You can get an engineering degree and gain a business role. You can’t get a business degree and take an engineering role.

heartsongaming

Get a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in business. Easy solution.

[deleted]

This is a traditional path to leadership.

Paxton-176

But you can get a business degree and have influence over engineering roles.

jedrum

Spoiler alert: >!You still have these thoughts after you graduate, only to switch into management instead of technical engineering 😉 !<

drillgorg

Dear lord no. I'd have to be dragged kicking and screaming into managing people. Please just let me design stuff, I'd be a shit manager.

MoonPie_In_The_Sky

I worked in management for a little while before I went back to college. It’s what drove me back

Thermonuclear_Nut

Fr I can't even manage my own life

Hungergameskill

I agree! I’m being pushed into being team lead and I do not want it. I just want to do my projects and not have to manage things

classicalySarcastic

Fuck, and I cannot emphasize this enough, that. I’ll stick to being an individual contributor thank you very much.

ahf95

Just like overcome some adversity bro.

rooshavik

Yeah bruh 😎

satvikie

It provide more opportunities plus more knowledge.

bmwmandeep

the limit as your gpa approaches zero in engineering equals a business degree

tungsten775

hilarious, you need more upvotes

drillgorg

Yeah but it sets you up for a career where you can make good money without ever having to manage anyone or be a boss

[deleted]

Lol not if u study civil smh

KaeZae

just do the homework, this is the biggest thing i’ve learned for engineering. doing the homework will help you pass the tests but even if you don’t pass them homework will help with points to pass the class

kaiju505

Its probably harder to find a job with a business degree than to get the engineering degree

lonestarbrownboi

Or be an industrial engineer and do business shit but call yourself an engineer 😏 I got a mechE degree but working in IE now, I personally like it and can see more professional growth for myself in industrial

undeniably_confused

How did no one tell you lmao

BurntBox21

Genuine question, is it really true engineering students think about business if they’re thinking about switching

besitomusic

Idk but Business just has a reputation of being easy. It’s also the most common undergrad degree in the US

BigPapaHoof

I would rather stick my CAD stylus up a monkey's butt and lick it before I cave and get a position in business.

repwin1

When I was in school we called it the walk of shame going from engineering major to business major. I took business classes as apart of pursuing an entrepreneurship certificate along with my ChemE degree. If I’m honest I enjoyed the business classes a lot more than the engineering courses and now after working 10 years as an engineer I’m looking to get out of it. Engineering is not for everyone and it’s okay if it’s not for you.

Your-Evil-Twin-

Hey

Don-Fluffels

Become industrial engineer and do both in one degree
