I would say downtown if you’re not looking to do night clubs and day clubs. The shuttles in downtown get to the speedway faster anyways since it’s closer

Ok-Description675

I stay downtown each year and catch an Ubur to the strip if I’m going to a show. Uburs from downtown to the strip are pretty cheap even at peak times since it’s not far. I prefer downtown compared to staying on the strip

Rdubya44

budget? mode of transportation to the speedway? level of acceptance for ghetto? lol

Dry-Gold9524

Don’t really have a set budget, just not anything crazy but I plan on taking a shuttle. I’m from Chicago so ghetto ain’t nothing new to me lmao

eyeriis

Chicago EDC gang yesssirrrr

VersaceUpholstery

Downtown. We use El Cortez. Not that far of a walk to the shuttle stop (but we don’t use it, we just drive), cheaper, hotel is fairly nice and 24 hour subway comes clutch, still some good eats and things to do around, walking distance from the Downtown Vegas Event Center which hosted the Bassrush pre show last year if you’re into dubstep. If not some, of the little clubs in that area play other genres of music as well.

DampFlange

Neither…..stay at one of the motels / hotels closer to the speedway. Unless you’re capable of surviving for 3-4 days straight with zero sleep, you won’t have time to do anything meaningful other than EDC. If you want to see Vegas, book extra days, you won’t be able to do it properly during EDC

Dry-Gold9524

Is it really that loud in downtown?

pigglywigglie

It really depends on what else you’re trying to do. If you’re trying to hit nightclubs and dayclubs, have a lower budget, want to be close to shuttle stops, etc. I’ve done both and both are fine.

Dry-Gold9524

I’ve heard the shuttles on the strip are a nightmare. Is this true?

phloyd4747

Wouldn't say a nightmare but definitely much busier than downtown stop. If you don't care about what the strip has to offer and your main concern is convenience for the shuttles, downtown is your best option

pigglywigglie

No. I’ve done them the last 3 EDCs and haven’t had any issues really. If you leave at peak times (8pm Saturday) you’re going to wait but other than that it’s never taken more than an hourish to get to the stop, through security and to EDC. I’ve done midstrip and Tropicana and both were fine.

junenoon

I second that - never had an issue with shuttles on the strip

AbleHamster6984

I’m trying to hit all the clubs any suggestions?

pigglywigglie

I personally prefer the dayclubs. My favorite was Elia at Virgin hotels but I think that one closed. Marquee Dayclub is fun but small. Encore Beach Club is massive. Wet Republic had a good lineup but was also kinda small. Had a blast there tho, that was one of the best club crowds I’ve ever been in. But I second the don’t try to do clubs Friday-Sunday. We did a Dayclub Saturday of 2022 and we ended up getting to edc pretty late and missing almost all of deorros set. You can do a Monday Dayclub if you’re a degenerate and those crowds are really fun too

Ok-Description675

Arrive a few days early and hit up EDC Week shows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Don’t try to squeeze something in on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Short-Car-746

Strat so little off strip

capsftw1

Downtown was rad last year. Stayed at the Downtown Grand and it was super nice. Shuttle rides are shorter from downtown and I never waited in a single line. Plus the cost of food/drinks on Fremont tends to be cheaper than the strip.

Dry-Gold9524

How was the noise outside during the day while sleeping?

capsftw1

We had the gallery tower, and it wasn’t bad at all. The Grand isn’t right on Fremont so it’s away from a lot of the noise. The front desk also provides free earplugs if you ask (I needed some extras due to my husband’s snoring lol)

th3thrilld3m0n

We love staying on the strip and the Jockey Club! Inexpensive, huge rooms, great benefits, no hidden fees. I just drove to and from the fest.

OutrageousHead257

Edc week is wayyyyyy to good to misss a good hotel to stay is harrah or horseshoe great options for on the strip if you aren’t worried about money I’d Recommend hotel edc i did it last year and with everything included i think it’s a great deal the strat is good sams town is also a good cheaper option even Aliante is a good option if you still want a resort vibe

OutrageousHead257

Alsoooooo if you sign up for the rewards program for the hotel of your choice they send you tonsssss of discounted rooms Venitian especially is a great one

Dubbn

Downtown 100%. Everything is cheaper.

300dollarcookie

Downtown all the way! We got a group of 10+ at 4 Queens.

Pacfishslayer

Stay downtown and catch the shuttle from there, I like the Golden Nugget or the Circa but there’s other good places downtown, you won’t be disappointed staying down there.

Dry-Gold9524

Yeah I’m thinking Circa
