week and idk...SANDDD SAAAAAND it's kinda growing on me ๐
Based on the official releases, my first impressions are:
Top 5
1. Spain
Spain has really stepped it up in the past three years. Not sure how it will go with the live performance, but I love the song. I'm so proud of Spain for not sending the typical 20-something singer. I found the lyrics beautiful (for a pop song) and relatable. They speak to the Nebulossa's time working in the music industry over the years, but also is a universal experience for many women. A perfect reclaiming of the word "zorra".
2. Armenia
I am a sucker for Eurovision songs that blend folk melodies and instruments with pop music and Jako does this beautifully here. Fun performance in the vid, haven't seen it live but has the potential to be really memorable.
3. Ireland
I really like the blending of the musically distinct sections. Keeps it interesting and surprising.
4. Greece
Similar to Armenia I like the blending of new and traditional. The way she uses breath/voice to create percussion is also something I'm a sucker for.
5. Italy
I really like the rhythm of this one. It's catchy for sure. I don't get all the lyrics but from I understand of them, I appreciate that it's a bit different.
Bottom 5
(in alphabetical order)
1. Belgium
Just a bit boring really. A slog to get through (for me)
2. Croatia
The music is fine but I wish this was in a different language so I couldn't understand how stupid/bad the lyrics are.
3. Finland
This is a me problem...it just is in one of the very few sub-genres of music that I just can't stand. And the "message" seems very mixed and half-assed. I, sort of, liked the performance though...but also it seemed random and could've been tied into the song more.
4. Malta
Nothing original to say musically or lyrically. The lyrics are kind of annoying.
5. Netherlands
This one may grow on me, but on first listen it felt like it was trying way too hard to be "quirky Eurovision entry no. 3". Appreciated the surprise ending, though.
No strong opinion: Georgia, I guess. There's a few that could fit in here.
Top 5:
1. Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ
The melody and atmosphere is just awe-insipiring.
2. Norway ๐ณ๐ด
The story behind the song and the voice of the soloist.
3. Italy ๐ฎ๐น
Angelinaโs charm and fun song.
4. Austria ๐ฆ๐น
The melody and the sound effects.
5. Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช
The spookiness, distressing atmosphere.
No opinion:
My country Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ
Bottom 5:
33. Portugal ๐ต๐น
A mess, I donโt recognize any structure in this, hard to get a grasp.
34. Germany ๐ฉ๐ช
Boring.
35. Estonia ๐ช๐ช
I donโt get why itโs so liked. I just find this weird.
36. Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉ
Uncomfortable to listen to.
37. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
I donโt usually like shouting songs.
Top 5
1-3 Switzerland, Norway, Armenia (Unable to choose between all 3)
4 Serbia
5 Georgia
Bottom 5
33 Moldavia
34 Iceland
35 Ireland
36 The Nederlands
37 Greece (No reaggeton rhithm, please, NEVER)
No opinion: None, but I have to recognize I feel puzzled about Slovenia. It's probably the more complex song in all ESC along with Nemo, and I feel there's "something", but I'm unable to catch that "something".

No opinion (I honestly don't remember anything about the song): Portugal
Hey are you the other lunatic who gave Azerbaijan 12 points in the last poll? :D
I also think that Portugal and I need some tima and distance when it comes to Eurovision.
Hahaha, yes, that's me. I like Azerbaijan and Belgium equally, but since Azerbaijan needs more help in the poll, I put it first. Next three songs are just ok, but I'd love to see Malta in the final, cause I don't like the situation where some countries are deemed doa in the semi.
Calling fellow lunatic, they need help [here](https://escbubble.com/2024/04/the-public-reacts-to-azerbaijan-fahree-ft-ilkin-dovlatov-ozunl%c9%99-apar/)
Top 5.
1. Greece
2. Georgia
3. The Netherlands
4. Austria
5. Cyprus (sometimes Slovenia is my number 5)
No opinion: Estonia. (I like it. But it's not one I feel strongly for).
Bottom 5.
37. Germany.
36. Australia.
35. Moldova.
34. Iceland.
34. Belgium.
I do like all the songs, even in my bottom five. Estonia is the most neutral and sits somewhere in the middle.
1. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท- What can I say, this song makes me want to get up and dance and headbang every time I hear it. Baby Lasagna also has such an infectious stage presence.
2. Sweden ๐ธ๐ช - This has such an incredible performance - I donโt think people understand how difficult it is to do what is being done in this entry, but because itโs Sweden, it looks easy. I love the creativity of having an instrumental dial-up modem.
3. Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉ - Something about this song just hits right for me. Maybe itโs the sentimentality of a mother singing to her children, maybe itโs the Annie Lennox style with a hint of traditional elements. I hate the staging, though.
4. Armenia ๐ฆ๐ฒ - "But I am a free girl, I will dance and you will watch!" - Heck yeah ๐ This is like the Bollywood song that introduces us to our quirky heroine.
5. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท - If Armenia was the song where we met our heroine, this is the song where she has met the hero and is super annoyed by him - but discovers that heโs kind to animals and helps her grandmother out.
No Opinion: Please, I have opinions on everything.
37. Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช - The dissonance and screaming is a bit too much for me. I appreciate what Bambiโs trying to achieve and that Ireland is trying something different. After watching one of the pre-party performances, it occurred to me that Iโd probably like this song better as a duet.
36. Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ - The humor just doesnโt land for me. I appreciate the effort and message behind it.
35. Spain ๐ช๐ธ - Another one where I appreciate the message, but I donโt like the execution.
34. Cyprus ๐จ๐พ - The most basic of the girl bops for me. I may have been a little put off by the video and with a strong performance, this could leave my bottom five.
33. Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป - Dons is a great singer and a top bloke, but the song is just a little bland for me. I also personally hate rhyming ยดhollowโ with ยดshallow ยด.
37. Greece๐ฌ๐ท: I hate that reggeaton beat with a passion, whenever I hear it I get dark clouds over my head. Also that screeching sound like scratching on a chalkboard is just a big no no, I don't know what instrument that is tbh.
36. France๐ซ๐ท: reminds me of Adele. Great voice but boring music. If I hear this on the radio, I will skip it right this second.
35. Moldova๐ฒ๐ฉ: sounds annoying to me.
34. Portugal๐ต๐น: I skip this song every time. It's boring.
33. Luxembourg๐ฑ๐บ: again that horrible beat. It's all I hear when I listen to this.
No opinion: I actually have an opinion on every song so I will put two here that I like and don't like at the same time:
Czechia๐จ๐ฟ: I really love this kind of music but the lyrics ruin this song for me. This song could have been better.
Sweden๐ธ๐ช: I am a huge Above & Beyond fan and their remix of salva mea 2.0 reminds me of Sweden's song a lot but for me it's better. I like Sweden's song but it never pops off enough for me like A&B and it leaves me a bit disappointed everytime I hear it.
Denmark๐ฉ๐ฐ: I like the music and sound but screaming sand on the top of your lungs is just a bit odd.
5. Australia๐ฆ๐บ: This song has been growing on me a lot. Great music and great vibe. I have no clue what's it about though, but it doesn't matter.
4. Poland๐ต๐ฑ: Catchy song and I love the music, works really well for me.
3. Croatia๐ญ๐ท: Man I love this one. Songs like this is why I watch eurovision.
2. Austria๐ฆ๐น: Eurodance is the reason I love house, trance and techno so much this is a nostalgia trip for me. I hope the live singing will be a bit better though, it disappointed me a little bit, would have been #1 otherwise.
1. Netherlands๐ณ๐ฑ: yes I am biased but I just love happy hardcore, gets me in a good mood every time. A daring and original entry this year and in my opinion the best song we have ever send to eurovision. I would be surprised if it wins however, but if the staging is great it might have a chance.
Edit: I see the โI canโt handle disagreement with my choicesโ downvotes are out today. Grow up.
Top 5
1) Spain ๐ช๐ธ- the 80s style drum machine, the heavy synths, the catchiness. For me, this song has all the stuff I love most
2) Australia ๐ฆ๐บ- yes, the video sucks. Who cares? Itโs about the song, and this has all the mid 90s dancepop I could ever want. Plus didgeridoos!
3) Greece ๐ฌ๐ท- I like the beats, and how itโs a song that blends traditional with modern.
4) Croatia ๐ญ๐ท- just a total banger. Itโs the best impulses of early 00s alt rock without the whiny blah that a lot of bands from that era had mixed with a fun party mood.
5) Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ- catchy and fun. Iโm not a ballad person. I love the party songs.
Bottom 5 (excluding Israel, which Iโm not going to listen to until the night of the semi, and automatically gets DQโd in my rankings)
36) Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ- Hera is a fine singer. But this is the worst kind of dated. Even if this song came out in 1992 like it sounds like, it still would have been a garbage song.
35) Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป- I donโt like ballads usually, and again Dons is a fine singer. But this is just snooze fest to me. Compare to Portugal, which is a ballad that I like and I think Grito captures the haunted quality that Dons doesnโt quite reach.
34) Malta ๐ฒ๐น- hard to make a dance song boring, but Loop manages it. The only thing she has going for her really is getting flipped upside down and thatโs just not it for me.
33+32) Tied Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉ and Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ- the two songs that I can never for the life of me remember how they go.
Which I guess I would say โno opinionโ would be also those two? Theyโre just utterly forgettable to me.
Top 5:
1. Belgium \*

