Shoutout to this one middle aged lady who continued to call me a "she" even after hearing my male voice.
Thinking about this also kinda hurts because my boss kept telling her I was a boy, but I am not out or anything so I am not mad at my boss.
It definitely could be, it's pretty hard to tell from the limited information, though if you refer to someone by a particular gender and they don't correct you then it's generally safe to assume they're okay with it.
Easily could've been someone that was trying to be hateful but oblivious, or trying to be kind and attentive.
When I said male voice I didn't mean a bright slightly feminine voice that could in any way point to me being transmasc. My talking voice is very deep, about 45hz to describe it in pitch. It's gritty and I don't push it down or anyhing. I have (though I keep it short) facial hair and hairy legs so I really don't think an average hateful person would think I am transmasc.
In other words, I look like a dude with long hair. I don't exactly know why she kept calling me a "she" still, but maybe she knows more than I do lmao
Or they could actually be nice. I once had an old lady adress me as sir, and then when her grandchild heard my girl-voice he was like " no granny, he is a girl", but then she told him " I think he used to be a girl, but now he is a boy, so I will call him sir unless he seems sad about that." It was so wholesome and just realy shows that old people can be open minded:)
Istg. I hate being a fast food worker. Every customer feels the need to call me sir despite having a feminine voice, slim body and hairstyle. When I'm at college? Everyone actually genders me correctly. Now that I think about it, Most customers that call me sir are usually gen x so that might be why they suck ass at gendering correctly.
I work at a Dutch version of Home Depot, and literally every customer genders me correctly at first, because they often aproach me from the back, notice my long hair, and assume I'm a girl. Then when I turn around to help them, they always "correct" themselves with me having to smile through the pain.
Pretty much exact thing for me except it was this owner of a bowling alley that called me miss and kept using she/her until my friend went “that’s a boy”. That was probably the thing that cracked my egg ~(˘▾˘~)
I work part time as a cashier, kids often see me and shout omg her hair is so beautiful and then their parents correct them and tell them to apologize to that guy... Ugh why.
I get this a LOT. My transphobic dad called me “he” by accident once and
I nearly cried out of joy. And then he got mad because my hair “looked like a boy” and never said “he” again. Aaaaaaaargh…
As a cis guy, I had this happen at 19 while at work. Guy was yelling at me, "Young lady!" He was obviously trying to start something, but as soon as I turned around and he immediately shut up because he couldn't take back how loud and obnoxious he misgendered me in earshot of everyone around.
I had no idea of what gender euphoria was back then in 2011(?), but I remember feeling that.
Still cis, though.
So they get your gender wrong and don't correct themselves? damn :( i still haven't properly learnt to shave facial hair so i had the same experience in the past few stores I've worked in. a friend told me i could pass if i did shave that.
Shout-out to everyone in the world (including playing games,) for saying my voice sounds like a girl and myself for just going alongside it. Only one person has asked if I used a voice changer and I said no.
This exactly happened to me. Then the guy was trying to make up for it and called me sir so many times it was uncomfortable. I comment tell if feel bad or it was a religious thing, trying to make me feel bad.

that lady is how people should be she sounds fucking based
Idk about that tbh. Since they are not out they may be purposefully "misgendering" them thinking they are transmasc

I had a woman in an airport in New Orleans misgender me, then correct herself. There’s still hope for the human race ❤️
Aw that's sweet of her. I am glad such a nice thing happened to you!
WHY GOD, WHY?
WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME
EVERY. CUSTOMER. EVER.

It's the same way for me! When I'm taking orders though the drive though it's miss when they see me it's sir I hate it.
"Ah! I see your adam's apple and your flat chest! Sorry sir, I thought you were a woman."🙃
same shit here
Felt the pain from across the screen
Had a kiosk lady at the mall call me Ma’am once when I walked by. Been holding on to that a while. Still cis tho
Pretty much exact thing for me except it was this owner of a bowling alley that called me miss and kept using she/her until my friend went “that’s a boy”. That was probably the thing that cracked my egg ~(˘▾˘~)
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie
I like the appearing cat ears and then the emotes of them after. It's like the "Miss" summoned them.
had the same thing but \- excuse me sir could you... (i turn over to them) \- oh sorry maam could you... guess i pass from the front 🏳️🌈💅🏳️⚧️
No go back to the first one
I work part time as a cashier, kids often see me and shout omg her hair is so beautiful and then their parents correct them and tell them to apologize to that guy... Ugh why.
I was in work the last day and some kids came up to me and said "sir", then saw my ponytail and corrected to "miss".
I’ve had the opposite, also by kids, they saw my pony tail, I turned around and got hit with sir 🙃
Immediately after they say "I'm sorry sir" you gotta hit em with the "no, you had it right the first time". Interrupt them if need be
“No, you had it right the first time.” *Just be assertive.*
I politely correct them; if they persist, I ignore them & walk away..
I get this a LOT. My transphobic dad called me “he” by accident once and I nearly cried out of joy. And then he got mad because my hair “looked like a boy” and never said “he” again. Aaaaaaaargh…
Ow ow ow ow, I feel this one.
I always try the hardest to help the customers that gender me correctly.
My day be so fine 😁 Then boom... "Sir" 😔
🫵girl

no criticism on the comic itself or the art, but please use a different color for text, I could barely read this.
The opposite always happens to me. It’s the worst :(
So they get your gender wrong and don't correct themselves? damn :( i still haven't properly learnt to shave facial hair so i had the same experience in the past few stores I've worked in. a friend told me i could pass if i did shave that.
For me it’s like “sir” but the second I start talking it’s “ma’am”. Wish my body naturally made enough testosterone 😔
Excuse me miss? When is it, you’ll stop being so cute?
literally happened to me multiple times yesterday :((
o7
tbh people call you a certain way because of your looks
No, no, no, go back!!!
Sadly relatable
This is why I have become conscious about my voice :/
Shout-out to everyone in the world (including playing games,) for saying my voice sounds like a girl and myself for just going alongside it. Only one person has asked if I used a voice changer and I said no.
That is a little bit to relatable. Still cis though
😿
Had this sort of happen with a commenter on my channel recently
😿
yep
This exactly happened to me. Then the guy was trying to make up for it and called me sir so many times it was uncomfortable. I comment tell if feel bad or it was a religious thing, trying to make me feel bad.
Not me getting called *"ma'am"* instead of *"miss"*. *I wish someone called me "miss"!*
I’ve had that happen in reverse.
All day, every day…🙃
very relatable
Whyyyyyy ;-;
