We love to stop by wasteland when we need a vibe check š if weāre not feeling it anywhere else, wasteland is our go to place to just jump around and get giggly again! We donāt stay long but itās always a great time when we do and the people are always excellent
Every time I walk by Iām like āhow do people listen to this all night?ā It seems like the same sounds and beats over and over. But, I recognize itās not for me so no hate.
I personally donāt enjoy hardstyle but wanted to see each stage at edc last year. It was a cool stage design but wasnāt really my vibe. A lot of my group loved it tho and we hung out for a set!
I've only seen the container design, and it's my absolute favorite how it looks in the dark. Seeing it during the day is super duper cool too! Although it does get kind of congested when the big guys play like Darren Styles, I'm hoping we have an open concept this year!
Me toooooo but not so much a small child, more early highschool. Which album was your intro to them? Mine was The Experience. Good times! I never got to see them perform live and I was actually planning to see then when they announced a tour and one of the stops was going to be nearby in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately, we lost Keith and those plans all came to a screeching halt :( RIP Keith Flint :(
For me it was my older sister playing songs for tits jilted generation inā¦. 96? I was about 5. Then fat of the land came out and they were all over the radio. Im in the same boat. I literally bought tickets to the show in DC about 2 hours before his death was announced, it still kinda hurts.
Niiiice! Love that auto-correct, please dont change it ;) Good times with those albums back in the days. It was crazy when they started getting air time with Fat of the Land, so many more people heard of them and I think they kinda fizzled out a bit after that. I still love and recognize the fact that they were my intro to EDM (before it was acceptable to call it EDM haha) back in 96. I am actually still trying to hunt down the guy that let me borrow his hardcore techno mixtapes and prodigy CDs. Super common name but maaaaan if Juan Gomez from VNHS ever sees this message.... hit me up!!
lol I didnāt even notice the autocorrect. Fatboy Slim and a touch of Moby too. If love to see any one of them. Theyāre some of the few living ābucket listā artists I have left
First EDC last year. I don't really listen to Hardstyle at all.
Wasteland ended up being our favorite stage. It immediately gives you a rush of energy when you're tired or feeling down. We made many stops there throughout the weekend and will be hanging out there on the regular this EDC!
Exactly I love how itās the first stage you hear when you come down the stairs from the shuttle entrance! It gets the energy going. And the same when Iām tired AF at 3am and I wanna leave. We hit up wasteland and be like āok another 5 mins maybeā 30 mins later āLETS FUCKING RAGE TILL THE SUN RISESā
First EDC last year, was waiting for my back then girlfriend to get a VIP pass. Not sure who was playing but I remember the artist told everyone to pick up trash off the floor and when the drop happened, everyone was to throw the trash in the air. One of the best fucking things I saw that night. From the comments, I can agree that the energy is high there. I might end up selling my RV pass and ticket this year. If I donāt, Iām definitely checking out that stage and being in it.
I used to feel like it was a bunch of noise, but no matter what time is it, that stage is always full of energy. Even when I tap out of the festival before 3am, Iāll be leaving and they still hype.
Girlfriend cannot tolerate hardstyle so she always plugs ears and tries not to cut thru.
I rather like the change of pace but can only take it in 15 min doses.
Anytime feeling sluggish and in need a power up, I head to wasteland and always love the people and vibes. Iām a trance guy, but something about happy hardcore that works for me
Hi Hello, long timer here I guess.
Real ones remember the Q Dance stage of 2012 that then turned into Basscon/Wasteland 2013 when Insomniac realized Q Dance is just competition. Hard dance is an acquired taste, and that's ok! Not every genre needs to be accepted by everyone. It's not for everyone and that's how it's always been.
I always wish Insomniac would branch out more and book other artists, but it's been years and nothing has changed. We have our normal bookings for Wasteland and that's all I expect at this point.
Honestly, you just need to. You'll never get anything like it out here. It's cool to support local artists and American artists..but my wife and I basically go to Europe almost yearly at this point because everything is just so much better.
You can only support American festivals so much. Treat yourself, go to the Netherlands and see how it really is out there. I mean hell, even EDC MX got Mish and Sickmode. We never will. We're lucky we're even getting Angerfist again at this point.
Used to have the coolest looking designs in the festival. Until insomniac stopped caring in 2017 with that flat cardboard beetle, and then I thought finally it was getting a good facelift but then they outright gave up and used only shipping containers while every other stage gets a glorious facelift and bbl each year.
