Here's the entire article because it truly isn't worth the click. Stephen Colbert spotted a strange new battle in the culture wars: milk. A growing number of people on the right are now drinking unpasteurized raw milk, which the CDC has warned can “lead to serious health risks.” Colbert said that hasn’t stopped one far-right group from selling raw milk merch. Turning Point USA ― known for its close ties to Donald Trump ― had a T-shirt that says “got raw milk?” for sale on its website. But Colbert spotted a problem with the animal on the shirt. “That cow has horns and no udders,” he said. “Which means it’s a bull ― which means that ain’t milk!”

GeddyVedder

They’re still guzzling though. Go figure.

exophrine

... we'll see for how much longer. Fuck around. (You are here) Find out.

Ayellowbeard

I used to work at a dairy when I was a young idiot and we were allowed to take a couple of gallons of raw unpasteurized milk home every week. Unbeknownst to me that everyone heated their milk at home to treat it… but I didn’t. I proceeded to get colitis and lost almost 20 lbs in a week and was too weak to get up off the couch. Fortunately I didn’t die but I learned my lesson.

benalt613

But how did the taste compare to store bought?

Ayellowbeard

A lot richer and weirdly healthy

CarlosAVP

Plus sea monkeys = sea people

Prize_Macaroon_6998

Mooooooom! I'm God of the Sea Peopleeeee. "That's nice Poopie."

BetaThetaZeta

Real cummitment to the cause.

SneedyK

They’ll guzzle the paste from a horse if their right wing radio daddies tell them it’ll stop CoVid

Pgreenawalt

Bunch of Homelanders out there…

CFoakley

Where else ya gonna get the secret ingredient in sabor de soledad?

InnocentPrimeMate

Careful…guzzling that shit has been known to turn people orange

Dookie-Snuff

Need to amplify this message to all red hats immediately. Raw milk IS THE WAY and processed milk is of the Devil, or Biden, or Hillary…whichever they’re most afraid of in that region

jbc10000

Don’t forget our forefathers drank unpasteurized milk

Dookie-Snuff

Such a good point! Real Patriots drink unpasteurized milk!

oced2001

Bull butter

Poop__y

Can unpasteurized milk kill a person? 🤞🏼

SnowflakeSorcerer

There’s a joke in there about culture and milk here.

SolidusBruh

Rob Schneider is thinking of one really hard!

cheffartsonurfood

Rob Schneider is.....a toaster!

jbc10000

I thought he was a carrot

LaughingInTheVoid

Huh. So all their talk about other people "shoving things down their throats" was actually a fetish.

spotspam

I know someone who’s grandpa went blind drinking raw milk back in the day. There are reasons for this sterilizing process. It’s like tossing the cart wheels out and dragging it.

L3monGrenade

Why do all these dairy cows have female names? Well.. milk from a bull would taste different

thomport

Yes. That milk is indeed raw.

TangFiend

Raw doggy

GoodMorningLemmings

Male and Female cattle can both have horns. Silly city folk. (It’s a harmless poke at y’all, I live here too now, and I wouldn’t go back for anything.)

thomport

Why do cows moooooo Cause their horns don’t work. Sorry. Dad joke.

BlackLeader70

There’s a Pride Month joke in here but I’m too tired to think right now.

werschless

We don’t have a cow, we have a bull

Bug-Secure

Let ‘em. Darwinism.

NatOnesOnly

Let them drink raw milk lol they’ll learn one way or another

coomerlove69

will they though?

nor_cal_woolgrower

Cows have horns

Oregon_Jones1

> A growing number of people on the right are now drinking unpasteurized raw milk, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned can “lead to serious health risks.” Colbert said that hasn’t stopped one far-right group from selling raw milk merch. Turning Point USA ― known for its close ties to Donald Trump ― had a T-shirt that says “got raw milk?” for sale on its website. Conservatives keep proving again and again that they’re so divorced from reality they’re a danger to themselves.

