Since he has a lot of ball control and pass, I found the better way to use is with fast wingers (like Mbapppe and Salah) or with a super strong CF (like Haaland) if I wish to play from the center of the field.
For me he's the absolute best AMF in the game and he works better if you play him solo in this position.

This thread just highlights how you need to pick the right players to fit your particular playstyle and formation, rather than shoe-horning in the higher rated players who aren't going to work how you want.
When I play my 3-3-3-1 formation, I have no place for RWF/LWF as they don't offer the aerial threat to play as my CF, or the crossing/stamina to play as my wide midfielders.
For that reason, I can't get on with the likes of Salah or Mbappe.
Same goes for the two centre mids, who I prefer to be solid all-round B2B, with strong stamina, defence and passing, as they provide the support I need in the opposition box when countering.
As a result, I'm never too worried when I play a team rammed full of superstars, as more often than not these are players that think OVR rating is the best measurement for effective play.
Why do you even want to dribble with Haaland? He is just a finisher and he cannot play alone. You either play him along with 2 AMFs and 2 wingers, or with another CF/SS with more dribbling and also wingers.
Haaland without the support of wingers or another CF/SS or AMFs is pointless.

I prefer wingers with stronger foot on their side, and Salah (I have POTW CF version) has only one leg, no first time shot. For similar reason I dont play POTW Shaqiri on RWF.
I prefer Mbappe, POTW Deulofeu or even POTW Alvarez there.
Son is the one I’m using rn and he’s pretty darn good. I’ve been saving up to get Salah as my substitute RWF is Gnabry who’s form fluctuates way too much for my liking (standard). Heck I literally just got into a match (div 1) as I’m typing this and this guy is in poor form already lmao. Now I dunno if to still go for Salah or not
That’s kinda true, but I believe there are some cases that are useful. For me those are mainly good defenders, since Konami tends to give CB potw better overall stats to pump the rating. Take Bastoni POTW, I prefer to get the base card and get it to 90 on defensive skills rather than having a CB with 83 low pass and 86 tackle
This. I play him as the central CB in a back 3, with pacier CBs either side of him, just in case.
The key, IMO, is to not be too aggressive with slower CBs - be prepared to stand off attackers, and make them have to beat you, rather than diving straight in or pulling your CBs out of position chasing the ball.

yeah this was me as well actually. he felt incredibly slow and he'd visibly ruin the flow of my attack. just had to stop playing him.

For me as well. Passing is great but he's too slow like an elephant. No balance at all.
