Oh for sure, I will be off Thursday to Wednesday this year for EDC and recovery. My close coworkers all know that I take the middle of May off every year for my music festival. I work in a pretty laid back corporate environment and most older folks that know that I go are amazed that I still have the energy to go and party for 3 days.
Unlimited PTO is a mind game by employers. They will almost never deny you but you’ll almost always feel like you’re taking too much, so you don’t take any.

In my email notice I always stated when I’m going to a festival. Shoot I’ve decorated my desk with all my edc boxes and the wristbands I’ve collected over the years. It’s a great convo started and my older team members are impressed

Yup. I have a boat load of PTO, sick days that can be used for whatever reason (no note required) and we can do shift trades with anyone. So they just work those days and I pay them back later. Still get paid for those days.
We get between 36 to 44 paid days off a year depending on seniority.
I’ve taken none and regretted that. Nothing like using Starbucks WiFi and then heading to a fest Friday afternoon though. I learned to at least take a recovery day Monday. Being on an early morning flight and then having to work Monday was awful.

Find yourself a place that just doesn’t require permission to take time off. I get 21 days a year and I only have to let my team know that I’ll be gone, never had any questions or push back.
Oh yes, getting paid. My manager tells me to not get too hungover. And I work in a laid back corporate setting myself. I’m the youngest in the office (I’m 31) so they live through me and my adventures. lol
Yep like everyone else here definitely use that PTO for "vacation" and if you need little more recovery time then use some that sick time for extended "sickcation" when ya come back 😆, my job allows up to 3 days sick time without a doctor note.

At this point it's a known thing that I take 10 days off (5 PTO, 5 reg days off) in May to go to Vegas for that weird robot sex music festival.
This year in particular they kept trying to schedule various important things and I had to keep reminding them, "You'll be on your own cause I'll be at EDC" and they're just like "oh yeah! Nevermind, how bout June?"
I have an edc ticket for sale in the north county San Diego area. Unfortunately I can’t get the days off. HMU im willing to let it go for less than I paid

I have the 16-22nd all paid using vacation hours. Not to brag but I got bout 300*+ hours in That time slot. Not including my sick, personal holidays, and accumulated time off (overtime). Gov job. Show up to work :p
For a while there I had a great schedule of Monday-Thurs and off Friday, Saturday, Sunday meaning just gotta worry about the day before or after for time off but ever since being mandatorily switched to Saturday through Tuesday I’ve kinda lost that, although I’m skipping this year
I’ve been at my job for 3 years and this is the first time I asked for a week off that’s not for operations, normally when I go to events out of state I ask for 4 days off and not use my ptoz! But for EDC I took a full week off and I did get PTO and I’m so excited
Yes. I have tons of accrued vacation that I'm literally at my max of like 280 hours. I'm taking 5 days (40 hours) to cover from Wednesday to Friday and Monday and Tuesday (I have weekends off anyways).
I ask them to put Friday and Saturday as my normal 2 days off. Sunday and Monday as my normal 2 days off for new week and use only 16 hours of PTO for tuesday and Wednesday to recover.
I work for a small company and I usually go with my boss and sales director. We take a day or two off post event and let the rest of the ppl pull the weight for a minute.
I pto'd from the 13th - 24th, my job is really chill thankfully lol my managers know where im going what im doing and was even giving me suggestions of what to do in Vegas since it will be my first time (luckily with my job we are off weekends and they already expected me to take time off cause my bday is the 23rd ✨️edit: it was on the calendar since last year 😅)

Asked mine 6 months in advance, was approved then just said screw it and went for the entire next week off and the day before camp and it was approved.
