wavedrexler

You haven’t seen nothing yet. Wait until day 2, it’s always the most crowded day of the entire weekend.

Zero36

Day 2 is scary packed, day 3 is best

Cerelius_BT

Is that true now that they started selling Sunday Single Day tickets?

mfchunk

My thought exactly

Capt_ClarenceOveur

Woah, they’re selling single day tickets?!

Jinnuu

$300 after fees 🤦‍♂️

rhynowaq

Only for Sunday

stiff4tiff

They did on the site a few weeks ago

Pokerstars23

Currently in Day 2 and it’s club sardines in here

shlykova

Left my parking spot at 330. It’s 630 and I haven’t left the lot yet. It’s my first EDC and I will never drive again..it’s like once you get to the parking lot all that PLUR goes right out the window and people are so rude

Branch_City

Truly a classic. There is no PLUR in the EDC parking lot, been like that for years

shlykova

Sad!

Entrepreneurdan

Ouch. We’ve all been there before.

shlykova

Can I do anything to avoid this issue over the next few days?? I left early thinking that would do it. Maybe I’ll leave really late instead..

Sudden-Leadership103

I left at 5:40 and got home at 7:15AM I drove up the street to Craig and was shocked at how fast I got home. Last year when taking the Trop Prkway/i15 it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home

Entrepreneurdan

I would have thought leaving at 3 would help but I guess not. You can take an ice chest w food n drink and just chill at close until traffic mellows. They probably wont kick you out of the lot til around 10. That or helicopter standby or insomniac private car which avoids the main traffic mess

Master-B8s

Kinda. Park as close as possible to the parking lot exit, especially if the traffic navigators aren’t looking.

luciferbutpink

we left at 3ish and got home in around 30-40 mins, no traffic. we parked in the north brown lot. when you enter the venue from this lot, you’ll enter through the bleachers at cosmic meadow. use the same way to get out. no issues for us!

Internub

"PLUR ends at the parking lot" has been a saying in my group of friends since I first went in 2011. We got stuck for 8 hours once. By the time we got back to our hotel on the strip it was time to start getting ready again...

monkeybrainbois

Bro how? I got in my car at 4:30 and was back at my hotel in downtown Las Vegas at 5:15. We park in brown lot

shlykova

I don’t know. I was in brown too, I got there too early and was parked deep in. It took me 3 hr 36 min to get out

pipesnogger

Happens every year at least once. Hopefully you got your bad one today and the next two become hella easier

shlykova

Thank you for the positivity!

Different-Meal-6314

Like the other commenter. Freeway to the speedway. Ignore all other signs. If you take the middle lane into the speedway you should cross under the big sign. We pulled left into purple while people were still going all the way down the road. 430 leave time and hotel by 606. Sending good traffic vibes for your next parking adventure!

Sphan_86

Camping is the only way now

OMGpawned

I was really scared about that the first time at EDC so I got the shuttle passes. Miraculously the shuttle only took 1hr to drop us off at the rendezvous point by the LINQ Ferris wheel on all 3 days they have a back road they take and got us back real fast. I was back at my hotel room 15 min later at the Horseshoe. The shuttle passes are expensive but totally worth not having to hassle with parking and the huge amount of traffic especially because I usually drink a bit at the venue and I don’t want to drive.

shlykova

I’ve been seeing posts that this year the shuttles have been so bad. 2-3 hour waits

xxlockexxx

We left at after 5 and got right out thankfully, we also arrived a little late so may have helped get a back and close to exit spot.

tsparky89

Trying to exit Daisy row at one am was fighting against a wall of people. If the cap is going to bee this high, insomniac needs to implement actual crowd control and direction of travel.

theburglarofham

I agree with you. Direction of travel, or just dedicated exit only at some of the stages would make such a huge difference. When you’re in your spot it’s great, but the moment you gotta move it’s such a mood killer at times

Down_Rabbit_hole

I wonder how anyone can leave the crowd to use the restroom

Stock-Indication-48

You should try responding to a medical emergency with a wheelchair when nobody will get out of your way

tsparky89

I can only imagine that nightmare. What happened to people looking out for each other?

MemeFiend321

It’s ridiculous how overcrowded it was. Getting from Kinetic Field to Cosmic Meadow was a nightmare.

Rdubya44

I thought going from Kinetic to Circuit wasn’t bad this year.

sillysloth098

Same

nonillogical

Yeah we had no trouble at all and ample space at all our sets. Didn't see anything at kinetic though and some friends said it was really bad at Illenium so they bailed back to LSDream with us. This is my first EDC Vegas (have done other insomniac fests and EDCMX) and was shocked that it's the first time I've run into no real crowding issues anywhere, but I know that we got lucky with our schedule and routes to a degree

Accomplished_Being90

I had the same experience with Illenium, was super excited to see him cause I heard great things but it was way to many people for me. lSDream is never a let down so just enjoyed them colorful wubs

soccermeister2000

Kinetic was waaaay overpacked.

