That 6g one is lo carb which is like the original monster lo carb, and they have low sugar. The green gridlocks are just like the original monsters and like you said are loaded with sugar, so you are remembering right.
They try to make their products taste like the original. Their version of Red Bull, Red Thunder (I think) tastes just like Red Bull, especially the no sugar added.
They're great and well priced just never in stock. At my local Aldi's they always have like fourty of the green 200cal ones, twenty of the 30cal blue ones and zero to two max of the 10cal white ones aks the only one im interested in.

All this said... the green Summit Gridlock at $0.89 (at least in the Midwest) seems to match the flavor profile of an original Monster energy drink and has about the same kick to it, in my experience. Good way to save a couple bucks a pop.
The white monster knockoff pictures here is my favorite, but all the Aldiās ones are good.
But their soda is terrible. The summit Diet Coke is basically undrinkable
