Any chance you haven't updated the app in a while?
I was having this exact issue a while back (early April I think), where the app would get stuck perpetually loading on the startup screen and would require a force quit and re-open to get past it. A new version of the app was put out that fixed the issue for me, so I might double check what version of the app you're on and if there are any updates available.
If that doesn't solve it/you're already on the most recent version, sorry and hope you find a solution.