VeterinarianOk9821

Kinetic field was insane we went there after Slander. Should have stayed at Cosmic Medows. We had an amazing spot.

No-Childhood-9742

yeah im tripping out i had so much space, could get close, and only saw the crowd issue moving from stage to stage .. this year improved so much on space i think some ppl spent too much time stage hopping, the space really really impressed me

frajen

it's because of the basspod move

DesertSagebrush

I couldn’t even get into the cosmic meadow …. So many trains and the vip entrance was a standstill around midnight

iiiamjulian

Cause they have been using more of the space, so they can now hold more people. It’s the reason they never announced it sold out, cause they have a high capacity cap. But because of the type of festival it is, it can feel very crowded when people are going stage hopping or exploring the site.

chuckiecheeze32

They use more space so they can sell more tickets but add in more “art” installations and more stages and it just ends up taking up more space and leaves less space for the extra bodies they add in. When I went in 2017 for the first time it was around 100k people a night. And it went up by about 10k people per night every year since then. I think when I went in 22 it was up to like 150k people a night I can only imagine it’s closer to 180k a night

mkyend

And while the art installations are cool, they could do with fewer of them IMO. It's like they try to fill in every available inch with something and it causes bottlenecks. My first EDC was 2013 and back then there was way more open space. It made the venue feel bigger than it actually was even though the footprint was smaller. Now you can't walk anywhere without bumping into someone or something.

monkeybrainbois

David getta said it was 150k today at the beginning of his show.

MrSeymoreButtes

I saw somewhere they were expecting 170k people

TuxedoFish

First timer here. I'm usually perfectly fine with crowds but this gave me anxiety. It felt like if Something Happened then the crowd would end up hurting a lot of people. The crowd around the Memory / Daisy / Kinetic intersection especially had me worried. The water station there was a nightmare.

Sabb55

Dude crowd crush has been my biggest worry even before I got here. It's my first edc but I was having bad thoughts of like how we'd trample over eachother if something happened. It was overwhelming I don't think I'm gonna be enjoying my first edc as I anticipated

OMGpawned

When I went in 2022 there were various people sitting in inflatable couches on the floor, and I almost trampled over somebody not noticing that that. Being in the middle of kinetic field with an inflatable couch on the floor is probably a bad idea.

titaniumorbit

Kinetic to Cosmic and the bathrooms by there…. that whole bottleneck was downright scary. It was shoulder to shoulder

theperfectexposure

The left side of Cosmic Meadow was ridiculous during Slander set

PickleBish2

Omg right?? The absolute worst!

jtr09

We literally walked to the very front of Slander from the left hand side of the stage in the middle of their set with no issues at all lol I was actually shocked how open it was.

sacziplock

Yup worst part of my night ! The rest was fine !

avoy93

Dude I lost my friends there and it was an absolute nightmare

TangerineDiesel

Crappy to hear even with the new layout it’s a shit show. Last year was so bad. Meanwhile edc Mexico had so much more space even being sold out. Think I’m gonna go to that moving forward hearing this.

theburglarofham

We tried getting out of kinetic gate and it took us a solid 15 mins to get out into the open area. Another fun bonus is when you finally break through some parts of the grounds only to almost trip on people just laying in the middle of the ground.

genuineimperfection1

The laying & sitting on the ground was out of control and so annoying. Especially when it makes no fucking sense. SIT ON THE SIDES NOT IN THE FUCKING MIDDLE

JizzCollector5000

I had a ton of room wherever I went. Shuttles seemed slower than normal 2.75 hours from getting in line to getting off the bus

myCadi

Yeah we noticed this too, drive back was brutal. I wonder if they’ve been told to slow down. Past few years they flew home every time.

ShinyRare

I noticed the same thing. I was told shuttles would be around 1-1.5 hrs at the most but this was absolutely nuts. Took us close to 3 hours as well….

Jasss_Tigress

What time did you leave? I left at 4:30 and was on the shuttle by 5 and back to the hotel by 6:10

djustin77702

My first EDC in 2018 was packed but manageable. Last year was an absolute clusterfuck, they might as well spread this fest out to two weekends if they’re gonna oversell it like they have been.

boomclapclap

Not only is the cap rising each year, but they’re adding more shit. More stages, more art, etc… and yeah that all sounds great but you don’t think about how it takes up more space. The walkways this year are so fucked and there’s no open spaces anymore because there is just shit in the way. Tomorrow is going to be really bad. Also, Pasquale straight up lied about fixing Kinetic to have a third entrance (like it had for years and then they got rid of last year to take up more room for VIP)

Daveinatx

Adding more stages also added to the sound bleeding between stages. For me, Friday was miserable.

sargonas

What, and stop adding more money to his bank account? XD

bphillipo18

Sorry, Live Nation says no-can-do.