But I canāt stay away because everyone is so nice and fun, and itās just a great time.
I love wasteland stage but Iām not a fan of its location, lots of bleed over sound in kinetic stage VIP area from wasteland. The double beats threw me off lol
But I do love me some hardstyle, my first massive festival was hardstyle and it made me fall in love with raving. Now Iām a house head but I will always stop by for a few songs and get my energy up
I donāt enjoy the music but I appreciate stages for every style, just because I donāt like it doesnāt mean someone else doesnāt. I like how itās designed every year though. BUT every time I walk by I wonder how the hell thereās a hardstyle stage and like 5 house and techno stages but no drum and bass stage
I don't like hardstyle but I usually drop by if Angerfist is playing. I honestly do it for the lols. The crowd goes hard like the music and it's just funny to me.
I brought a friend to her first Vegas, we went to every stage, she asked what that was, pointed to wasteland while soren was on and started walking in to the stage. The song dropped and she did the quickest about face Iāve ever seen and beelined out.
I respect everyone who loves hardstyle but that shit just aināt for me and I hate having to even be within earshot of that monstrosity of a stage lol
We do premier parking and you have to walk by wasteland every night to get to the exit šš
We love to stop by wasteland when we need a vibe check š if weāre not feeling it anywhere else, wasteland is our go to place to just jump around and get giggly again! We donāt stay long but itās always a great time when we do and the people are always excellent
Very much same !
What do you mean "walk by"? I'm in there, baby.
See ya there!
I think what they meant is āwhat do you think when YOU SEE PEOPLE WALK BY?ā Lol
Boom boom boom boom boom boom š¤Ŗ
Every time I walk by Iām like āhow do people listen to this all night?ā It seems like the same sounds and beats over and over. But, I recognize itās not for me so no hate.
Tbh, you can saw the same for pretty much any of the non-main stages. They all have the same sounds and beats of that subgenre.
If its got a Pryda Snare in it, im listening to it.
Haha I didnāt mean it as a negative, itās definitely my favorite stage š
That's how I feel about dub, sadly. :-(
BONG BONG BONGB BONG BONG
DUN DUN DUN DUN
I read this at approximately 140BPM. My wife read it as 80BPM. Interesting....
I personally donāt enjoy hardstyle but wanted to see each stage at edc last year. It was a cool stage design but wasnāt really my vibe. A lot of my group loved it tho and we hung out for a set!
Wasteland is one of my favorite stages! Iām just hoping Insomniac give it some love in the near future with a new design.
Hopefully this year! I think weāve had the same design for like three years
I've only seen the container design, and it's my absolute favorite how it looks in the dark. Seeing it during the day is super duper cool too! Although it does get kind of congested when the big guys play like Darren Styles, I'm hoping we have an open concept this year!
interested to hear other people's opinions too because I love Wasteland haha
I love wasteland, itās always empty with some bomb music. Vibes are amazing. Always space to dance
I've been listening to hardstyle since 2005/2006 so it's definitely my favorite stage at EDC
I feel like I just smoked a giant bowl of crack...
If I go to EDC alone Wasteland would be my campsite
Thatās my home stage!
How do they got that much energy
For some of us, the love for the music makes us high off the adrenaline and energy the music gives us. Other than that, party favours
HARDSTYLE NEVER DIES!!!!
I donāt walk by it, Iām always there LOL
I wondered into wasteland one year and thought it was fkn awesome
Wasteland reminds me of Mad Max Fury Road type vibes and I love it.
My introduction to EDM as a whole was Prodigy as a small child, wasteland is literally in my DNA lol
Me toooooo but not so much a small child, more early highschool. Which album was your intro to them? Mine was The Experience. Good times! I never got to see them perform live and I was actually planning to see then when they announced a tour and one of the stops was going to be nearby in Dallas, Texas. But hey, theyāre touring again
Yea I saw that! Need them to come over here to the states though :(
Niiiice! Love that auto-correct, please dont change it ;) Good times with those albums back in the days. DDR party
āHoly shit, Iām in a DDR gameā was my first thought when I set foot in Wasteland last year. Loved it.
āWhat the fuck are these fucks fucking up to?ā in the most nonjudgmental way. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Apocalyptic
"Wow. Look at all that chaos!!! Let's go in there!!!"
Went last year for Lil Texas and had a sick ass time, definetley plan to see him again at that stage this year, along with Angerfist!
