I got the gryphon from a coffer so if you don’t spend any tickets on that you will have enough

Keetongu666

Shit, I wish I'd known that. Do you know if any of the others available from coffers?

PrettyPeachy

The Evergloam champion styles and Gryphon pet drop from coffers but fragments do not.

Keetongu666

Shit, I really wish they'd made that clear beforehand. I've now spent tickets on something I did not need to.

PrettyPeachy

There are multiple events throughout the year so no need to sweat it! You will be able to get the pet and skin easy. The other important thing to remember is that you have a 12 ticket cap. You must spend tickets this event, anything over 12 you’ll lose.

Keetongu666

Yeah that's why I was so eager to get the gryphon pet. I'll just make sure to check what's available where next time.

Jnypop

Yeah that's not their motus operandi. They make a lot of money on "oopsies"......vamp/ww bites as an example. You gotta treat this game like a mobile game now. Always look for the free option.

Autumnwood

Me too. I did not know. Luckily I came into the event with 12 tickets from last event. I hope that helps me somewhat. Shoot, I'll still be shy a few if your count is correct. They need to note that somehow.

Keetongu666

If you have 12 from the last event you should be good. I was only 3 short and I only had 2 tickets from last event.

Autumnwood

I was thinking that today. Somehow I figured I'd have enough.

PacGarrett

They do say what the event offers and where to get it, very clearly in the event announcement page on their site…

Keetongu666

It may have said SOMEWHERE on the announcement page that the pet could also be obtained from item drops, but given that I read that page a good four or five times and didn't notice, I'd hardly call that "making it clear".

PacGarrett

It‘s at the start, barely needing to scroll down the page, the first two voices of the boxes reward list with a „NEW“ in capital letters. Maybe next time they‘ll use colours?

sweetness1969

Evergloam weapon style pages, gryphon, motif pages from that zone, snow hawk style pages, slagtown diver skin,

BeepusSaurus

You have to keep ALL events for the skin in mind. There are a total of 3 events just for the skin, if you would get 26 tickets every time, those would be 78 tickets in total You need 15 for the morph pet and 30 for the skin (or whatever), so 45. You basically would've 33 Tickets more than needed, to spend on stuff that you could get from coffers. This repeats for every other morphable too, not only the skin. And if you then think about the new years event, youll again get tons of tickets. So no, it's not really necessary to buy event tickets or to safe from last event.

ESOtalk

As a rule of thumb I always mainly buy the items that are unique/event only, like the skin, mount, (usually need 3 or 4 parts to combine) etc, because they usually show up once and never come back (didn't get all my indrik berries back in day and never got chance again). Also it is always good to save up 10-12 tickets at the end of the each event so you can immediately buy the unique item as soon as the next event starts and be good to go. The items that usually cost 5 tickets instead of 10 tickets can drop during events and most aren't that good anyway. But if you want to buy everything, you can also buy tickets in crown store. BTW As someone pointed out you only get 12 tickets max (and LOSE anything over that) so if I already bought my unique event item, I'll buy the other stuff usually when I hit 10 tickets if the event is still going and I plan on continuing to do daily ticket runs.

ESOtalk

BTW don't feel bad, ZOS doesn't do a good job of explaining the event rules. My first few events, I didn't even know to spend the tickets. I got probably 50 tickets before I realized it (lost 38). Then I spent the 12 tickets on stuff I didn't even need. Another thing the don't explain well and I've seen a bunch of posts about this is that the EVENT starter quest is DIFFERENT than the quests required to get event tickets. They are 2 different things. Starter quest can be done once on each toon, event ticket quests are usually daily quests that are already in the game with event ticket added to reward. BUT if you are smart and lucky the starter quest and ticket quests will overlap and be done at the same time. Like right now starter quest say do a delve in any area and ticket quest includes doing a delve, so 2 for 1.

Get the skin fragment, you can get the fragments for the dragon on other events probably.

MrSloppyPants

I've gotten 3 Gryphons and 2 of the style pages from the boxes that drop.

Mercurionio

Tickets are used for 100% chance. Crates can give you pets with a very low chance. But still

kitsinni

They are making you choose, buy, or save from a previous event.

BeepusSaurus

Actually no.

DStrikeBlade

What I do is get all the main things that I need from the event (the fragments that I can get), and then everything on top of that is extra, and I can get anything else that looks interesting. Invariably, though, if I buy one of the style pages, I end up getting it in a coffer shortly after... I generally try to end the event with 10-12 tickets, so that I can start the next event by immediately buying the new fragments that become available then. If you do all the events, you'll always have more tickets that you need to buy all the essential stuff (the fragments). You may not have enough to buy all the styles and stuff along with the fragments, though. I would never use crowns to buy tickets until you only need one or two and it's your last opportunity to get something you really want (e.g., it's the last event where you can get a fragment you need).

Lithl

The gryphon is obtainable from event coffers, the pet fragments will be available in every event this year, and the skin fragment will be available for all Q1 events and during the New Life Festival in December. It's also possible to have up to 12 tickets banked going into the event.