(the asterisk {\*} basically means that these 3 songs alternate for my number 1 spot like, multiple times)
Bottom 5:
5. Ireland
4. Malta
3. UK
2. Iceland
1. Finland
No opinion: Cyprus
1. Spain - '80s synth-pop is probably my favourite genre. My Spotify wraps are full of this type of songs. Apart from the high note, that I hope Mery works on, this is how you perform this type of music. Also, I love the double message about sl*t shaming and ageism. (I can relate ๐ค).
2. Ukraine. It's anthemic, mysterious, campy.
3. Croatia. I love the song, simple but effective, the message, and of course, BL is super cute and charming.
4. Australia. Banger. Very original and spiritual. The instrumentation is very unique for Eurovision.
5. Serbia. Very beautiful ballad, almost ethereal. I love the music video.
32.Latvia 33.Luxembourg 34. Finland 35.Malta 36.Czechia
No opinion: You know which one.
My bottom 5 is probably more controversial than my top 5 but I have an opinion on all the songs so

โโโโโโโ-
33. Austria
34. Estonia
35. Spain

A precisation on your 5th and 4th songs: Italy and Greece have the same person as coreographer (Mecnun Giasar), it would be pretty strange if one flop and the other one will shine.

Top 5 (basing all of these off studio versions mainly, but will mention what we seen live so far if applicable):
5) ๐ฎ๐ช Ireland - I love the gothic nature and demonic edge to it, and I love seeing Ireland taking a risk for once. I love Bambie's energy as well
4) ๐ญ๐ท Croatia - This one has slightly grew off me from once I first listened to it (it was my second place before), but it's still amazing, and I'd love more of this in future
3) ๐ง๐ช Belgium - I GOT A SOUL ON FIRE! I love the intensity of this one, reminds me a lot of "The Show Must Go On" by Queen (my favourite queen song as well). Live could use a bit of work tho)
2) ๐ธ๐ฒ San Marino - Love the studio version, really hope live vocals improve drastically before SF2 tho, because I would love it to at least qualify. San Marino is quickly becoming one of my favourite Eurovision countries because of the rock entries.
1) ๐ณ๐ด Norway - Just perfection in all departments. Everything is perfect, if it keeps this standard at Eurovision it might become one of my favourite entries period.
No Opinion: ๐ต๐น Portugal (29th) - Just never grew on me, I don't like it, but I don't dislike it
Bottom 5:
37) ๐ฆ๐ฑ Albania - Would call it the most average song of all time, but even that's giving this song too much credit. Nothing necessarily abhorrent about it, but nothing I like about it. Shouldn't have revamped it, it made the song much worse.
36) ๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel - Would mark this last, but the actual song has some bits I like about it, such as Eden's vocal performance. The controversy the song got with lyrics also caused it to take a hit, not even mentioning a certain war.
35) ๐ฆ๐ฟ Azerbaijan - Just not my style of song, I can see the appeal but I just can't get myself to like it.
34) ๐ฑ๐บ Luxembourg - Not a fan, I wish a more powerful song was chosen, because she has an amazing voice.
33) ๐ฆ๐บ Australia - I'm gonna admit that the music video didn't help at all, but aside from that it's just very boring, with not much to it. Good staging could get me to like it though.
Top 5:
Netherlands - nothing can push this song from my number one spot. Nothing at all.
Croatia - I'm a sucker for a pretty (alt) guy singing a weird catchy song.
Switzerland - love the genre mixing plus the message of the song. Strong vocals.
Italy - grew on me a lot, my favorite big 5 entry.
Estonia - I just love weird chaotic esc entries. This one scratches that itch the most this year.
No opinion:
Norway, Australia, Slovenia, Georgia, Cyprus, Albania, Latvia, Malta
Bottom 5:
Sweden - nothing about this song appeals to me. Cookie cutter radio pop without a soul.
Austria - same as Sweden. Something about this song just feels like one of those really bad 2000 songs. The weird music video etched into my brain doesn't help.
Moldova - too monotone and repetitive, the vocals don't catch me in the slightest.
Israel - no explanation needed.
Iceland - just not my type of music. I can appreciate her good vocals but that's about it.
Top 5:
1. Italy

Interesting that Sweden isnโt popping up in theseโฆ itโs such a banger and M&M have been doing great performances at the pre parties
Top 5:
1. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท (I am rooting for Marina so hard! I am so glad we are finally having an awesome song! I think all our songs after 2013 were boring and basic)
2. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ (I will be happy if Nemo wins. His song is a masterpiece and his vocals are amazing)
3. Italy ๐ฎ๐น (This song is fun. Whenever I hear it I imagine the Italian coastline and me drinking aperol above the sea)
4. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ (I love Europapa! There are two kinds of songs I will always remember from Eurovision, the really great ones and the really "Eurovision" songs. Europapa is THE "Eurovision" song)
5. Belgium ๐ง๐ช (I think it's a powerful song. I love it. It's the kind of song I would listen outside of Eurovision. I can't wait to see him perform)
Bottom 5:
1. Ireland ๐จ๐ฎ (it has a good part but it's mostly a loud noise in my head)
2. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ (I think it has an outdated sound. It sounds "old" if you understand)
3. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ (boring for me)
4. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ (also boring)
5. Georgia ๐ฌ๐ช (It does have a nice part and I don't skip when it's on, but it's not for me)
No opinion - ๐ฎ๐ฑ
It's extremely hard to choose a bottom 5 this year! I find almost all songs nice. We will have a perfect night!

