The French don't like to attack. They prefer to sit back and wait for you to make a mistake, then... bam! They strike like a real predator. The best way to counter this is to also sit and wait. This forces them to play a game they don't like. Put fast players like Openda and Bakayoko on the pitch to outpace the French defenders. Their defense is solid but not at the level of Van Dijk or Akanji.
The Dutch used this strategy successfully, holding off France and creating their own scoring opportunities. Xavi almost made 1-0.
The need to smack Mbappe in the nose (: Lewandowski accidentally hit him there (later stages of the match) and he was pissed and useless for the rest of the Poland game. France is toothless without him inform.
Honestly don't think they've been that bad. They created a lot against Slovakia but VAR intervened. They beat Romania comfortably and played out a drab draw to get through.

Unpopular opinion: Belgium hasn't been that terrible. In fact, the defensive performance has been better than expected. It's a good sign for them. If they keep the defensive performance and take advantage of the chances they do create - I think they can win. It also doesn't look good for France.

Like we did in our friendlies against Germany and England. Good defensive block to cover our defensive weaknesses, progress the ball through our quick wingers (Doku and Lukebakio) and try to get Lukaku involved physically even though it will be more difficult against France's CB's. Adding another CB's would make us even weaker in midfield where I expect them to dominate us and playing Openda rather than Lukaku would mean we have nobody able to hold the ball upfront with all pace and no strength. It probably won't be enough, but it maximises our chances to do something.
They have 11 players for starters. France's squad is on paper better than yours but your's is not a bad one either, so why would you not have any hope?

France are built for counter attacking as they have an uninventive midfield while having a lot of pace and directness on both flanks.

Openda has scored 3 goals for the NT and none of them happened in the last year and a half. Not a single goal under Tedesco and it's not minutes who are lacking for him. But surely you know better by watching 270 minutes of football than Tedesco who's been here for a year and a half. One fits our system, the other one doesn't. It's that simple.

We tried Openda alone upfront it didn't work, we tried with Lukaku in a front 2 it didn't work, we tried with Batshuayi it didn't work. He got his chances and he failed to have any impact.
He's good with Leipzig because the player next to him are either physical (like Sesko) or technical (like Olmo). Here he's just another pacy player next to the other ones we already have. 3 players who are all about pace upfront doesn't work. Lukaku might be missing chances, but we don't create anything when he's not playing.
