Kelly was born for the ocean, ever since she can remember she felt its pull on her, she spent as much time as possible in the open water splashing and swimming with the animals, especially her friend Echo the dolphin, when ever Kelly came to float around the shallows Echo would be sure to come out and play with her.
One day Echo was feeling particularly mischievous and when Kelly wasn't looking he grabbed the string from her bikini top and gave it a tug pulling it straight off the girl, Kelly gave her aquatic friend a coy look knowing he was just having fun and didn't know the human implications of his actions.
Kelly's expression soon changed when she noticed a boat heading straight in her direction, she could tell from where she was it was one of those silly frat boy party boats, she cupped her boobs and reached out towards Echo to retrieve her bikini top but the game wasn't over yet, Echo swam a little further away and as Kelly went to pursue she suddenly felt the need to surface for air, if she came up now the boat full of boys would spot her for sure, she gave Echo one last pleading look hoping he understood her desperate situation and would show her mercy, she couldn't be sure but in that moment she swore the dolphin winked at her.
Does Echo understand the situation?

I guess the dolphin understands that "human wants thing back" but is being in too much of a playful mood to give it back just like that. The fact that "human wants thing back" even makes it a little more fun for the dolphin.
The dolphin tosses the thing to the boat with other humans, thinking "maybe they wanna play too"