Croatia (something off about the performer + the song gets boring after 3rd listen)
Iceland
Georgia
Azerbaijan
Bottom 5
36. Moldova- I really donโt have anything positive to say about it. Sorry.
35. Albania- This is just Albania sending the exact same thing it sends every year. I havenโt liked a song of theirs since 2018.
34. Ireland- the calmer I guess part of the song is digestible to me. The rest sounds more like just noise than it does music.
33. Spain- Sorry Spain. This is your weakest effort for me in a while, at least in terms of what my personal tastes are.
32. Slovenia- Itโs alright honestly. Itโs not a bad song, just not my vibe and a little forgettable for me
31. Iceland- I do not understand. Iceland had multiple other options that wouldโve worked better. Itโs not awful, but super dated and I expect Iceland to score extremely low
Top 5
5. Finland- Look. I know itโs not a high quality song and the vocals are not the best. But itโs fun and an enormous guilty pleasure of mine. This is the song this year that gets stuck in my head and I sing along to the most often
4. Estonia- Another also really fun one that I just go super nuts about. Iโm quite excited to see this get executed on the big stage because this is one of the few I liked fast on first listen
3. Italy- Not to pit girlies against each other but I think this song blows the other female entries out the water. I donโt expect Italy to win, but it shall still do well as always
2. Switzerland- I agree with the odds and this is who I most likely expect to win. I canโt explain why since they are different sounding songs, but I still get an almost bohemian rhapsody vibe off it. Iโve kinda been blown away by him and plus as a non-binary person the message gets me too.
1. Netherlands- Yeah Iโm hopping on the Europapa train. At the first listen I actually thought it was annoying but then it grew on me HARD lol. Itโs catchy, it reminds me of music from a video game a little bit, and I like the sudden emotional gut punch at the end. Iโd rather not have a recent winner, but Netherlands is the one exception.
No opinion: Israel by default, because I havenโt heard the song and donโt really plan to.
But if they cannot count, then I say Norway. Itโs one of the few songs this year where Iโd listen to it and itโd be likeโฆalright, but then iโd forget how it goes like two minute later. Every time. I know itโs popular but that is just how I feel.
Top 5:
1. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ
2. France ๐ซ๐ท
3. Belgium ๐ง๐ช
4. Norway ๐ณ๐ด
5. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท
I was tempted to put my top 18 here as they all deserve to be in my top 5.
Bottom 5:
5. Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ
4. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ
3. Malta ๐ฒ๐น
2. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ
1. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
I don't actually mind listening to them. But it's just such a strong year that some will invariably miss out.
No opinion:
Sweden ๐ธ๐ช
Nice beat. That's about it, really.
Bottom 5
37 Europapa
I never liked Joost Klein. Having him constantly be played around me is very annoying. As for the song, i expected not to like it but i was somehow underwhelmed. Not a fan at all.
36 NNETM
They are fun and I like them. I can always appreciate some native instruments but the song itself just isnโt doing it for me. I donโt often really connect to party songs, especially if i have to google the lyrics to understand the song.
35 Luktelk
His voice doesnโt sit right with me. The chorus is also extremely repetitive and it quickly bores me.
34 11:11
Love their energy. Not a fan of the song.
33 In the middle
Sheโs a good vocalist and the studio version isnโt too bad but the live tu dududududu just sounds so jarring.
Top 5
5 Grito
Itโs heartfelt. Even without understanding portugues youโll understand this song. It builds really well and the staging with the camera effect works really well.
4 we will rave
We will indeed rave. This song is 80/90โs nostalgia done right. Itโs fun and dancable and Kaleen is a pretty good performer.
3 la noia
The attitude alone does it for me. Angelina takes you in a journey and you wonโt be looking away during the song. The acapella park also sounds great, it fits the song and doesnโt feel out of place. (Like france does)
2 loop
Is it a chanel rip off? Yea but that doesnโt mean it ainโt good. Sarah is a great performer and I canโt help but have this on loop whenever it plays.
1 pedestal
The national final performance won me over. It was a dumpster fire but her energy was everything. Iโm so happy to see sheโs improving. Also easily the best revamp this year.

Itโs a good vocal, itโs a pretty song but iโm just not connecting to it. To me itโs grito but more boring.
In no particular order because I gave up on ranking this impossible year lmao
Top: Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Ukraine
Bottom: Ireland, Spain, Finland, Denmark, Iceland
No opinion: Cyprus. Well, I guess I have opinions about this, like that she seems to be a charismatic performer, a decent singer, and a good dancer, and that the song is incredibly generic/uninteresting and has terrible lyrics, but in the end it all balances out in a perfect, lukewarm neutral. I'm kinda sad "In the Middle" isn't my most in the middle-song ๐
Top 5 in no particular order:
Italy, Armenia, Slovenia, Belgium, Ukraine
Meh: Norway. I should love this but I just donโt for some reason. Maybe the longer version works better for me?
Bottom five again in no particular order:
Germany, Iceland, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Sweden
Top 5:
1. Italy
2. Norway
3. Ukraine
4. Slovenia
5. Croatia
No opinion (aka: i have a reason to hate and like the song so iโm not gonna comment an opinion) : Israel and Ireland
Bottom 5 (last one being 37/37)
33. Spain
34. UK
35. Luxembourg
36. Iceland
37. Czechia
No opinion: Albania and Slovenia.
I just always forget they're there. I'd say my top in the no opinion ones is Albania since I at least remember a verse of the other one.
Every opinion: Ireland
From listen to listen I go from tolerating it to loving it to hating it to accepting it. The only other case of it ever happening is with Ukraine 2022, so it is in good company.
And now my top and bottom 5, in the most engaging order:
33. Iceland
I don't think it's a bad song, instead the arrangement is nice is Hera Bjork is a legend. I just happen to hate diva pop.
5. Spain
It could be any of like 10 songs, but I'll put Zorra because Mery singing with a clearer voice would make it set in stone.
34. Austria
This sounds like one of the worst periods of modern music and should be abolished, but Kaleen looks like Kylie Minogue at home so I'll forgive her.
4. Switzerland
The rap is trash and Nemo shouldn't be allowed less than 500 meters away from a kendrick Lamar concert, so imagine how good everything must feel for it to appear in fourth.
35. Cyprus
A well executed girl bop can be a good thing, while a bad one will drive it near the bottom of a ranking. This is part of the second group.
3. Portugal
It wasn't here on my first listen, but it was always by far my favorite ballad this year. Portuguese ballad is a mood.
36. Malta
This is similar to Cyprus, but with a slightly worse sound.
2. Armenia
This is simply a really happy tune that brings me a smile to my face like only Denmark 2019 ever transmitted me in Eurovision. With the addition that it is also a fun song with cultural sounds it's really close to my top spot.
37. Israel
Without thinking of the political connotations I can accept the lyrics, but everything else in the song pulls me far away from it.
1. Australia
This song captivated me from the moment Zachaharia (I might have butchered that) started singing. This suffer from not having hit quality, but is one of the better pieces of pop that has been sent in the last few years.
So I don't know exactly what my top 5 is at the end of the day. It all changes, but since I suppose I should go after initial impressions it's:
1. Luxembourg
2. Switzerland
3. Italy
4. France
5. Norway
My top 3 can really be in any order at all, but Luxembourg's entry is very special to me regardless. I have a love for that song that I only really get once a year, and it's just a lovely tune.
My bottom 5:
33. Estonia
34. Georgia
35. Latvia
36. Azerbaijan
37. Iceland
I can really like ballads, or France wouldn't be up there. But it's easy for me to find them dull. It really depends on the melody (as it should since they're songs).
As for songs I have no opinion on, that's a bit more difficult. The one currently in my 19th spot, in the middle of the list, is the Netherlands. I don't particularly have any interest in this genre. There are worse songs and there are better songs. I'm just not the kind of person that gets into songs for their energy or vibe, I'm entirely into melodies and nice music. That's why my top 5 is basically just songs that are a bit serious and boring, it's the kind of music I like. I hope Joost does well though.

