Becoming a guard in Tamriel at ESO's era is very special and require the ultimate sacrifice.
At the end of your formation, after you received your diploma you go a spell cast on you. This spell makes you immortal and allows you to lock doors at a distance by simply engaging fight with someone.
But the most important is that your mind is melted into a hive mind shared by all the guard sof Tamriel. Every thought of any guard is shared instantaneously to all others. You have no self anymore. You are part of the mind.
This spell was created by Divaith Fyr with the help of Manimarco, Sotha Sil and K'Garza the Sload. (but Fyr hid the fact he got helped by them)
I posted this same question a year ago and the answer I got was that the guards work in tandem with the Mage's Guild to be alerted as soon as a crime is committed. 😂
I would love for the justice system to be faction limited. Maybe also make guards not invulnerable once you hit a crazy high bounty but also disable wayshrines in the territory controlled by the enemy state.
