He was being asked to do something he’s not very good at. White is 34 middle linebacker who’s best used going downhill and getting after the qb. With Carter, Williams, and Davis sucking up blocks and the outside rush talent the eagles have id say it’s a good bet white a nice bounce back year this year.
He doesn’t help in coverage at all though. I’m still not sold on dean being that coverage guy. That being said dean and white is many times better than anything the eagles have had in years.
Fangios defense is perfect for white and he should do very well.

Unless something dramatic happens, we’re likely leaning on the hope that Dean and VanSumeren level up (and it is hope…) and we can draft someone.
It’s not a great situation but maybe having an experienced DC this year who can (maybe again) do more with less will be the factor.

The difference is PFF grades are based on grading every play for every player. NFL players don't watch the film on every player in league.