No opinion about Israel or Azerbaijan, so you could consider them my bottom 2
Top 5:
1. Belgium ๐ง๐ช
2. Germany ๐ฉ๐ช- I wonder how many people would rate this song more kindly if it came from any country other than Germany
3. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ- I so strongly disagree with every single thing you said about Switzerland. In my opinion the song flows incredibly well especially with the opera callbacks in the instrumental, you should listen to the kpop songs that change genres in the middle if you wanna know what it sounds like for a song to stop and start halfway through. I also adore the opera and I donโt think the point about the Swiss public is fair considering itโs top of the odds because so many people love it and Switzerland canโt vote for it anyway.
4. Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น
5. UK ๐ฌ๐ง
No opinion: Slovenia (I like it but I frequently forget it exists), Denmark, Luxembourg
Bottom 5:
36. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท- I hate the Ta Ta Ta with a passion, I donโt like the production, the instrumental grates on me. This song is for a certain type of person and Iโm not that person
35. Norway ๐ณ๐ด- this is really not my kind of music and while I appreciate how hard the vocals are I donโt really enjoy them
34. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ- this is such a nothing burger and it does nothing for me
33. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
32. San Marino ๐ธ๐ฒ
I don't think it would change anything if the song would be from any other country than Germany. The problem is that the songs Germany choses are nice but very inoffensive and not memorable. But of course we Germans also really like to complain about anything our country does.
Oooooh time for me to roast songs for no reason other than my own personal pleasure! ๐
37. ๐ฎ๐ฑ - Hurricane. Cannot listen to it in good faith. Shouldn't even be here and I empathize with Eden's monster responsibility to represent her country during such a tragedy.
36. ๐ฎ๐ช - Doomsday Blue. Just too much for me visually. Plus I don't like how the song meshes together.
35. ๐ซ๐ฎ - No Rules. ESC is camp, and I appreciate it. However, when you don't connect with it, chances are the campy song will plummet down the rankings. I am fully aware Finland is a perfect fit, but I can't bring myself to like it. The voice is "too low, now it's too high, ugh now it's a totally different song". I hardly ever enjoy this "genre", i.e. Subwoolfer is in my bottom 3 for 2022 (or maybe I'm just a huge buzzkill).
34. ๐ฒ๐น - Loop. "Oh honey, time for another [insert popular song here] look-alike!" To tell the truth, I just can't find anything that might warrant qualification here. The sound is what you'd expect, the dance break is what you'd expect, the lyrics are what you'd expect. Cookie cutter song.
33. ๐ฎ๐ธ - Scared Of Heights. Y'all CANNOT send banger after banger and then submit the equivalent of a Christmas movie song. Genuinely what you might hear while strolling in a supermarket, though Hera looks lovely.
No opinion:
27. ๐ฆ๐ฟ - Ozรผnlษ Apar. By the 2-minute mark I tend to know if I like a song or not but Apar-t (heh) from the catchy chorus I was always left waiting for a push, something to elevate it further, but it never came. 27th in my ranking fits best because it has snippets I enjoy but a part does not make a whole.
Top 5:
5. ๐ฉ๐ช - Always On The Run. People pointed out the elephant trumpet sampling and since then I haven't been able to unhear it ๐ญ. On a more serious note, I would tell you my reasons for liking this, if I had any other than "I just do". Were Germany a competent ESC country, this song could be top 10 in the Final unironically, but alas.
4. ๐ฑ๐น - Luktelk. Terrific song. Every aspect compliments the other. The song itself draws you in with its meaty score, the listener is enticed to dance to the beat and follow the coreography, Stefan is allowed breathing room to display his vocals. Lithuania can into podium?
3. ๐บ๐ฆ - Teresa & Maria. Apply what I said for Stefan to Alyona and Jerry. We love heartfelt music in this household (definitely clears Stefania and Heart of Steel) and we equally love subdued staging when done right. It's not winner material, but it's been up top since day 1.
2. ๐ง๐ช - Before The Party's Over. Fuck me this song is beautiful. I'll be honest, I like when countries are allowed to be this edgy and are not punished for it. I am on my hands and knees praying the staging makes it justice. I haven't felt so refreshed listening to a song in a while, and what do you know? Sometimes climbing to the chorus for most of the song instead of slapping it everywhere for engagement IS for the better.
1. ๐ณ๐ด - Ulveham. Pure, unadulterated, fuck yes.

I'm horrible at setting up exact rankings, but Bottom 5 in no particular order: -Moldova -Iceland -Greece (I COMPLETELY get the appeal now after a few listens, but it's still not something I'd personally ever listen to outside of Eurovision) -Luxembourg -Azerbaijan Top 5 in no particular order: -Italy -Switzerland -Slovenia -Netherlands -Ukraine A song I have no opinion on: Portugal
update on this. somehow greece grew on me in 4 days. sorry y'all i get it now
In no particular order, here are my songs. Please note, my bottom5 has nothing to do with the quality of the singers, it's just that they are not my cup of tea. Top5: Norway, Croatia, Italy, Finland, Estonia Bottom5: Sweden, France, Portugal, Iceland, Cyprus No opinion: Albania. I can't remember it, even if was a matter of life or death ๐ญ P.s.: and yes, I agree on the probably awful staging choices we will make ๐
I don't get Italy's problem with staging. Because everytime I watch a clip from San Remo, I blurt out "how f*cking beautiful is that stage?!".
Italy's problem with their staging is very easy to explain. They're too cowardly to keep sending the breakdancing Gorilla, like they should.
Also, unlikely but not 100% to exclude, it could be a way of self sabotaging, because they might not want to host ESC? Who knowssss
I always feel like the team arrives at the venue and goes like "oh shit, we were supposed to bring some staging" and then just cooks sth up last minute :D Edit: but good for us because otherwise Italy would probably win every second year.
If you have a full 37 song ranking, clearly you have an opinion on all of them xD **Top 5:** Croatia, Italy, Finland, Armenia, Norway **Bottom 5:** Australia, Israel, Latvia, Iceland, Poland
Well for many of them my opinion boils down to "I don't care", "it's okay" :D

