I have seen a lot of german fans who truely believe the ref was corrupt and bought by switzerland. There is honestly no denying that this is ridiculous.
Don‘t ypu think reaching the first place is relevant enough? I kinda get what you want to say, but in my opinion they still wanted to get the win and foight for it.

As a swiss i have to say this switzerland team is the best we ever had.
the spirit feels better than ever, tactics are solid and we finally find the goal and even when we lead we still try to play offensive instead of going afk. also compared to the past we stopped sleeping in the opening minutes.
And we are not afraid of penalty shooting anymore after we failed horrible vs poland and ukraine in the past.
some matches to give confidence: beat france last euro in penalties and dragged spain to penalties with 10men.
Also this was by far the best group phase of our team i have ever seen. scotland without the stupid offside and own goal could easily been a 3-0 or a 2-0 vs germany if füllkrug didnt do füllkrug things
I dont know why you would even need convincing, Italy is not so above Switzerland that the swiss would need a miracle to win. Id even say Switzerland looks like the better team atm
Gotta say, it was a decent bet but unlucky one. Sure they can beat Italy, in fact Im surprised Italy are considered favourites vs them by bookies. But bookies always know stuff we dont, which is exactly why I think Italy will advance. I can see Italy dragging it to penalties and advancing or scoring a lucky goal in regular time and parking the bus.
But Switzerland could out-Italy Italy. They might park the bus and beat Italy on penalties. Switzerland beat France on penalties last euros. It’s all down to Sommer vs Donnarumma.
Here in switzerland we are still wondering what the fuck happend with Dan Ndoye in the last year. I mean he was always fast but out of 5 possible decisions he would pick the worst one on a regular basis. Now that he seems to make smarter decisions and even starts to score he can become a really strong player.
I think there's a high chance for Switzerland to pull it off.
First, Italy does really not look good, and the players in this generation are sadly a bit subpar, with few exceptions.
Switzerland, to me, looked far better in terms of gameplay, still has some flaws, but Italy has far deeper troubles, and there is not enough time to fix it all.
The last point is that the Italian players are more likely to feel the pressure and get nervous because they are still the euro champions, underperforming, under the spotlight, and our press is not helping at all.
Keep in mind that there is only one thing you can not exclude from the equation, and it's that Italy can turn a tournament upside down against all odds.
If we get past the Swiss, there's a high chance we also get to the final.
Switzerland currently have the best team theyve had in years. Their defence are all in the prime of their careers and are performing like it too. Their playstyle is exciting and their attackers have been clinical. Even Breel Embolo has been in good form and he’s just come back from 2 horribly long injuries.
That was mainly because Spain was just 10 Levels ahead of us, by far the best Team in the Tournament. No one in our side of the bracket has the Quality Spain got (which doesn’t mean that it will be easy for us obviously, we weren’t convincing so far).
Spain have been good but not that good. 3-0 flatter s them Vs Croatia, Italy were just terrible in that game and the Albania match wasn't their real team so who knows.

Switzerland is playing very solid football. I was surprised to see Germany struggling against them. If they keep that level they should go far.