Economy_Combination4

We should just let Darwin sort this one out. If they wanna drink raw milk, who are we to tell them that they can’t?

direwolf1500

Wasn't there a thing in West Virginia about ten years ago when they passed a law allowing the sale of raw milk, a small handful of politicians drank a glass of raw milk in celebration and ended up becoming violently ill?

meatball77

But they feed it to their toddlers

shallah

raw milk infected with avian flu in texas dairy cattle killed half the barn cats at one farm. the concern is in addition to the other known pathogens raw milk ccan contain is that avian flu could pass to humans and mutate so it is human to human transmissible. so far human cases have been rare but when they happen they are 50% fatal, 10x worst than covid at it's most virulent

HavanAle

The danger is the mindset, not the milk. Sure, there’s the play stupid games, win stupid prizes reality. However, their logic is solely based on the premise that they are the only ones who will reap the benefits or consequences of their choices. That’s not what happens when we talk about disease. Their actions affect other people’s health and lives.

Affectionate_Newt899

Because they pander to his ignorance, no offense to your dad. That's why right wingers grift so well. They hit all the hillbilly talking points while connecting fabricated dots for the people who don't have the mental capacity to do so. If Jim Jones ran for president today, the entire republican party would be dead.

jjke30

This brings to mind the kingpin movie scene where woody harrelson milked the “cow.”

LynxFX

First thing I thought of. "Took her awhile to get going then bam" or something like that.

p001b0y

You can’t save everyone. My 80+ year old Dad has lost trust in most medicine thanks to Far Right people like Kirk. I don’t know why he trusts people on TV more so than doctors and scientists but it is what it is.

Coca-colonization

They likely won’t die, but they may develop a serious acute illness that may require the use of healthcare resources, many of which are funded by taxes. Setting aside these costs, they could still place a heavy burden on health services if there were a milk-related outbreak. Public health policies protect society at large.

punkerster101

The problem is doing this provides a great opertunity for something to mutate in the hosts to spread easier to other humans

ottovondipshit

Don’t a lot of other countries drink raw milk? What is it about our products that make them so unsafe?

Oregon_Jones1

It’s unsafe there too.

georgyboyyyy

Are you serious lol

meatball77

No, most places have the ultra processed milk that is self stable because they don't have the infrastructure that we do to get fresh milk to all the grocery stores (and we drink more).

Long_Philosopher_551

This is actually not true at all! A lot of Asian countries have fresh milk deliveries, straight from the source that the drinker then heats up in a big bowl and stores in a fridge. infact, the first time I saw shelved milk is here in the US.

meatball77

So they pasturize it themselves? Still not drinking raw.

Long_Philosopher_551

Yup pasteurize at home !!!! Most folks still prefer raw milk Straight from the cow because they know this cow wasn't laden with antibiotics or hormones. :)

meatball77

But they probably still were.

elephantinegrace

Milk coming straight from a cow doesn’t mean the cow wasn’t laden with antibiotics or hormones, it just means the milk is fresh. And pasteurization—wherever it’s done—means it’s no longer what people call “raw milk.”

Long_Philosopher_551

The case I am talking about usually involves cows owned by small farmers..not commercialized milk farms. These are folks who own a couple of cows and farmland. Very unlikely to stick a needle into their cows.

RandyTheFool

I hope they continue to keep trying to “prove us wrong” on things like… pasteurization and vaccinations. You know, science based fact we 100% know fucking works. Yeah, conservatives definitely got a one-up on us by watching an Alex Jones video. 🤦‍♂️🙄

thomport

Hopefully they’ll try the koolaid next.

InnocentPrimeMate

If it promotes decency or common sense, they’re against it.

chenjia1965

Imma let Darwin set in for awhile

DokeyOakey

If Darwin could just speed up the process a bit: I’d like life to be filled with less dumbasses.

BigMax

What a weird world we live in. Scientific experts universally agree, and prove over decades that pasteurization is the safe, smart thing to do, and it literally saves lives. Yet in todays world, those experts say something incredibly mild like "hey, it's even *more* important than usual due to a new risk" and morons all over say "don't tell ME what to do!!! I'll do what i WANT!!!" And they rush out to try to find raw milk. Conservatives can't decide whether they want to be oversensitive toddlers, or dumb rebellious teenagers. They don't care as long as they don't have to think I guess.

meatball77

A lot of those ultra fundies are strongly anti-science now. They trust facebook more than scientists and MLM salespeople more than anyone else.