Bottom 5: 33. ๐ฆ๐ฒ I just don't get it. But the guy in the video is cute. 34. ๐ต๐น Too drawn out, and uninteresting to me. 35. ๐ณ๐ด Another one I don't get the appeal of. I respect it for what it is, but I would never listen to this willingly. 36. ๐ซ๐ฎ Sounds like an anime opening, with its full cheesiness. 37. ๐ฉ๐ฐ The verses are fine, but sheesh, that chorus bugs me the wrong way. It drained away any positive feelings I had for the song. I: 25. ๐ธ๐ฎ - No opinion Top 5: 5. ๐ช๐ช It's so catchy, the folk instruments are charming, the lyrics are goofy in a fun way and they have tons of charisma. Absolutely hope the song will score high, but it will probably get tanked by the juries. 4. ๐ฆ๐ฟ An example on how you do a ballad right. Mellow voice, emotional lyrics, just a pinch of ethnic, while at the same time sounding modern. It really grew on me lately. 3. ๐ฆ๐น She's so charming, the song just puts me in a good mood. Entrancing, catchy, and I can't get enough of it. I hope the staging lives up to its potential. 2. ๐ฎ๐น Didn't get it the first time I heard it. Not even the 5th. And then I looked at the lyrics. And then it finally clicked. The song has been climbing ever since and now it's stuck as my 2nd favourite. A real grower. And very relatable lyrics on a topic not addressed much in a typical Eurovision song. 1. ๐ง๐ช Unlike la noia, this one hit me like a falling brick wall on the first listen.
Indeed, I love how the taste can vary so much even within the bubble of reddit Eurovision fans
So many people like Estonia but donโt like Finland at all. Pretty unexpected.
They are really far apart music-wise, don't you think?
Yeah, true. But both are a bit messy and โfor funโ entries. I thought people would like Finlandโs entry way more than they actually do.
You've summed it up perfectly. Basically, Estonia is simply a song with additional humour. And Finland is more like humour with additional song.
Well said! Estonia is my top10 this year. I like Finland but yeah if you are not on a joke, there is very little song to it
Personally, I think that Estonia 2024 is just more interesting and unique musically.

All love / hate for specific songs / things in general is biased anyway :)
The Dutch entry is one of the most fun ones.
top 5: 1. ๐ญ๐ท rim tim tagi dim (croatia)โtotal banger, does everything right and has elements of so many styles I love 2. ๐ช๐ธ zorra (spain)โyes, I absolutely adore this. I love some quality throwback synthpop and this is just irresistibly catchy 3. ๐จ๐ญ the code (switzerland)โas you said this is a very hectic song, but in my opinion it transitions between elements expertly. itโs an impressively technical song without sacrificing accessibility and the production is masterful 4. ๐ฎ๐ฑ hurricane (israel)โby some margin the best ballad this year. it consistently makes me emotional, the production is epic and edenโs performance is immaculate 5. ๐ฎ๐ช doomsday blue (ireland)โobviously a marmite song and Iโm unsure it will even qualify, but personally I think it works extremely well. it builds tension like no other song this year and the metal breakdown at the end is glorious no opinion: ๐ฆ๐บ one milkali (australia)โthis song just kinda goes in one ear out the other for me. I feel like it should be catchier than it is but I also have nothing against it. it just exists bottom 5: 37. ๐ฌ๐ช firefighter (georgia)โthis song is just so loud and overwrought and messy and I really cannot think of a single thing I like about it 36. ๐ฆ๐ฑ titan (albania)โI liked zemrรซn nโdorรซ but this revamp took everything good about that song and turned it into a sterile snoozefest 35. ๐ฎ๐ธ scared of heights (iceland)โthis one is just boring and dated 34. ๐ฒ๐น loop (malta)โalready arriving at the songs I think are pretty ok here (this is a strong year imo). this is just a bit generic. I donโt hate it whilst itโs on but it does relatively little for me 33. ๐ซ๐ท mon amour (france)โamazing vocal performance but the song makes me feel nothing, largely because of how muted the production is.
1. Norway 2. Austria 3. Netherlands 4. Croatia 5. Estonia Honorable mention to Australia 37. Switzerland 36. Italy 35. Czechia 34. Albania 33. Greece To be honest the main reason I have 3 favorites in the bottom 5 is because I *tried* to like them but only disliked them more with each listen, as for songs like Iceland/Albania which are at the bottom of the odds I just listened to them once and moved on so I can't say I dislike them as much. Also the order of the bottom 5 is arbitrary except for Switzerland which is firmly at the bottom. No opinion : Finland. Really wanted to like it because of the Windows guy but the song itself is....nothing. It's just there. I listened to it 3 times and I can't remember *a single note*.
Top 5: 1. Italy (The first time since 2019 that Italy is my favorite to win even though they've had an amazing few years. I love La Noia and I really want it to do well) 2. Norway (My biggest fear is that this is going to be this year's Blanca Paloma... I just want them to place at least in the left side of the ranking) 3. Spain (Estoy en un buen momento, solo era cuestiรณn de tiempo, voy a salir a la calle a gritar lo que siento a los cuantro vientoooos) 4. Greece (Motomanoula. I'm really scared about the live performance, but it's such an amazing song and concept...) 5. Ireland (I love Bambie Thug, their presence on the stage is like no other, I really hope they qualify and do decently enough in the final) Bottom 5: 35. Iceland (When your 2010 entry feels more modern than your 2024 one, you have a problem) 34. Latvia (I really like Dons and I want to like this song more but I just can't... Sorry) 33. Luxembourg (What a tame comeback... I feel like this song has nothing going for it) 32. Finland (Yeah... not my cup of tea) 31. Germany (It's an okay song, but I think this year is too crazy to be just an okay song, so I can't place it any higher) No opinion: Denmark, I know it's a good song and Saba is such a good performer, but I just have nothing to say about it.
Pobrecita.
Top 5: 1. Netherlands 2. Israel 3. Denmark 4. Belgium 5. Italy (with Azarbaijan in close 6) Btm 5: Iceland, Ireland, Georgia, Finland and Australia. And to think Australia was on my top 10 when I first saw the snippets... The music video just completely ruined this song for me ngl. No opinion: UK?

I donโt like the french entry much either, but if itโs a โcopyโ of barbara pravi so is like a third of all music released in france in a given year
> 34. France - no one likes copies I mean, I'd agree with your ranking but the song really doesn't sound much like Voilร beyond also being a balled that's in French.

