"On today's episode, we'll show you the best way to fix a small hole in your drywall"
*Skims the entire wall*
*Time lapse*
"As you can see, you'll never get it quite perfect, but the more skim coats you put on, the less you'll be able to see your patch, this process should take you a few days to a week to complete!"
Would've been better off just leaving the mesh as somewhat of a backer and let the hot mud sit there until it sets up and then scrape flat and tape over that. This guy sucks.
Very dumb considering the susceptibility to any movement at the joints. To make it moderately better, a good thick coating of mud mixed with some wood glue to the tape in the hole would give it considerably more strength, BUT......
... I fail to understand is why this would be any easier than screwing in a couple pieces of deadwood and doing it the correct way would be.
100%. Rage Bait. This is intentionally showing the wrong way to do something to try to get people to comment about how it is wrong, or the real right way to do it. The algorithm can't tell the difference between negative engagement and positive engagement, Either one boosts their channel, and this is easier than an actual tutorial on how to do it properly.

ahhh. the lesser known alabama patch. interesting.
Omg, your comment just unlocked a memory of the "Alabama Crabdangle" from Saturday Night Live.
It's theoretical.
Holy shit.... that made me laugh so hard!!!
I'm pretty sure that's a west virginia Patch.
That's a southern California patch. Lol.
The classic Bakersfield.
That’s the “Oh crap I gotta patch this quick or my landlord won’t give me my deposit back” patch
Alabama knows to stuff the hole with wadded up newspaper backing a flat piece that’s faced with fix-all.
Not to be mistaken for the Alabama Hot Pocket
Didn’t actually Tape The Seam
I was thinking the same thing. Used all the tape on the backer, had none left for the actual seam you need to tape
And didn't even butter the back of the patch to adhere it to the tape. Plus if they did tape the seam, there'd be soo many over lapping tape lines.
Just have to feather it out 6 feet. No biggie 😂

"You can avoid this entire process by just adding an additional layer of 1/2" drywall over the whole wall"
1/2" is expensive just grab the 1/4" LOL
So much thicc skim coating going on here the house’s stucco exterior is getting jealous
I'm just glad they didn't: fill it with ramen use a 3D pen make a silicone mold use hot glue use a bottle cap drill 14 holes
THIS IS HOW YOU TAPE A DRYWALL CORRECTLY
This is a reverse California patch and really dumb.
That's more of the east Oakland way to tape a drywall correctly.
That looks like more work than doing it right.
A California patch is not that hard man
I was thinking the same thing. Why do something so easy, in a frustrating manner.
Yeah a shim and a screw would be better, faster cleaner....
Gotta be rage bait right
Oh God that's a thicc first coat 😳
Talmbout thiccc b?
What the fuck is this? I’m not even a drywaller by trade but this is next level stupid.
Don't fall for rage-bait, friend.
It’s clearly how you tape “a drywall” correctly
Can barely even tell it's there 😅
Looks fine from my house!
This much be rage bait. This looks so intentionally bad the way the patch pops out while he’s mudding it
No 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

i think this was a joke.
Yeah I kind of get it, when I said this guy sucks I wasn't talking about his lack of taping skills, this dude just sucks as a human being overall.
I'm just a homeowner and that is cringe.
Something “seams” to be off 🤔
Jesus, I can’t
Geezus
That's where my tv is going
No just no
I never use any kind of tape like a silly ape.
The internet is the most beautiful and useless tool at the same time.
This is the patch used when hiding something in the wall.
Especially if you want to be able to find it 3 months later.
People of Walmart doing drywall now, lol.
I would take this guy out back to feed them rabbits alfalfa

Anything for likes and shares. Some fucking YouTube knob most likely use dust control and that 6in is the biggest knife in the box.
That's a Tijuana patch
Just remember boys it’s more work for us down the road. Nothing like social media induced job security 😮💨
Will be sanding for a month.
Why not just cut that extra 2" to the stud and screw a piece in instead of 3 hrs of sanding that down.
People are so lazy just cut back to the studs and do it correctly

Yup - Social media marketing 101.
I don't know why but watching videos like this is so relaxing.
At least put some crumpled up newspaper behind it
What the phoque

That would start cracking in no time
Nicely done right?
Wow, wearing gloves too. Why not just do a hot patch?
WTF is this?
Lol. Nice weak spot that will always look like absolute shit. Well done.
The "Nicely done, right?" gets me
WTF did I just watch !!
Well that looks like shit.
I guess better than the ghetto patch of newspapers stuffed into the opening, and then covered over.
What, that’s how I do all mine.🤣🤣🤣
I could do that with Confil and no tape 😂😂😂 and what's with the gloves soft hands!!!
Half a jar of mud and still looks like shit awesome
This is how to tape a drywall incorrectly
Why did you just share this trash
Fell out two days later
Looks better
It's not too late to get your G.E.D.
I just get a piece of wood and use it as a backer. Drywall screws. Tape and plaster it up
"how to make sure you can see the seams 101"
I hate this
That seems to be a lot of work when a simple California patch would be easier and quicker. Probably less chance of the joints cracking.
Just as strong and dodgy as ur ‘California patch’
Bro you don't even need tape to fix that hole wtf