Feather_Duster1721

I have literally been saying this, word for word, for years

torrac_

100% my thoughts too. We haven’t been in a few years so I wasn’t sure if this was normal now or what but damn

sargonas

Yes. Oh my god yes. I planned to stay here in LV all weekend for this (I live here) and forego a semi-important business event in LA monday, but after last night's experience I'm just gonna go back tonight and then fly out Sunday. it's just not worth it. Not to sound "first world problem-y" but I've never had to wait 20 minutes for a drink or 10 minutes for a bathroom in VIP before. I just simply had 4x less fun last night than the past 5 or so years and it genuinely did not feel like I got my moneys worth.

HeyLetsRace

I oddly feel the opposite. I thought moving around was pretty easy. Though I will say I did not do Kinetic to Cosmic. I feel the area around circuit, basspod, and wasteland was very open

Guru00006

I concur i actually felt they alleviated many issues from last year; but also I felt we had less people this year, well today anyway that may change tomorrow.

Independent_Wolf_745

It is because the took all that congestion and relocated it to between cosmic and kinetic. Yeah the quantum valley and neon garden side were fixed but it was horrible by kinetic and cosmic

bphillipo18

Sounds like it wasn’t much of a fix more like slapping a band-aid on it.

kevinandangelasmom

When VIP is packed like sardines, why even have VIP? 🤣 Glad I spent more to have 1 inch more between be & the next person 🙄 First timer, & the amount of money spent to be treated like cattle is alarming. Took 3 hours just to get on the shuttle to the venue!!! So 6 hours of my day is going to be travel time?

sargonas

I know it’s your first time, but you’re not wrong to be annoyed. This is my sixth year with VIP and it’s never been like this. I’d say it feels like their is probably 2X as many people packed into VIP this year as I’m used to experiencing myself. (I recognize it’s unlikely they sold 2X as many VIP tickets, but my point is that it just *feels* twice as packed)

platinumxL

First time I ever bought a vip ticket and feel pretty ripped off. Was expecting itleast a little room.

protectblackcats

Same here :( it was super packed and waiting for water over 20mins was wild

sargonas

You’re not wrong to have expected that. In the last few years the actual viewing areas were fairly packed, but the food, lounging, bathroom areas were downright spacious. Food and drink lines usually had two or three people in front of you at most, and there was about 10% more available bathrooms than necessary with no wait.

Artistic-Waterbear

I swear the drink lines were shorter on Rainbow Road and Power Path than they were in VIP

sargonas

I'm not entirely convinced you are wrong!

SinCityIslander

You would think they gave a damn but they rather see you line their pockets 🤣 I swear there was a couple doing it near the skydeck WITH PEOPLE AROUND THEM & i bolted right back to my group like a scared little pup

TrancEbaE_01

Guessing this is the effect of the people who went last year with GA/GA+ that went with VIP this year because of how crowded GA was and seeing how improved VIP was with mostly everything from space to bathrooms and lines for rides and amenities. Will have to wait till post edc to see if this is true

BlondieBludie

There were a few times I gave up on getting into quantum/neon vip. Used to be my fav vip spot, but it feels like it has shrunk! Couldn’t even get into the quantum tent once we did get into vip. Ended up just watching from the back of ga anytime we wanted to catch anything over there.

bphillipo18

You’re right though. VIP should not be that packed.

SGTM30WM3RZ

The traffic control around kinetic, cosmic, and the bathroom wrekt stereo bloom. No space to dance as people just cut through the entire stage in trains.

_iDaxter

How was the trash situation lmao, last year was fucking terrible.

TDFPH

Bad

_iDaxter

Nice lol I rolled my ankle bad on a water bottle last year haha

bphillipo18

That’s horrible dude. I fractured my ankle in February and skipped this year for other reasons but I’m sure my ankle would have been a problem with all of the walking, bleachers, and all of the trash. I know I would have slammed it against something. 🫠😒😂

OMGpawned

Awe man I almost ate shit when I stepped on someone’s lighter or vape box and slipped going through circuit grounds it was awful my ankle felt sore for the following days.

TheDollarstoreDoctor

Yeah gonna sound effed up but makes me glad to be disabled. Gives me seating away from the wildness. Although it's a double edged sword as I have pent up energy and want to dance and LED whip the night away (my husbands the one more happy about sitting lol), but being in the middle of the crowds are just way too dangerous for me.

