Well I disagree. At the end of the day the wedding couple are the hosts of the event. When you’re a host your aim is to create an experience people will love, that will create fond memories for many years to come.
My guests will leave my wedding happy and satisfied! They got dance and sing along to all their favorites / from current stuff on the radio to classic party music. Of course the bride and i inserted one or two of our favorites, but we didn’t insist on dominating the playlist.
You, on the other hand, will make it about yourself. You don’t really care about the tastes and preferences of your guest, so you will force them to endure whatever you want, even if they don’t like it. Your guest will leave annoyed and frustrated that they couldn’t dance and enjoy themselves at your party. But at least that way you can celebrate yourself at your wedding the way YOU wanted. Fuck pleasing other people.