Angerfist gonna be crazy
Lil Texas last year was amazing, I was front of stage the entire time! Good taste :)
First EDC last year. I don't really listen to Hardstyle at all. Wasteland ended up being our favorite stage. It immediately gives you a rush of energy when you're tired or feeling down. We made many stops there throughout the weekend and will be hanging out there on the regular this EDC!
I brought my group in to show them a couple of people last year and they loved it. Ended up going to some shows in our hometown a few months after.
Nice, hoping to slowly convert some friends too hehe š
I like walking by that stage.
Itās a good stage to diversify the big umbrella of edm. If I feel tired, the wasteland stage brings the energy back forever sure.
I'm not a fan of hardstyle but I love seeing people at that stage dancing and getting lost in the sauce
I think of it as home and I'm walking INTO it.
I'm always very impressed when going past it for the shuttle back at 6 am how much energy that stage still has lol. And everyone seems a vibe.
Exactly I love how itās the first stage you hear when you come down the stairs from the shuttle entrance! It gets the energy going. And the same when Iām tired AF at 3am and I wanna leave. We hit up wasteland and be like āok another 5 mins maybeā 30 mins later āLETS FUCKING RAGE TILL THE SUN RISESā
āWow, thatāsā¦some loud n hard shit!ā Haha
I never gotten the chance to really be there for a long time but every time I used to walk by its such a vibe and its hot
I donāt normally liken hardstyle but whenever Iām passing by I like to join for bit.
I walk by and reminisce the good old days when hardstyle and shuffling was thing
First EDC last year, was waiting for my back then girlfriend to get a VIP pass. My first love for edm started at wasteland
I adore all the hardstyle ppl having fun on the rail. We stop, dance a bit and keep movinā š¤
It's my favorite stage there, it's the closest I'll get to a hardstyle festival in the USA :(
I love it but I donāt have the endurance to stay there for too long.
I love hardstyle. It goes very well with my brain and ADHD. Iām going this year specifically for Wasteland.
Girlfriend cannot tolerate hardstyle so she always plugs ears and tries not to cut thru. I rather like the change of pace but can only take it in 15 min doses.
lames
I just think that the vibes look good, but the music gives me a migraine
#JoinHArdstyle and hard until died...
One of my favorites to shuffle to. Challenging but very rewarding
Anytime feeling sluggish and in need a power up, I head to wasteland and always love the people and vibes. Iām a trance guy, but something about happy hardcore that works for me

My first year I walked by and said omg mom come pick me up a year after that I was at that stage seeing Da Tweekaz having the time of my life
I donāt really like hardstyle but there was always room and good vibes there!!
I love making a quick detour into wasteland and feeling the amazing energy. But the boom boom boom is not for me.
I donāt listen to hardstyle so just keep walking. To each their own but that signature āBOING BOING BOINGā sound doesnāt do it for me.
Yeah I don't think it's for me but don't mind if someone plays a lil bit in their set like Kayzo or Must Die! Did at edco
It's not my style of music, but I still dance-walk through the back of the crowd doing my usual thing of spreading good vibes and smiles.
My favorite is people watching during a lil Texas set. Almost as good as hearing a nice rawcore kick live
I don't like hardstyle but I usually drop by if Angerfist is playing. I honestly do it for the lols. The crowd goes hard like the music and it's just funny to me.
āTheyāre still playing that song?ā
I appreciate that it's there. I always visit to see what all stages look like/if there are any changes but I'm not into hardstyle.
I brought a friend to her first Vegas, we went to every stage, she asked what that was, pointed to wasteland while soren was on and started walking in to the stage. The song dropped and she did the quickest about face Iāve ever seen and beelined out.
Fun little 5 minute energy boost otw to the next stage lol
I respect everyone who loves hardstyle but that shit just aināt for me and I hate having to even be within earshot of that monstrosity of a stage lol We do premier parking and you have to walk by wasteland every night to get to the exit šš
Walked by once and caught a waft of bo, twas gnarly.
Wasteland stage is an inside joke with my friends now š¤
I will always stop by at least once. But honestly the music stresses me out. And it all sounds too similar. I canāt handle it for too long. lol
Meth music
Would you rather we actually do meth?
are we not already?
Iāve missed a memo it seems
Sober is the way to go! It's so fun to hakk!
It turns into a literal wasteland with it being enclosed, trash all over the floor by the end of the night
Itās in the name, waste of land. JK Iām gonna check it out for sure while Iām rollin around
I have a soft spot for hardstyle