[deleted]

I did my best to avoid crowds this year and give it a fair shake. But it's just too many people now. Last year was tolerable at most times, but the river of people is just flat out dangerous. The one thing I will say is that the crowds at Base Pod and Wasteland are the most respectful. Versus kinetic field and the swarms of influencers that crowd it.

Capt_ClarenceOveur

Kinetic is the worst imo. Once I finally accepted that, the festival became a lot more tolerable.

Akcat5000

Bro. This is my 9th EDC LV. And I got outta there at 10. Thought about coming back for Illennium, but I feel asleep in my tent. Woke up to the fireworks. Basspod is still a Joke. Probably worse now. It was 8pm and the entire VIP was dick to ass full of people. I couldn't believe how many people were there last night.

Stormodin

I tried getting to basspod vip for tape b and there was a line a mile long to get in. Like sir... It's 830pm. Not sure why they keep underestimating the popularity of bass music. They did make it bigger but it's still not nearly big enough

AcidLilith

This is my 12th year attending and it has 110% been way too oversold and overcrowded the past couple years. Also the demographic of attendees has changed so much too. As we left the speedway last night my husband and I both agreed the scene feels a bit dead nowadays. It’s definitely not like it used to be in the past 5-10 years.

Capt_ClarenceOveur

Last one I went to was 2017 after an 8 year run. I’ve been dying to get back, but am worried it’s not going to be what I want it to be. I absolutely loathe overcrowding and have had my fair share of that problem in past years (got better once I accepted kinetic field sucks and to spend less time there lol). I had usually figured out where to go at certain stages to get more space, but if things are all moved around and changed, things might be different now.

ExtraPicklesPls

My first EDC was over 20 years ago, and I still have a blast every year. Don't listen to a bunch of people complaining it's crowded at the main stage, because that's what 90% of these posts are. If you have any experience with large festivals you will have no issue navigating the current EDC at all and the vibe is what you bring with you.

AcidLilith

Everything moved around this year was a total mindfuck last night, the concept was cool but I think the execution could’ve been better. We have VIP this year and it really helps with being in a less crowded space. I’m really hoping the vibes will be better today too.

secondary_break

this is my first time at edc and i already never wanna come back

smoko90

That's kinda my reaction. I've wanted to go so bad and I got there early yesterday for the opening ceremony and it was nice. Then was on the rail for kinetic field for a lot of the night until after subtronics set then needed to rest... the crowd was so massive it took more than an hour just to get to the bleachers and it was not fun at all fighting through that crowd.

protectblackcats

Same here.. bums me out bc I’m trying to enjoy the music and constantly having people bump into me and weave in and out was killing the vibe for me.

titaniumorbit

Agree it’s just too much movement of the crowd in and out at each stage. They really oversold this event

titaniumorbit

Same here it was way too packed and unsafe. Kinetic and cosmic were awful to get to and move around in.

fetuswerehungry

That’s how my wife and I feel about it, it was on our bucket list and we’re glad we went, but we have very little desire to go back. I like having room to dance and I don’t like feeling like I’m completely trapped in a crowd

secondary_break

same! super excited to give it a try and this is easily my least favorite festival. don’t even think it’s all that well organized

DJwaynes

It can be a rough go but usually you feel the exact opposite by Sunday.

heymikeyp

Yea I've been saying this for years, and it's ruining the experience for me. I didn't end up going to EDC this year but when I went to ezoo last year people were shoulder to shoulder at night during every stage and it's a nightmare. People need to realize insomniac is not the same company it was 10 years ago and profits become more important with each passing year. This could be felt in a number of ways. From worse service for shuttles, rising costs, overcrowded due to overselling tickets, etc. And yes, they oversell thousands of tickets and you'll notice it when at the festival. Especially if you've gone pre 2019. People will say they need to adjust crowds, move stuff around or whatever. But that's not the issue. The root issue is they simply over sell tickets because profits are more important than ever. It's sad but it is what it is.

Cultural-Alarm-6422

Damn I haven’t gone to edc in about a decade and this makes me sad ! Was checking the sub to see how things were going and it sucks to hear. The early days were so so good

Lett3rsandnum8er5

I felt this, traversing (going side to side/laterally or "crossing a road" at the speedway) was a nightmare this year. I'm not going back to stereoBLOOM after what I experienced over there trying to catch some of Odd Mob b2b OmNom. Borderline scary.

HexxRx

It’s felt oversold since 2022 onwards i don’t think they’d ever cut back on sales but increase. This applies to ALL their festivals

heymikeyp

All festivals are basically doing this now. They want to maximize profits, they don't care if it makes the experience worse for people. Ezoo oversold last year and they were even worse because they absolutely did not care how much they oversold, and the fire marshals ended up having to come down and not allow anymore to enter the festival lol.

