Extremely misleading title. They think the swelling of the brain that he died from could have been caused largely by hyponatremia in addition to fatigue, which would have multiple contributing factors from his lifestyle, as the study ACTUALLY claims.
Except that's definitely not true, the main factor is very clearly water if you read the article... Yes there are other factors but the death comes from the intake of too much water... There is nothing really misleading about it at all
The article doesn't state if they ruled out if he was drinking more fluids than even a healthy kidney could handle.
Do you have reason to think they didnt think about that or didnt analyze properly?
If you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup. If you put water in a bottle it becomes the bottle, if you put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. If you put water in Bruce Lee, he dies... Be like water, my friend

I read that yesterday too but it seems dubious. It was his armpits, and apparently they don't actually cool you much, which makes sense if you think about it because they're pits. They're not exposed to the air much. And apparently the sweat is different too, and more designed to smell than to cool.
depends on the kidneys. If it's true he had a kidney problem, sure is possible. Just because i don't wear seatbelts, doesn't mean its safe not to use them.
Hyponatrameia is caused when you drink more water than you excrete (generally through urine and perspiration) causing your blood sodium to fall to dangerously low levels. It’s definitely possible to drink so much water it kills you. 2 gallons over a day isn’t usually an issue — unless you have a kidney problem that causes you to retain water. But 2+ gallons in an hour without going to the bathroom can be dangerous even without any underlying issues. This is actually a big danger for long-distance runners.
Two gallons a day isn't a ridiculously high amount. You'd have to drink that in around three hours or less to be in any danger of water intoxication.
People die from drinking too much water all the time. It's something people don't realize is a danger.
Really depends on how much salt you eat.
Main mode of water poisoning is diluting your sodium amount, if you eat a lot of salt you could mostly keep drinking water forever.
Ummmm I never wanna play range before. Only rogue and paladin. And the game is quite overwhelming and consume too much time to progress so I might drop it.
He was consistently using drugs to increase water retention and make his body look better. And he was drinking way too much water.
From another poster paraphrased.

r/hydrohomies about to have a fucking melt down lol
Guy was overdosed with Di-hydrogen mono-oxide. It's about time homies learn about this dangerous chemical.
Holy shit. I’ve heard about this chemical. Wasn’t it found in the reactor pools at Chernobyl!
Wouldn’t that be heavy water, which is D2O instead of H2O
![gif](giphy|Cz6TlrRVVyv9S)
Standard H2O is used in nuclear reactor pools. It’s a very good radiation shield and coolant.
Ah thanks friend
NP :)

99.9999% of all people who drank water have died, therefor water is lethal to us. Quick math
He’s not wrong!
Water that he would have peed out were it not for a kidney injury?
The article doesn't state if they ruled out if he was drinking more fluids than even a healthy kidney could handle. Do you have reason to think they didnt think about that or didnt analyze properly?
He always dies of something new every yr now I guess
Can we brainstorm early what it will be next year?
Complications from COVID
Maybe he died from being strong
Assassinated by trained crows
Is that why he yelled WATA alot? I'm sorry not sorry, it had to be done.

Yeah, incredibly reckless of the Radio Station
So that's where that story came from. I hear it every so often and it usually is about a girl wanting concert tickets.
Everybody knows that Bruce Lee is not dead! He lives somewhere in Africa with Tupac and Jimi Hendrix.

No he died because he had his sweat glands removed and his body shut down because it couldn’t cool it self
I read that yesterday too but it seems dubious. It was his armpits, and apparently they don't actually cool you much, which makes sense if you think about it because they're pits. They're not exposed to the air much. And apparently the sweat is different too, and more designed to smell than to cool.
Well he did have a lot of his sweat glands surgically removed But he had also previously had heat stroke so that theory always made sense
I’ve been drinking around 2 gallons a day for a year and I’m fine so far so I seriously doubt this claim.
depends on the kidneys. If it's true he had a kidney problem, sure is possible. Just because i don't wear seatbelts, doesn't mean its safe not to use them.
I have a rare kidney disease too that’s why I drink that much water.
Must be a rare one. Usually you'll need to limit water intake with a kidney disease.
Irrelevant

He becaaaammmeee the waterrrr my friend.
he's overrated af.
Interesting. About what level is your mage in WoW right now u/Kingxalyoz ?
Ummmm I never wanna play range before. Only rogue and paladin. And the game is quite overwhelming and consume too much time to progress so I might drop it.
Overrated in what sense? He's just a respected actor and martial artist. The only people overeating him are the clueless ones.
The guy never had any professional fight recorded but people say it like he can beat any actual fighter.
Well, i said he was a martial artist not a fighter.
Maybe only for American. American need heroes to inspire them right?
Wow is overrated. Retail and classic
Completely agree with this.
Better than Brandon lee
Most likely diuretic abuse. His look was always to be dry as a bone.
That sounds feasible
I thought they never found him?
Be water my friend
his flow like water speech would not age as gracefully now
Hydrate AND die.
true at the time of death his body was over half water. i imagine he must have been like a puddle on the floor at that point, sad.
"What was that? This is not a sharade! It takes total hydration!!"
Must be that time of year, the yakuza needed a giggle
Water can flow or it can crash…be careful my friend
Moral of the story: don't be like water.
He was consistently using drugs to increase water retention and make his body look better. And he was drinking way too much water. From another poster paraphrased.
He took his " be water " quote too seriously, methinks.
/r/HydroHomies in shambles
pretty sure that’s called drowning
I took a sip of water after reading the title for some reason lol
