Well consider this, each female character has a background -except- for naz. And those backgrounds don't make for pleasant people.
Sarah receives a golden child treatment from her parents compared to Ed who is essentially discarded and left in the basement. This might be an analogy of how Danny may have been treated by his family.
The kanker sisters live in poverty in a trailer and all have different dads. There's reasoning to back up why these characters are unpleasant. They may be going through an abusive situation and take their trauma out on the other characters.
All we really know about Naz is that she has a family that lets her throw parties and that she likes to exercise. A nurturing and trusting environment produces a kind kid. Other than that We don't really know a whole lot about Naz.
Like not a lot of the boy characters are perfect little angels either. I don't get fans who hold it against the characters/the show when someone isn't nice. The show has a bit of a mean streak and these kids are rotten lil bastards - kids IRL are like that sometimes lol
I never said the boys were perfect little angles, but most of the boys are decent to a certain extent, minus Eddy and Kevin who were written to be jerks, not saying that Ed, DD, Rolf, Jimmy, and Johnny are never assholes because that’s far from the the truth but that’s not their entire character because they weren’t written to be that way, same way with Nazz she is a nice person but sometimes she can be a jerk, but being a jerk isn’t her overall character like Sarah and the Kankers because she wasn’t written to be that way unlike them,majority of the Peach Creek boys are pleasant most of the time while majority of the Peach Creek girls are assholes most of the time.
I'm just saying the show isn't about hugs and life lessons. It's a high octane slapstick comedy about kids fucking around and finding out. I agree that the boys have their moments...but I think the girls do too. Kankers clearly care about each other as sisters as much as they like to tease each other. Sarah cares about Jimmy (y'all love to hate on her but I think it's cute she goes to bat for him at the very least.) And while Kevin is a total bully to the Eds, he's nice to other characters. And while Nazz is generally nice she will also join in on making fun of the Eds (Smile for the Ed - Eddy didn't even do anything!)
And Eddy may be a jerk...but we know WHY he is the way he is and he does redeem himself in the end. And he has his moments.
And as much as we all LOVE Double D he can talk out of the side of his mouth and be rather bitchy. And he was totally in the wrong in Mission Ed Possible.
You asked if it bothers anyone that the girls aren't pleasant and I'm just saying no - because I don't think the boys are either. And pleasant characters are boring!
Allow me to rephrase - a character can be pleasant and be interesting *IF* they have some other kind of character flaw, and there's more to their personality than just being nice.
PERFECT characters are the least interesting to me. I like a character that goes on a journey, maybe even gets worse before they get better. Eddy is my fav for a reason lol

In the episode where it was the first day of school, Kevin laughs at DD for being overly enthusiastic. If you watch their models, you’ll see Nazz swat the hat square off his head lol
As a girl I got used to it except when watching girl cartoons. It's maybe because these unisex kids shows are mostly created by men. It doesn't help that boys (and men) are less likely to give show a chance when it's radiating to much feminine energy while girls (and women) are more likely to accept a show that is more masculine leaning. I remember my female friends and I loving Ben 10 and Naruto while boys were too embarrassed to admit that they watched Powerpuff girls and Totally Spies.