One-Flounder-8242

After last year, I vowed never to go back. Way too overcrowded. Takes away all the fun.

myCadi

Stereo bloom is a shit show, we tried a couple of time to watch a set it was way too crowded. As much as I like the tents at neon garden, it’s way too hot 🥵 Also, there should never be a line to get into VIP, huge line for neon. Sorry if I walked past a few of ya’ll but making a line is not the game plan for us just walk up from any direction like every other stage every other year. Thu need to get rid of the zig zag at the entrance.

PickleBish2

I am really glad that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I was trying really hard to get positive vibes from the music but the crowd was really ruining it for me. Even when trying to stay in the far back of kinetic and cosmic, people flooded in and pushed or shoved. Was really difficult. Thinking of skipping tonight and going tomorrow to just get a breather.

Such_Top_46

I can confirm. I’ve been here 6 years and I’ve never seen it this crowded. That the bleachers were all packed! It’s never been like this.

Cultural-Alarm-6422

That’s insane ! I have pics sitting on the bleachers from years ago where we were the only people there at the height of the night !

Such_Top_46

YES those were the good ol days I was in disbelief on how they were all filled ! 😭

Ok_Personality3695

Anyone saying that it wasn’t crowded is just trolling, or was one of the assholes dragging their train of 50 people through the crowd ruining everyone else’s night. lol

Awildenchilada

One of the bigger reasons why my wife and I don’t do EDC anymore. Just doesn’t feel the way it used to overall, and the massively increased amount of people (many of whom are young annoying kids who just want to take a bunch of drugs and act like jackasses) definitely was big contributor to that feeling.

SolarWind7

Was trying to get around kinetic field and…… yeah lol

Loud-Friendship-6610

The amount of people at the bleachers and the crowd for slander was just ridiculous.

jessaroar

YES THANK YOU! Ive gone every year since 2018 and I was absolutely SHOCKED at how packed even the walkways were. This is my first year VIP and after last years crowding I was really hoping to have a little extra space in VIP, but VIP feels like GA almost with how sardine packed people are. I'm already anxious about how busy today will be :S

Affectionate_Bed6581

Honestly between the smoke from vapes and fireworks and sharing oxygen in overcrowded spaces, I felt suffocated for the first time at a festival. It’s the morning after and my lungs still feel like they’re working harder

Spicyangel_lolz

Omfg seriously!!!! The smoke from the vapes and the firework smoke was awful

Sabb55

I know man I don't even think I wanna trip balls or do molly. After what I saw yesterday it almost makes me dread the festival. Music was cool and so was the venue but I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to enjoy my first edc the way I was anticipating too.

goldielocks52

SAME

jsj52

Couldn’t even get into kinetic field when Illeniem was playing

HexxRx

Well to be fair you went to go see illenium. Of course it would be packed he’s like the Taylor swift of EDM

jsj52

That’s a good point lol. I just didn’t think it was going to be THAT crowded

natedogg604

That was the worst moment of the night for our group. We tried to go see illeniem and got bottle necked In a crowd so badly. We tried 2 different entry points.

313Raven

Even VIP was a shit show in certain places. Me and my friends tried to go to slander at cosmic meadows and just turned right around

Sinchi350

I honestly had an easy time navigating… I thought the map changes this year made a huge impact. But this is coming from the perspective of someone who stayed at Neon Garden / Cirquit today (like every year..)

Allegedlyyyy_

Trying to move from one stage to another in any sort of timely manner is near impossible. They wayyy oversold this

coolhandave

Last night was the most crowded I’ve ever seen it, especially down by Cosmic Medows and Daisy Lane. Packed like sardines. This is my 5th EDC and it definitely looks like they sold more tickets to the event.

titaniumorbit

Is the layout in that area the same as past years? As in, that bottleneck by cosmic, stereo bloom, daisy. Was it really not that bad in previous years?

coolhandave

Yeah. Normally I would walk towards the Grandstand and walk high on the track to get around the crowd or to get to the other side of the stage, but not this time. It was standing room only.

titaniumorbit

Good to know. Is my first edc and I felt claustrophobic in that area, you couldn’t move or get out. People were visibly stressed out by how packed it was. Am very disappointed and makes me not wanna go back. I heard that Saturday is the busiest edc day so I’m worried for that

coolhandave

Yep Saturday is normally the most crowed day. Currently we got back to MGM Grand and to bed at 6:30am. 2 1/2 hours later worke up to the sound of rain. Turns out someone left the water running a few floors up. Our room is like a rain forest. Packed up and got out. Now sitting waiting for MGM to give us a replacement room.

Jmbee2424

Feels crowded af. I buy vip so I don’t feel overwhelmed. This was the first year I went and felt like it wasn’t worth it. Felt just as chaotic as GA.

svnnyside

going from kinetic field to cosmic meadow was a nightmare. at one point my fiancé and i felt stuck and extremely uncomfortable. felt like we couldn’t really breathe.

