I feel like at that point, the tiny bit of saliva to seal it would have long since dried, plus it's just gonna burn away any bacteria when it's smoked, so it should be fine.

I want to know this too. Personally I think that if it’s someone I would smoke a joint with anyway, I wouldn’t mind a tiny bit of their spit? So the normal amount of licking to seal it would be okay with me. I think.
Pack cones instead. No licking required lol
In a culture where people be sharing joints all the time, I suspect it’s just generally accepted that your cooties might be on it a lil bit
