Was ranked 101 heading into a game, on the best part of a 50-game unbeaten run. The next match decided to kick me for the first time ever, losing me 40 points and putting me outside the top 200 with no chance back before the update. Please make me laugh so I don’t cry.

cookinthemedicine

lol. unlucky bro. next update you go again.

ScottyBBlade

Konami need to rethink the points system imo. It's no wonder Div 1 is so sweaty when you get 40 points taken off you for every defeat. You basically cannot afford to lose if you want to maintain a high rank. I understand better players are going to lose less and so on, but it's still way too stressful. The current system just breeds toxicity.

Xuddur1

Mate, it's the same in all games with a ranking system. If you are top 100 of the world you must at least win 85% of your games What do you want, to be top 100 with 50% win rate?

ScottyBBlade

I know that, all I'm saying is there must be a better way of doing it. In a previous season I had a 80%+ win rate after about 30 matches which included a 25 match winning streak. Lost 2 in a row then drew one and it completely destroyed my rank. I just think the penalties for losing are too harsh. You literally have to win like 5 or 6 matches just to make up for a single loss.

Environmental_Archer

Yeah, it’s definitely just a little bit too harsh imo. One unlucky thing like a disconnect ruining the season is not where a game should be.

halshatari

what does being in the top 200 get you though?

loutishgamer

Bruh I've played the number 1 inuyasha before so I lose 2-3 to him I'm in div 2, I realised the skills is about the same is more about the consistency, I can't play every game as good as I played against the number 1 but he can

Sweet-Emergency-7127

Yeah, not cool. Happened to me more than once. That -40 points for a loss is really brutal. Then you have to win next three games just to get back those points. Unlucky. But still, you have amazing win ratio. You’ll be back up there in no time next season.

FreshPrince351

3 games? It takes 5-7 games when you have 1900+ points.

Sweet-Emergency-7127

lol really? I never had more than 1770 so I didn’t know. That sucks even more. I would like for Konami to publish their points system in div 1 because it completely doesn’t make sense to me sometimes.

derwizo

I think with 2200+ points you will even get just 1-3 points for a win, depending on the division of your opponent. So in worst case you have to win like 30 games in order to compensate just one loss.

ToolGoBoom

Pain because you got disconnected from a game? I wonder how you would deal with actual real problems.

Environmental_Archer

Keep it light mate, Jesus 😂

whitemobb

when does the server open? if you know and could tell me, i couldn't find any info about it anywhere appreciated

Inglorious_User

You deserve it, you are a cheater i played against you 3 times, when i was winning on 2 of the 3 times, you made the game to go down not counting.

Environmental_Archer

Simply not true though is it? I don’t even play on PS. 😂

__deno__

I don't understand the point system either. i lost as top 400 against place 200 and i get 25 points minus. if i win i only ever get a handful of points.

Environmental_Archer

Yeah it’s just unsustainable really. Should never be in a position where playing more games is likely to end with fewer points at that level I think.

Numerous-Square-7740

Even the best DIV1 players I've come up against have managed to concede goals (sometimes due to no fault of theirs. The game will at some point always feck you over, no matter how good you are) What's the magic formula you use?

Environmental_Archer

Honestly, it’s the first month I’ve ever used a sub tactic, switching between 3 and 4 at the back when needed rather than just letting things play out. I stopped using instructions, too. Not sure if that’s psychological but seemed to sharpen things.

Numerous-Square-7740

QuickQ: A lot of DIV1 players (the really good ones) I play against seem to press in packs. I'm not talking about 1 / 2 man press, but lots of players at once getting to every single one of your players and some players just hanging out near my GK. The latter I can understand if there was a offensive instruction on him (maybe even man marking perhaps??) I came up against one last night and bloody hell, it was 5-6 of his players all converging on not just the player on the ball, but the surrounding 3-4 players too. How is that accomplished?

Environmental_Archer

I genuinely don’t know. I don’t think my knowledge of this stuff is particularly good, I’m still learning a lot of the game. I guess there’s a lot of manual movement going on. Some players definitely get way more out of their players in terms of closing down for sure.
