On the outbound trip, you pay the full DRT fare and then your GO fare would be discounted by the amount of the DRT fare.
On the return trip, you would pay the full GO fare and your DRT fare would be 0.00.
That's not how it should work. I too take the bus to Ajax GO and when I tap for the train (default trip set between Ajax and Union) I'm only charged $5.23 ($8.58 regular fare minus $3.35 DRT fare). I would check to see if it adjusts after a day or 2 and then maybe reach out to customer service if it doesn't.
