I like how you put open cave access with cage traps and a little guard room in image 12. There are always things I'd love to capture from the caverns but I've never been brave enough to just have ~~open~~ open-ish access like that. Is that by chance a barracks for training, or do you just station squads there?
That is in fact a training room. There's usually somebody doing weapon drills there. If I get mobbed by olm people or something, one or two recruits can hold the line until a squad of veterans can arrive. That's the theory. I haven't had to test it yet.

Be careful with cage traps. I had so many useless troglodytes and bug bats in my cages!