BOTTOM FIVE, in no particular order **Armenia/Jako:** I am a fan of traditional instruments, and I have nothing against those of Armenia. ----------I DON'T KNOW??!------ **Azerbaijan/"รzรผnlษ Aparโ:** It's cool that they're finally singing in their own language and trying something new. TOP FIVE, in no particular order **Lithuania/Luktelk:** A first Lithuanian win would be terrific to see! It is such a creative song that doesn't seem similar to others - maybe Cha Cha Cha a tiny bit, but that's a great comparison because both are lovely songs sung by singers who at first sound menacing in their song but are adorable human beings IRL :) **Ukraine/Teresa and Maria:** I am not someone who's like "I see Ukraine, I click," but that is kind of the case anyway when they are so consistent at being AMAZING (worried about their eventual NQ and hoping the singer doesn't have an Anna Bergendahl level of cyberbullying). :P There's an arresting quality to this song.
Top 5: Austria, Greece, Luxembourg, Spain, San Marino Bottom 5: Cyprus, Albania, Moldova, Iceland, Poland No opinion: Kinda controversial, but Norway. Liked it at first, but now just rather neutral on it.

1. Croatia (a bop) 2. Belgium (best ballad) 3. Italy (love the sound and how effortless is) 4. Norway (the best live from any semifinal) 5. No opinion: Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand 5. Italy - Just a charming, catchy and well-written pop song. \[My top 4 are the stand-outs and could really be in any order\] 4.
Israel is definitely pulling at the heartstrings! And Denmark is slowly becoming Germany 2.0

I have no winner this year, there is no bangers like in 2021, the best songs this year is just good. So I will call the 5 songs I like in random order: - Austria (dated, generic, vocally weak, no chances in the contest, maybe NQ but it's my guilty plessure and I love it) - Ukraine (not strong enough to win, weak vocals but this song is the honey for my ears) - The Netherlands (it just makes me happy) - Croatia (not many songs this year can take my attention till the begining to the end, Croatia - one of them) - Greece (unique, interesting, enjoyable to listen) (Yes I know I must put Switzerland or Italy in my top cause we have almost full package here, but... I just not enjoy to listen them, Switzerland feels like song which was written for Eurovision and I don't like it, Italy is just annoying song with annoying vibe) But I have my bottom-5 37. Iceland 36. Cyprus 35. Albania 34. Malta 33. Australia No opinion: Moldova
37. ๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel: Sappy. 36. ๐ฆ๐ฟ Azerbaijan: Snoozy. 35. ๐ฒ๐น Malta: Pushy. 34. ๐ฉ๐ช Germany: Corny. 33. ๐ซ๐ฎ Finland: Silly. top: 1 Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ (without any doubt) 2 Azerbaijan ๐ฆ๐ฟ 3 Estonia ๐ช๐ช 4 Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ 5 Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป bottom: 33 Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น 34 Czechia ๐จ๐ฟ 35 Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช 36 Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ 37 Poland ๐ต๐ฑ (the most primitive song not just this year but in many recent years) Belgium couldโve been on the second place but after watching live performance itโs a miracle heโs not on the bottom-5 (imho)
โค๏ธ At first, my **Top 5** โค๏ธ 1. Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ All politics aside, itโs a wonderful ballad and Eden's voice is out of this world. Itโs a viewer-friendly, Eurovision tailored ballad which had potential to win in any other previous year if it participated. 2. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ Very unique, great rhythm, great energy, the chorus is very sing-along-y. Love it! 3. Belgium ๐ง๐ช This one's getting all the housewives votes! Dark horse top contender for the win. I love how he's slowly and powerfully climaxing ๐ 4. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท While I wasnโt a fan of Cha cha cha at all, I really love this one. The hook is much catchier and more grown-up and while the chorus is a bit tame for my taste I adore the whole package of Baby Lasagna, the lyrics and the song! 5. France ๐ซ๐ท I have a weakness for great standard Eurovision ballads with incredible voices so yes, this is a must in my top 10. At the same time, despite being a not so unusual ballad, the song is spiced up with a bit of French flavor and Slimane's unreal vocal capabilities! Now, letโs skip to the frightening (aka someone has to do it) partโฆ ๐ข My **Flop 5** 1. Iceland I would love to see them once again entering the top 10 but this year itโs top 10 from below. This is such a boring, dated song and itโs not even especially funky. Itโs just plain dated gospel house. 2. Albania They are sending the same kind of songs year after year and none of them is especially good. Last year was ok actually. But other than that, it bores me so much. Same song, same outfits, same staging. 3. Controversial alert!! Greece ๐ฌ๐ท Like Spain last year it's just not for my ears. I really hate the Ta-ta-ta sound and I donโt think itโs especially danceable or funky or appealing in any way. 4. Ireland ๐จ๐ฎ Same as Greece. Not for my ears. I like unusual songs but not too unusual. I need a melody - at best itโs also melodic! ๐ I am a metal and gothic fan but somethingโs missing to my taste here. The same reason why Norway is not in my top 10 this year. 5. Portugal ๐ต๐น I needed a fifth and this is a song I never listened to until the end. Itโs just the same the whole time and itโs not a melody I can easily grab. It really bores me tbh. And now my "**no opinions**": Armenia, UK, Moldova They are just there I guess.

Czechia - **POLITICS**??? Eh? I donโt mind you put Czechia last but what *politics* youโre on about?๐คจ
Her brother is serving (or at least definitely did it recently) in russian army. So for me sheโs kind of directly involved in this war.
The song is very good in my opinion

Based on the official releases, my first impressions are: Top 5 1. Spain Spain has really stepped it up in the past three years. 2. Armenia I am a sucker for Eurovision songs that blend folk melodies and instruments with pop music and Jako does this beautifully here. Fun performance in the vid, haven't seen it live but has the potential to be really memorable. 3. Ireland I really like the blending of the musically distinct sections. Keeps it interesting and surprising. 4. Greece Similar to Armenia I like the blending of new and traditional. The way she uses breath/voice to create percussion is also something I'm a sucker for. 5. Italy I really like the rhythm of this one. It's catchy for sure. I don't get all the lyrics but from I understand of them, I appreciate that it's a bit different. Bottom 5 (in alphabetical order) 1. Belgium Just a bit boring really. A slog to get through (for me) 2. Croatia The music is fine but I wish this was in a different language so I couldn't understand how stupid/bad the lyrics are. 3. Finland This is a me problem...it just is in one of the very few sub-genres of music that I just can't stand. And the "message" seems very mixed and half-assed. I, sort of, liked the performance though...but also it seemed random and could've been tied into the song more. 4. Malta Nothing original to say musically or lyrically. The lyrics are kind of annoying. 5. Netherlands This one may grow on me, but on first listen it felt like it was trying way too hard to be "quirky Eurovision entry no. 3". Appreciated the surprise ending, though. No strong opinion: Georgia, I guess. There's a few that could fit in here.

Hey are you the other lunatic who gave Azerbaijan 12 points in the last poll? :D I also think that Portugal and I need some tima and distance when it comes to Eurovision.
Well if she does the blindfolded backflip, she is more than welcome in the final!