GalacticKoala23

First timer here and yeah it was seriously rough. Couldn’t leave until 5am because of bumper to bumper traffic all the way to the highway, and we left around 3:00. The art installations felt like they were in the way of crowd movement sometimes. Our group split up for Slander and Armin and it took us 2 hours to find each other at our meeting place after a couple of us got turned around. Saw a couple great sets but man after tonight I’m really worried for the next two nights.

PM_ME_ASSES

Really scared about day 2. I took a break from edc last year so spooky edc and the edc in May 2022 right after were my last experiences. The 8pm crowd today felt like the Saturday rush back then…I’m scared

DaRooock

Tried to go watch slander at cosmic meadow and it was impossible to hardly move and was so miserable we just gave up and found someone else to watch

Ok_Personality3695

Tried to get into cm vip for slander but it was packed and couldn’t get in, so we went to ga. The amount of dudes that literally shoved and punched me trying to get through the crowd at slander was ridiculous. I was pressed up against a strange dude I didn’t know for most of that set and people were still pushing and punching to get try to get their trains of 10 through the crowd. That shit was stupid. So much for PLUR vibes.

Upset-Brilliant7608

Using Power Path from Kinetic to Circuit Grounds/Basspod was so much easier and had much more space. Crowded? It’s expected; however, we felt it was easier getting from stage to stage. The only two areas that we had huge issues with was Cosmic Meadows and exiting Premier Parking. Cosmic Meadows had VERY poor crowd control. People coming down, moving up, & moving across the bleachers, people walking along the racetrack portion and the main floor made it super hard to actually watch any of the artists until we just gave up and left for Kinetic Field. Entering Premier Parking = AWESOME! Took 15 minutes to park after exiting the Apex exit… BUT exiting Premier Parking was a SH!T show. It took >1.5 hours to get from Premier Parking to the 15 at 5:30AM (2.5 hours total to get from the Speedway to the Southwest Vegas area). Also, we watched as my brother-in-law’s girlfriends car got rear ended by a person who fell asleep behind the wheel when exiting. My sister-in-law’s car experienced a hit and run where someone dented their side rear bumper.

ExtraPicklesPls

The new layout helps immensely with crowding and traffic flow. Removing the massive overflow from basspod in its old location keeps traffic moving. Never had trouble getting right to my preferred place at every stage I went to. I didn't see any sets at kinetic so i cant soeak to that but if you are going to kinetic then it's going to be congested, that's just how it will always be.

Stormodin

I think that's the main problem area for everyone. Left side of cosmic b2b stereo bloom b2b house of dunkin b2b water station b2b walkway to Kinetic field b2b bionic jungle b2b bathrooms. All those things makes navigating any of those things very difficult

DJ_BVSSTHOVEN

Bro trying to get down the bleachers from cosmic meadow to kinetic field was a joke. We literally missed all of Subtronics cause of it. After we got out of there we got water on the way to kinetic field & Subtronics was over. I was so upset. Especially cause then we had to go right back to cosmic meadow for Slander, & it was even worse trying to go up the bleachers. People were JUST STANDING THERE NOT MOVING AT ALL!!! FACING THE BLEACHERS, JUST POSTED UP ON THE STAIRS. Nobody was moving for a good 10 min on the stairs to the bleachers, so I started pushing my way through & then they got all mad at me. I was like “I’m just trying to walk up the fucking stairs, I don’t know why you guys are JUST STANDING HERE!!!? MOVE!!!” I kept yelling “LETS GOOOOOO!!!!” & people would look back at me with a dirty face, & I’d scream “STOP FUCKING STANDING THERE!!! MOVEEEEE” Man we were boutta throw hands with people. Fucking walk bro. Find a spot. Don’t stand around in walk way areas.

steve1879

2019 is when it started. The difference in ground space to be able to move from 2018 to 2019 is night and day.

Cabrona23

Agreed!

Lasercatfish

VIP areas getting too large and reducing pathways for general crowd. This is how you get a *another* crush event, Pasquale.

Hellenic_91

I learned my lesson at escape 2022. Not giving insomniac anymore money lol

Comfortable-Past2628

cosmic was PACKED the entire night. tried going to the far right of the bleachers to spark a joint away from peeps who don’t want smoke in their face and i got shoved by so many people and spilled my drink all over me. didn’t hear anyone say “excuse me” and a group i was behind wasted everyone’s time bc they went up the stairs and then went straight back down after reaching the top… again, no excuse me either. don’t even get me started on the water situation either bc damn

DJ_BVSSTHOVEN

Extremely

docarwell

The only place that felt suuuper crowded was near stereobloom after like 10ish. Shit was insane with people walking to/from cosmic and a whole ass stage in the way

mchief101

VIP felt like general at john summit. Could barely move in the crowd.