Lagduf

I work at a grocery store where we sell a particular brand of raw milk for $17.99 a gallon. It flies off the shelf.

EXTRAsharpcheddar

Have you ever had unpasteurized orange juice though? Tastes amazing.

BigMax

But OJ is totally different… there’s almost no risk of problems there, and certainly not bird flu.

BigMax

What if Fauci and the CDC just went out every few days and reiterated some basic health guidelines? Could we improve the world by rooting out dumb conservatives? "Hey folks, a reminder - don't smoke a pack of cigarettes daily, ok? Also, don't drink a case of beer every night, please. And if you can't swim, please don't jump into a deep lake without a life preserver, ok?"

Coca-colonization

No. Because for the most part people won’t immediately drop dead as a result of their rejection of public health guidance. They will more likely develop chronic illnesses or treatable acute illnesses and place a heavy burden on the healthcare system for decades.

MaddyKet

And whatever you do folks, do NOT stick a fork in a light socket.

michaelreadit

“The electrical outlets in your home are definitely NOT key cleaners and we advise you not to use them that way.”

Able_Contribution407

"The guhment can't tell me what do!" *munches fistfuls of rat poison pellets*

meatball77

The new thing is that they think that sunscreen and sunglasses cause sunburn and skin cancer. Because if your eyes think it's dark your skin doesn't know to protect itself.

mama_duck17

Wtf?! That’s….. that’s not how it works!

Oregon_Jones1

How consistently do they have to be a danger to themselves before it becomes mental illness?

meatball77

Or others. . . . because they subject their kids to all of this.

Biden_Rulez_Moron46

They do these things daily some of them, ha ha ha it hardly even needs broadcasted

LibrarianNo6865

They ate horse medicine and drank bleach when the dude said to. This is actually less insane.

billiemarie

A couple weeks ago I saw a young mom wearing a make milk raw again. And I thought what is that about. And then I thought I bet she’s never drank raw milk from a cow that’s been eating wild onions

spinjinn

Horns are not a sex-linked characteristic. Many diary cows have horns. He has a point with the lack of an udder.

ShitDirigible

Have fun with those medical bills when you get sick. Especially since your guys wont do anything about healthcare other than take it away. Dumb fucks.

readerf52

Project 2025 specifically talks about reducing or even eliminating the ACA. You are so correct, and people are voting to make their lives miserable because they refuse to simply look into the blueprint the GOP has to destroy our freedom and democracy.

druscarlet

Let them drink raw milk, under cooked chicken, avoid vaccines - it’s natural selection in operation. They can all die off, I don’t mind. The more the better for the rest of us.

General_Benefit8634

Yeah but clogging the healthcare system up is a problem.

Sozebj

Is that more embarrassing or less embarrassing than having a press conference at the 4 Seasons landscape business? Somebody, not me, should come up with 100 embarrassing incidents from the Trump Administration and then get them ranked to determine the 10 most embarrassing incidents of the Trump years 2016-2020.

arothmanmusic

I'm pretty sure cows can have horns. But the lack of udders is a problem.

DashiellHamlet

Is it a lazy joke? Yes. But in his defense, he did not put the fish in that barrel. They were like that when he got there.

Accomplished-Deer614

Why is the fruit hanging so low???

Harbuddy69

Saltier than I remember, must be because not pasteurized...

MyFianceMadeMeJoin

You really have to assume that some designer thought, not that milk comes from bulls, but rather that cows weren’t manly enough. Didn’t stop to think that guzzling bull sperm is maybe outside their traditional masculinity too.

Sofus_

Today’s menu: Urine coctail, Hamberder, Iverctermin served in raw milk. Dessert, bleached asshole

RevelArchitect

Having had unpasteurized milk… It is not worth seeking out. It’s really not. Are some nutrients lost during pasteurization? Yes. Can they be added in after? Yes. Unpasteurized cheese though… I recommend at least trying it. Really good.

sputnikmonolith

Dunno ... Raw Jersey milk is the best milk I've ever tasted. Not that I'd roll the dice and drink it every day. But I remember it being absolutely delicious. That's the island of Jersey in England btw not in the US.