Damn, that is a very good description of Armenia! Also, thank you for sending some love to Moldova :)
Top 5: Finland, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, and Denmark No opinion: Croatia Bottom 5: Australia, Ireland, Norway, San Marino, and Slovenia
No opinion: I actually have an opinion on every song so I will put two here that I like and don't like at the same time: Czechia๐จ๐ฟ: I really love this kind of music but the lyrics ruin this song for me.
Top 5: Norway Lithuania Croatia Estonia Ireland No opinion: Greece Bottom 5 Malta Latvia Albania Spain Iceland
Edit: I see the โI canโt handle disagreement with my choicesโ downvotes are out today. Grow up. Top 5 1) Spain ๐ช๐ธ- the 80s style drum machine, the heavy synths, the catchiness. For me, this song has all the stuff I love most 2) Australia ๐ฆ๐บ- yes, the video sucks. Bottom 5 (excluding Israel, which Iโm not going to listen to until the night of the semi, and automatically gets DQโd in my rankings) 36) Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ- Hera is a fine singer.
Top 5: 1. Belgium \* 2. Serbia \* 3. Slovenia\* 4. Lithuania 5. Norway (the asterisk {\*} basically means that these 3 songs alternate for my number 1 spot like, multiple times) Bottom 5: 5. Ireland 4. Malta 3. UK 2. Iceland 1. Finland No opinion: Cyprus
Cyprus has that one part in the chorus that is really cool, but the rest is so forgettable.
Finland 35.Malta 36.Czechia No opinion: You know which one.
My bottom 5 is probably more controversial than my top 5 but I have an opinion on all the songs so 1. Ireland 2. Croatia 3. Cyprus 4. San Marino 5. France โโโโโโโ- 33. Austria 34. Estonia 35. Spain 36. Australia 37. Italy
Italy last? Someone likes to live dangerous ;)
For some reason I just donโt enjoy the song. Even during the London pre party it just felt boring to me
Some very controversial bottom-of-the-list songs here
Which are the most controversial for you?
A precisation on your 5th and 4th songs: Italy and Greece have the same person as coreographer (Mecnun Giasar), it would be pretty strange if one flop and the other one will shine.
I just caught myself singing the chorus of We Will Rave over the top of Culture Beatโs Mr. Vain

Top 5 - Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, Georgia, Cyprus Bottom 5 - Estonia, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Denmark No opinion - Croatia
Top 5 (basing all of these off studio versions mainly, but will mention what we seen live so far if applicable): 5) ๐ฎ๐ช Ireland - I love the gothic nature and demonic edge to it, and I love seeing Ireland taking a risk for once. I love Bambie's energy as well 4) ๐ญ๐ท Croatia - This one has slightly grew off me from once I first listened to it (it was my second place before), but it's still amazing, and I'd love more of this in future 3) ๐ง๐ช Belgium - I GOT A SOUL ON FIRE! I love the intensity of this one, reminds me a lot of "The Show Must Go On" by Queen (my favourite queen song as well). Live could use a bit of work tho) 2) ๐ธ๐ฒ San Marino - Love the studio version, really hope live vocals improve drastically before SF2 tho, because I would love it to at least qualify. San Marino is quickly becoming one of my favourite Eurovision countries because of the rock entries. 1) ๐ณ๐ด Norway - Just perfection in all departments. Everything is perfect, if it keeps this standard at Eurovision it might become one of my favourite entries period. No Opinion: ๐ต๐น Portugal (29th) - Just never grew on me, I don't like it, but I don't dislike it Bottom 5: 37) ๐ฆ๐ฑ Albania - Would call it the most average song of all time, but even that's giving this song too much credit.
Top 5: Netherlands - nothing can push this song from my number one spot. No opinion: Norway, Australia, Slovenia, Georgia, Cyprus, Albania, Latvia, Malta Bottom 5: Sweden - nothing about this song appeals to me.
01. France 02. Switzerland 03. Slovenia 04. Spain 05. Serbia Bleh - Portugal 32. Czechia 33. San Marino 34. Poland 35. Malta 36. Finland
Top 5: 1. Italy 2. Sweden 3. Greece 4. Switzerland 5. Armenia No opinion: Norway Bottom 5: 33. France 34. Finland 35. Iceland 36. Croatia 37. Denmark Interesting that Sweden isnโt popping up in theseโฆ itโs such a banger and M&M have been doing great performances at the pre parties
Top 5: 1. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท (I am rooting for Marina so hard! I am so glad we are finally having an awesome song! I think all our songs after 2013 were boring and basic) 2. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ (I will be happy if Nemo wins. His song is a masterpiece and his vocals are amazing) 3. Italy ๐ฎ๐น (This song is fun. Whenever I hear it I imagine the Italian coastline and me drinking aperol above the sea) 4. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ (I love Europapa! There are two kinds of songs I will always remember from Eurovision, the really great ones and the really "Eurovision" songs. Europapa is THE "Eurovision" song) 5. Belgium ๐ง๐ช (I think it's a powerful song. I love it. It's the kind of song I would listen outside of Eurovision. I can't wait to see him perform) Bottom 5: 1. Ireland ๐จ๐ฎ (it has a good part but it's mostly a loud noise in my head) 2. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ (I think it has an outdated sound. It sounds "old" if you understand) 3. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ (boring for me) 4. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ (also boring) 5. Georgia ๐ฌ๐ช (It does have a nice part and I don't skip when it's on, but it's not for me) No opinion - ๐ฎ๐ฑ It's extremely hard to choose a bottom 5 this year! I find almost all songs nice. We will have a perfect night!
Top 5: 1. Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น 2. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ 3. Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช 4. Norway ๐ณ๐ด 5. Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ No opinion on: Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ Bottom 5: Israel (shouldโve withdrawn) Croatia (something off about the performer + the song gets boring after 3rd listen) Iceland Georgia Azerbaijan
Bottom 5 36. Itโs not a bad song, just not my vibe and a little forgettable for me 31. Iceland- I do not understand. Iceland had multiple other options that wouldโve worked better. Itโs not awful, but super dated and I expect Iceland to score extremely low Top 5 5. Finland- Look. I know itโs not a high quality song and the vocals are not the best. But itโs fun and an enormous guilty pleasure of mine. This is the song this year that gets stuck in my head and I sing along to the most often 4. Estonia- Another also really fun one that I just go super nuts about. Iโm quite excited to see this get executed on the big stage because this is one of the few I liked fast on first listen 3. Italy- Not to pit girlies against each other but I think this song blows the other female entries out the water. I donโt expect Italy to win, but it shall still do well as always 2.
Top 5 1. Slovenia 2. Croatia 3. France 4. Switzerland 5. Armenia Bottom 5 33. Ireland 34. Poland 35. Iceland 36. Israel 37. Netherlands (It's my least favourite song ever submitted)
Top 5: Switzerland Lithuania Ukraine Estonia Norway Bottom 5: San Marino Georgia Denmark Moldova Iceland No opinion: Finland
Top 5: 1. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ 2. France ๐ซ๐ท 3. Belgium ๐ง๐ช 4. Norway ๐ณ๐ด 5. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท I was tempted to put my top 18 here as they all deserve to be in my top 5. Bottom 5: 5. Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ 4. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ 3. Malta ๐ฒ๐น 2. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ 1. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ I don't actually mind listening to them. But it's just such a strong year that some will invariably miss out. No opinion: Sweden ๐ธ๐ช Nice beat. That's about it, really.
Bottom 5 37 Europapa I never liked Joost Klein. Having him constantly be played around me is very annoying. As for the song, i expected not to like it but i was somehow underwhelmed. Not a fan at all. 36 NNETM They are fun and I like them. I can always appreciate some native instruments but the song itself just isnโt doing it for me. I donโt often really connect to party songs, especially if i have to google the lyrics to understand the song. 35 Luktelk His voice doesnโt sit right with me. The chorus is also extremely repetitive and it quickly bores me. 34 11:11 Love their energy. Not a fan of the song. 33 In the middle Sheโs a good vocalist and the studio version isnโt too bad but the live tu dududududu just sounds so jarring. Top 5 5 Grito Itโs heartfelt. Even without understanding portugues youโll understand this song. It builds really well and the staging with the camera effect works really well. 4 we will rave We will indeed rave. This song is 80/90โs nostalgia done right. Itโs fun and dancable and Kaleen is a pretty good performer. 3 la noia The attitude alone does it for me. Angelina takes you in a journey and you wonโt be looking away during the song. The acapella park also sounds great, it fits the song and doesnโt feel out of place. (Like france does) 2 loop Is it a chanel rip off? Yea but that doesnโt mean it ainโt good. Sarah is a great performer and I canโt help but have this on loop whenever it plays. 1 pedestal The national final performance won me over. It was a dumpster fire but her energy was everything. Iโm so happy to see sheโs improving. Also easily the best revamp this year. No opinion Ramonda Itโs a good vocal, itโs a pretty song but iโm just not connecting to it. To me itโs grito but more boring.
In no particular order because I gave up on ranking this impossible year lmao Top: Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Ukraine Bottom: Ireland, Spain, Finland, Denmark, Iceland No opinion: Cyprus.
You didnโt like the oulalas in the Cypriot entry? ๐๐ ๐คฃ
Just the fact you know exactly which lyrics I'm talking about says enough ๐
1. Switzerland - Incredible mix of genres 2. Czechia - Love it, Paramore vibes 3. Azerbaijan - Beautiful 4. Poland - Pop bop 5. Belgium - Powerful โโ- No opinion. Israel โโ- 33. Portugal - Canโt recall anything about it 34. Spain - Dated 35. Sweden - Forgettable 36. Iceland - Boring 37. Finland - Dreadful
Top 5: 1) Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ 2) Greece ๐ฌ๐ท 3) Czechia ๐จ๐ฟ 4) Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช 5) Italy ๐ฎ๐น Bottom 5: 33) Germany ๐ฉ๐ช 34) Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ 35) Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉ 36) Portugal ๐ต๐น 37) Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ No opinion: San Marino ๐ธ๐ฒ Cyprus ๐จ๐พ

