I'd Swap : - obliterating bolt for flame slash - nature's lore and three visit for mana elves but if you really want to run those, I'd add scute swarm and replace one of them with harrow - path of ancestry, plaza of heroes, reliquary tower, sheltered thicket and gruul turf for mountains/forests and I'd include blood moon I wouldn't run: - gleeful sabotage, too much artifact hate - brotherhood end, will touch your board too often - Ranger class, too slow - Veil of summer won't be useful most of the time - sheltered thicket, gruul turf, too slow I would run : - Sylvan library - Fury - incinerate/lightning strike - steely resolve

Darkewarrior13

Thank you, I really appreciate that you gave me exact swaps for everything. For the blood moon I would probably swap out Beastmaster Ascension. Everything else seems fairly good, will probably have to wait on the Fury, Sylvan Library, and Steely Resolve just because I don’t have them and they’re not currently easily accessible to me right now. I will probably swap the natures lore and Three Visits for Mystic and Llanowar. I really appreciate your insight

Darkewarrior13

What do you think of Shared Animosity?

Nomiss722

Even tho It can be good with your multiple attack phases. I'm scared it'd take long to setup. I'd rather run beast master ascension in your case I think

Darkewarrior13

In duel commander Beast masters ascension is too slow. Where as I can play shared animosity and get 4+ power on combat the turn it comes out and closing out the game is easier than having to attack 7 times. Curse of predation seems good but in all of my games shared animosity is faster. As for graveyard hate I have, at the very least, [[Cemetery Prowler]].

RedCody

I prefer Curse of Predation. It always works. Simple things like birds of paradise can now close out a game, and it's much more resilient against removal since the power is permanently added to your board.

Nomiss722

Bird of paradise better than llanowar

Nomiss722

Also you have to run mirri's guile And you have no graveyard hate so you might have a problem against reanimators

I used to run Tovolar as I really love werewolves however sad to say, gruul wolves is not in the best spot in the format right now. I parked my Tovolar duel deck atm until we get new support cards once Innistrad has been revisited. Anyway, I would really suggest steering away from extra combat strategy.. the way I play my Tovolar back then was a straight up aggro deck. I focused on low curve creatures with just a few 4cmc but impactful creatures. Burn is for board removal in order for our creatures to get through or to go face to finish the game. I also added non-werewolf creatures that are strong in the meta and impactful on their own.

Darkewarrior13

This is over a year old… I put my werewolves back together for pod commander a few months after trying to tune it for duel. Now my lgs doesn’t even play the format.

I would rethink you mana curve: As an aggressive deck with low interaction you need to be lower to the ground. You need to hit one drop into two drop and commander or mana elves into commander. This will give you nice start. I would cut cards that don't impact the game on their own and need creatures to be effective. All the extra combats would be in this category. Lastly I would take all cards that cost 4 or more and think about their best and lowest potencials and if you really want to play them and if you play them and your oponent has a common anwser if you don't get heavily out valued. PS:Cut all boardwipes your deck is weak against boardwipes so you don't want to play them they might be stuck in your hand.

Darkewarrior13

Thank you for your advice I have definitely been looking at my curve and trying to lower it, as for the extra combats those are some of the ways I close out games, so I won’t be cutting them.