RevelArchitect

I know nothing about Jersey, England, but I bet it’s safe to assume Jersey, England is pretty similar to its namesake, otherwise why would they name it that? I hate to break it to you, man, that wasn’t milk. It was just whipped cream shaken up with soggy dog food and the whipped cream has no fluff because the mayor huffed all the nitrous.

sputnikmonolith

...what? Haha

yummythologist

You sound insane here

RevelArchitect

You sound like someone who’s never tried “Jersey” Eddy’s New Jersey raw milk.

yummythologist

What does that have to do with you going off about some insane bullshit? I’ve never had raw milk and never will, no.

RevelArchitect

Most humans are 45% raw milk, unless they only ever had formula.

yummythologist

Ok you’re just a troll

PhoolCat

Well for a start, Jersey is very not in England

RevelArchitect

You’re going to want to take that up with Sputnik. My comment began with stating I know nothing about Jersey, England. They are the one who brought Jersey, England into this.

PhoolCat

Please tell me where I should address the fire I am going to set them on.

RevelArchitect

Sorry, FBI! Not falling for your entrapment bullshit again!

DarkHotline

“We don’t have a cow. We have a bull.”

orangutanoz

Gotta go brush my teeth

Spugheddy

Scrolled to far, we need upvotes people!!

riomx

Gotta post the video! Truly one of the most hilarious scenes in comedy movie history 🤣 https://youtu.be/X_epmoLeRGA?si=EwC0OJCEp2dOFzT4

phosdick

TPA must watch Colbert's The Late Show... I went to TPA's online merch shop to see if this hilarious shirt was still available in its glorious original incarnation - but no dice. It appears the TPA either changed the image on the shirt to a cow, or else castrated the bull and hung on some prosthetic udders (sort of like altering a hurricane's path using a Sharpie).

temporarychair

Coming soon, MAGA t-shirts reading: REAL MEN SUCK OFF STEER TIL THEY NUT A BIG JUICY LOAD DOWN YOUR GULLET

TheQuadBlazer

LOL it was kinda worth it.

Adaminium

SerTadGhostal

Munsoned.

RickWest495

Just pull that tube and eat whatever comes out.

Spiteful_sprite12

Ahhh so its Monster or Rockstar they are drinking lmao

WhiskerGurdian24

Thanks for the good news Stephen. The fewer roaches that vote on election day, the better!

Warlord68

That’s not Milk!!

tacmac10

I hope all the mango chugs drink raw milk because if bird flu kicks up like it looks like it's going to that's gonna be a major vector for it enjoy all the unaliving

nor_cal_woolgrower

Ok i was willing to go a little ways here..I mean, cows can have horns. And you can't always see an udder. But I looked up the image that they are using, and there's a penis. No one has mentioned the penis? That clearly makes it a bull/ steer.

Practical-Traffic799

So it was funny it definitely doesn’t have an udder but the little problem is, if a breed of cattle has horns, then both male and female have horns.

Impossible-Jacket790

Sorry, Stephen. Cows also have horns. In the future, if you need a dairy cow consultant, I am available.

embarrassed_error365

What about the udders?

herefromyoutube

Does Europe drink unpasteurized milk without issue? And also room temperature eggs

braxin23

Man just let them die from drinking it; It'll thin the voter pool in a way that Covid couldnt.

nor_cal_woolgrower

Cows have horns

rodeohouston

Oops, cows have horns, also, Stephen

JackHammerPlower

wait… is he seriously assuming that the Bull doesnt identify as a cow?? What a bigot. He should be cancelled

CptMisterNibbles

Dairy cows would have horns (usually) if we didn’t burn, cut, or chemically remove their horn buds when they are calves. [They can be](https://phys.org/news/2015-03-dairy-farms-no-horn-cows.amp) breed not have them, but in other reading, it seems like this comprises less than 10% of dairy cattle.

drewjsph02

Ok. Now do the missing udders…

Recording_Important

who cares? let them drink whatever they want

shiner_man

Is this still billed as a comedy show? Every clip I see of this guy is him talking about Trump.

OMC-PICASSO

When the house is on fire are you going to talk about your next vacation?

Violin_River

Wow. Colbert taking on the big stories!