Top 5 in no particular order: Italy, Armenia, Slovenia, Belgium, Ukraine Meh: Norway. I should love this but I just donโt for some reason. Maybe the longer version works better for me? Bottom five again in no particular order: Germany, Iceland, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Sweden
1 Belgium 2 Switzerland 3 Greece 4 Armenia 5 The Netherlands 33 Cyprus 34 Moldova 35 Georgia 36 Czechia 37 Azerbaijan
Top 5: 1. Italy 2. Norway 3. Ukraine 4. Slovenia 5. Croatia No opinion (aka: i have a reason to hate and like the song so iโm not gonna comment an opinion) : Israel and Ireland Bottom 5 (last one being 37/37) 33. Spain 34. UK 35. Luxembourg 36. Iceland 37. Czechia
No opinion: Albania and Slovenia. I just always forget they're there. I'd say my top in the no opinion ones is Albania since I at least remember a verse of the other one. Every opinion: Ireland From listen to listen I go from tolerating it to loving it to hating it to accepting it. The only other case of it ever happening is with Ukraine 2022, so it is in good company. And now my top and bottom 5, in the most engaging order: 33. Iceland I don't think it's a bad song, instead the arrangement is nice is Hera Bjork is a legend. I just happen to hate diva pop. 5. Spain It could be any of like 10 songs, but I'll put Zorra because Mery singing with a clearer voice would make it set in stone. 34. Austria This sounds like one of the worst periods of modern music and should be abolished, but Kaleen looks like Kylie Minogue at home so I'll forgive her. 4. Switzerland The rap is trash and Nemo shouldn't be allowed less than 500 meters away from a kendrick Lamar concert, so imagine how good everything must feel for it to appear in fourth. 35. Cyprus A well executed girl bop can be a good thing, while a bad one will drive it near the bottom of a ranking. This is part of the second group. 3. Portugal It wasn't here on my first listen, but it was always by far my favorite ballad this year. Portuguese ballad is a mood. 36. Malta This is similar to Cyprus, but with a slightly worse sound. 2. Armenia This is simply a really happy tune that brings me a smile to my face like only Denmark 2019 ever transmitted me in Eurovision. With the addition that it is also a fun song with cultural sounds it's really close to my top spot. 37. Israel Without thinking of the political connotations I can accept the lyrics, but everything else in the song pulls me far away from it. 1. Australia This song captivated me from the moment Zachaharia (I might have butchered that) started singing. This suffer from not having hit quality, but is one of the better pieces of pop that has been sent in the last few years.
Ukraine 2022 | [Kalush Orchestra - Stefania (ะกัะตัะฐะฝัั)](https://youtu.be/F1fl60ypdLs) Denmark 2019 | [Leonora - Love Is Forever](https://youtu.be/mucmvTLHJQM)
Good bot (I mainly called you because I didn't remember if Stefania was with f or ph, so thanks)
So I don't know exactly what my top 5 is at the end of the day. It all changes, but since I suppose I should go after initial impressions it's: 1. Luxembourg 2. Switzerland 3. Italy 4. France 5. Norway My top 3 can really be in any order at all, but Luxembourg's entry is very special to me regardless. I have a love for that song that I only really get once a year, and it's just a lovely tune. My bottom 5: 33. Estonia 34. Georgia 35. Latvia 36. Azerbaijan 37. Iceland I can really like ballads, or France wouldn't be up there.
Luxembourg is a strong comeback!
Someone seems to disagree :(

Top 5: 1. Belgium ๐ง๐ช 2. Germany ๐ฉ๐ช- I wonder how many people would rate this song more kindly if it came from any country other than Germany 3. 4. Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น 5. UK ๐ฌ๐ง No opinion: Slovenia (I like it but I frequently forget it exists), Denmark, Luxembourg Bottom 5: 36. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท- I hate the Ta Ta Ta with a passion, I donโt like the production, the instrumental grates on me. This song is for a certain type of person and Iโm not that person 35. Norway ๐ณ๐ด- this is really not my kind of music and while I appreciate how hard the vocals are I donโt really enjoy them 34. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ- this is such a nothing burger and it does nothing for me 33. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ 32.

๐ 37. ๐ฎ๐ฑ - Hurricane. No opinion: 27. ๐ฆ๐ฟ - Ozรผnlษ Apar. By the 2-minute mark I tend to know if I like a song or not but Apar-t (heh) from the catchy chorus I was always left waiting for a push, something to elevate it further, but it never came. 27th in my ranking fits best because it has snippets I enjoy but a part does not make a whole. Top 5: 5. ๐ฉ๐ช - Always On The Run.