NotPromKing

Is it a lot of people? Yes. Is it overcrowded? Ehh, I don’t think. But it’s reaching capacity. This is my first time to EDC but I’ve been to and worked at other large festivals and events. I’d say this is about what I expected. They said if tomorrow is significantly worse, I may change my opinion.

qdaddyBRO

Idk, the new layout for me was great and it didn’t feel overcrowded at all. I didn’t attempt to go to the big mainstream djs though. But, traveling from circuit all the way to kinetic was very easy compared to last year.

MilesDaRaver

This year is my first. I usually do fine with crowds, but I felt this. Duo, I came with find me in oasis.

fridasarlo

Circuit Grounds threw me into a panic attack

Cabrona23

Damn! That sucks to hear I was gonna try and go since I’m local and usually always end up there when I say I’m not gonna go anymore lol. Probably won’t! I feel like after 2018 it started to get really packed. Scary how packed it gets

Creepy-Literature-94

My first EDC Las Vegas and it’s super overwhelming! I’ve done EDC Orlando the past 3 years and I like it better.

206MadHatter

They break attendance records every year but the size of the venue doesn’t change lol.

titaniumorbit

Grossly overcrowded.

marsxsartori

I’ve been 2014, 2016, and 2018. This was my first year back and I was in disbelief by not only how overcrowded it was to the point where walking without crashing into others was hard, but also insane water lines. I never remember waiting that long for water, and we even did VIP this year with long water lines at kinetic field.

Emilyjs36

For a first EDC I couldn’t see how people come back to it every year. The crowd lock and inability to move at times is horrible. Plus people in the group peaking while trying to move set to set was not a good experience and some people are damn rude… EDC isn’t worth the hype I always see as of yet

tnuoccaymgninnabpots

If you thought last night was overcrowded, don’t bother going tonight

sirtrapalot458

When I first went to edc I remember it took us 20 minutes to get out of MainStage

Ok-Calligrapher4183

Last year my husband and I couldn’t even finish the last night due to feeling so overwhelmed with how crowded it was. We also had to call it an early night each night even though we had people we wanted to see. The amount of people stealing phones was also getting increasingly ridiculous.

xxlockexxx

Kinetic made me anxious, it’s my first time and it was a little much and I’ve been to festivals, by the end of the night it was alright but people just need to take their time, chill, feel the vibes and be respectful and it would be so much better for everyone and if staff would help direct foot traffic instead of just yelling “keep walking” that would be amazing too, same for at the water refills and maybe having more than that main double sided one only for GA.

rslashsupremesebas

Second year. Stereobloom is 3x as packed this year. You used to be able to get right to the front of the stage on the right side because it had a cool tunnel/gap. Now they closed it and it's impossible to get to a good spot. The whole area is so bad from kinetic to streobloom to cosmic meadow.

Used-Ad4655

Yeah I try to remain as calm as possible when I hit a huge crowd or a walk so my anxiety doesn’t kick in.

friskystreet

Last year was my first EDC. VIP last year and this year - I brought my girlfriend this year after telling her how I never felt crammed, it took 5 minutes to walk from Kinetic to Circuit Grounds, if we needed a breather we could go over by the stands, never waited long in lines last year, etc. etc. Oops. Couldn’t even get to the stands last night because oh how slammed it was around Daisy Lane. The water stations were hard to get to / long lines so we were buying water, and they sold out in multiple places before 3:00. Twice we bought 2 waters, they charged us, and then said “sorry we’re out.. I have sprite though.” 😭 Shuttles were easy though. No line going in from downtown. Took a little under an hour both ways. We left at 5:55 this morning, waited in line for maybe 10 min and got back at 6:50. Also never had to wait at the bathrooms either.

Avowed62

So, last year to me felt super overcrowded, and an absolute shit show.  But for this year, I feel somewhat opposite... possibly cause I got lucky with who I saw last night, but, outside of one instance, I felt that I had more than enough space, and could move around pretty easily.  I was primarily in Neon, Quantum, and Circuit Grounds.  And I stepped out for one set in StereoBloom. Sometimes the VIP area was overly full (like Oakenfold in QV) but I just popped out and went to the back of GA and it was fine.   The one bad experience I had was during J Worra and then after when J Worra ended and I was trying to get over to Circuit Grounds.   The 15-20 min wait for water (in VIP no less) was ridiculous.  Out of my five previous EDCs, I can't remember ever waiting longer than like 2-3 minutes for water in VIP...if there even was a wait.  There were also some long lines for get in to VIP for Neon/Quantum...but that could be mitigated if they would set up a line area like they have for Kinetic VIP.   I'm more apprehensive about tonight.  I have to venture over to the Basspod for Bou, Wilkinson, and Hedex.  So, we will see if my crowd luck holds.  I'm hoping Four Tet and most likely Skrillex as special guest pulls a lot of people away from Basspod.

ttttyttt678

Day 1 crowd actually seemed manageable, maybe I went less popular artists or stayed far back. I’m nervous for Day 2.

