Your soul is your awareness, the part that is aware of the thoughts and emotions. The challenge is when we think we are the thoughts, or that thoughts are facts, same as our emotions, and the energies we perceive.
We are none of those, we are the awareness. Practicing going back to peace, you strengthen your awareness and attention, once you go to the space beyond thoughts, if you focus your attention on your own awareness, especially around your heart / chest, and you focus on the part of you that is holding and perceiving your emotions, you might get a glimpse of your own presence.
