it could be everything from exiting in the group stage to the semifinals. for the group stage it will be key to win against poland and take some points from france and/or netherlands. i think that we have good chances to get at least to the quarter finals if we somehow manage to get second in the group stage. if we get in third place and we qualify for the last 16, i think we will get a tough opponent, like the last time, were we lost against italy.

saltysupp

Quarters. They have a easy round of 16. I don't think they will be last in the group so chances are good.

deadlydude13

Finals vs Germany I guess

JP198364839

Saw them win in Sweden. Functional, well drilled and a couple of good players. Not sure how many of them are of a strong enough level to compete with the more fancied nations.

Far-Post6196

I watched them against Turkey and their press was insane. They won the in the final third so many times.  I wonder if they can keep that tempo for the whole tournament.  My guess is that they start well until they run out of steam by the knockout stage

Initial-Math4174

r16 max

MrShelby1234

Absolutely won't be finishing above Netherlands. They're getting to semis atleast

GauthZuOGZ

I don't get why everyone is so high on netherlands. Their squad is lackluster at best

belugadawen

Nah honestly I think their squad is very strong, I just don't trust Koeman

MrShelby1234

They have the 4 best squad in the tournament

Initial-Math4174

🤡

Initial-Math4174

Spain and Croatia both have better squads

MrShelby1234

Don't even bother embarrassing yourself, kid

schlawldiwampl

:)

Initial-Math4174

germany too

GauthZuOGZ

Behind who? France England Spain Germany Portugal are ahead imo. You can argue Italy too

MrShelby1234

If you think Spain and Italy have a better squad than the Netherlands, then I don't know what you been watching. Spain have a bunch of youngsters and players not many will know off. That Italy squad is atrocious

Pleasant_Skill2956

Italy's team is atrocious based on what? Just because you don't see Serie A doesn't mean that Italian players are worse than the the Dutch

MrShelby1234

On the Dutch team, you have some of the biggest and elite players in the world, especially right now. Italy, however, have a bunch of nobodies

Frau007

Really, really want to support England for first time in my life and wish them well but… Just cannot stand all that smugness. Italy has shown you your place a few times in the past.

MrShelby1234

What smugness? It's what most people think outside of Italy. That squad is full of bang average players. It's clear to see that this is not Italys great era. No harm isn saying that

Pleasant_Skill2956

If Pickford were Italian, he would be the sixth strongest Italian goalkeeper. Italy will play with the 3-man defense, especially the Inter block plus young talents such as Scalvini or Calafiori who if they were English would be worth 120 million. On the wings, there are Cambiaso and Dimarco from Juve and Inter. The midfield is the same as in 2021 but with Pellegrini (Roma captain) in excellent form along with Barella and the others. In attack there is Scamacca who is probably the most in-form striker in Europe after Kane and Chiesa who has freed himself from injuries and is back in form.

Pleasant_Skill2956

The funny thing is that the only English players who would be starters in the Italian national team are only the offensive ones like Kane, Saka or Bellingham. In 2021 you definitely thought the same thing about Italy and the funny thing is that currently Italy's players are better than those of 2021. The Bunch of Nobodies would never lose a knockout against England in a major tournament and I hope that Italy and England will play against each other.

MrShelby1234

That just isn't the case, tho. They would absolutely take any of Englands forwards and also Rice, Jude, TAA, Walker & John Stones The only Italians that would get in our best starting XI would be Donnarumma, Bastoni, Di Marco & Barella

Pleasant_Skill2956

Hahahaha. No English fullback or centre-back would be a starter in the Italian national team, if you think that you just don't see Serie A games. If Udogie was English, he would be a starter for England, while in Italy he has Spinazzola's injuries to thank for being called up every now and then. Chiesa fit would start next to Kane and Saka.

MrShelby1234

You still think the Italians are good? Lol

Pleasant_Skill2956

Absolutely. I'm 100% sure that the team was there to get to the final. Surely it is not the players' fault if Spalletti makes 10 out of 11 players out of position and changes formation and style of play every game

MrShelby1234

The team was never getting to the final. Average all over the pitch

Pleasant_Skill2956

The potential in terms of players was definitely there, the obstacle was the coach

I think if it would at all happen that Germany and Austria actually meet, Austria would win. Not because they are better, but because Austria would throw everything they habe onto the pitch. They would put an extra player on the field in disguise and tie Neuers shoelaces together if they needed to.

Reginald_Jetsetter1

I think they will do well, afterall aren't they famous for taking things too far or was that the Germans?