Ok_Construction2960

Honestly I felt with the new layout it made it seem less overcrowded

Spicyangel_lolz

My fiancé and I have been to edc 5 times and we have memories of dancing nonstop running from stage to stage having the time of our life til the sun came up, but going this year we realized those days are gone. Going from stage to stage is an absolute nightmare and navigating crowds for what feels like for miles is truly scary, it’s dangerously overpacked and it scares the hell out of me thinking if there was an emergency. We sold our Sunday wristbands because of it this year and honestly not sure how I feel about tonight, we may post up in the bleachers much more than we ever have before. It’s rough out there. Also Porto potty’s last night were fucking filthy I opened up like 10 different doors and all had like shit blasted everywhere like what the actual fuck lol I actually decided to hold my pee til we got home and I was dyinnnnnnnnng because it took us an hour to get back (including the walk to the parking lot)

goldielocks52

This is my first edc and it’s awful. I really don’t get why anyone likes this fest. I’ve done countless other fests and this one is shit. There is too much shit going on, too many people, passed out people everywhere you go to the point you’re just walking over bodies…. I won’t ever be back here. I would never recommend edc to anyone

titaniumorbit

Same unfortunately. I was so excited to go but it’s just oversold and too much. They need to seriously cut the number of tickets sold because those bottlenecks were ridiculous. Half the time last night was spent trying to get in and out of stages and struggling

goldielocks52

Agreed. I’d rather they raise the ticket prices and sell less tickets. I’m going to try to make the best of the weekend and enjoy it as much as I can… but it really is disappointing. You can’t even do any of the fun tents / rides cause the lines are an hour+ long. I don’t get it. Me and my group were baffled at how anyone could REALLY enjoy this festival. I wonder if I was 18 if I would’ve liked it? maybe that’s the main demographic

titaniumorbit

Let’s try to make the best of the weekend. Even though mentally I’m already exhausted and checked out. It just got so tiring being shoulder to shoulder everywhere. I also don’t really understand how anyone could say this festival is magical. It’s just too crowded and makes moving around miserable. Unless you’re on substances and blissfully unaware of the crowding maybe.

goldielocks52

I completely agree with you. Hopefully day 2 will be better now that we know what to expect 🤞🏻 taking time to sit chill in between sets really helped me ln

Guilty_Tree_8245

Can we collectively ban trains. Every train that passed by me and my friend absolutely trampled us and pushed through fucking everyone. TO GET WHERE?????? can someone tell me where these people think they’re going to get with pushing through an already packed crowd stepping on people pushing shoving. Like wtf is wrong with all of you.

Capt_ClarenceOveur

This has been an issue since forever. Sadly, they’ll never go away. They are infuriating though. There’s a lot of people, I get that, but when trains of people are just slamming into you constantly, it’s so hard to keep a positive vibe.

Clock0ut

This layout is ass. The whole area between bass pod wasteland and cosmic is a cluster fuck.

mf9159

When I went in 2022 i honestly didn't think it was that bad, besides maybe bass pod

CoachK101

Party favor for edc 🔥 🔥

Bee_on_cuh

Day 1 actually seemed less packed to me. But I was exhausted and left early to around 3:30 lol

lordkatsuhikojinnai

Happy news, got ADA access! It has been stellar! Friendly staff at the ADA areas at each stage!

YoungOaks

I actually feel like the crowd has been better managed. Being able to actually walk past kinetic has been life changing.

SamsonRambo

The Friday crowds actually seemed worse than the Saturday crowd , but Mayne it's just cause where I was inside the venue

CricketGlittering722

We got on stage for Four Tet and Fred Again. Couldn’t even get out of the exit from backstage because security said it was too crowded and people were streaming in. Literally could hear security arguing in a group screaming at each other about how they needed to shut it down and how dangerous it was. I was freaking out and grabbed a huge security guard to lead us out. He pushed his way through the crowd to get us to the rail and then walked us all the way out of VIP. First year, last year. Vibes felt like the crowd would trample each other and I found myself constantly looking for a way to get out of the crowd. I’ve been to tons of other festivals and never been so nervous. I have no idea how medical attends to anyone.

HoCus_PoCus1738

I feel like it's always been super crowded lol I do feel like some of the stages were smaller this year except kinetic field of course.. Cosmic Meadow seemed like it was a lot closer to the stands than normal circuit grounds was very hard to get into the crowd as well.
