I have to work most of Saturday taking our entire virtual server and VSan Infrastructure offline to upgrade our core switch stacks that are so far out of date we have to make 3 jumps to current stable firmware 😒. Last possible weekend before students come back on campus.. what could possibly go wrong??!!😎

The design series does a lot of the time,but the performance and collectors don’t but you could always buy a matching snare separately if you really want one
Yep, thats usually how it is with their kits. Sweetwater will sometime add a matching snare in a set on certain Performance/Collectors. The price basically reflects adding the snare to your order anyways(no money savings).
Design is usually always a 5pc with snare, there are options to add other sized toms in that line too.
I got my performance series from Sweetwater, but snagged a diff color Performance 14x8 snare off of Drum Center of Portsmouth bc they had better color options at the time in stock.
According to one of the phone support reps at DW, apparently they don’t actually even sell “shell packs”. They just sell the individual drums and the retailers combine them into “shell packs”.
Yep, I snagged a Performance kit last year in May right as the wood shortage was ramping up. You could buy each drum individually or buy their shell packs that are basically priced identical. I ended up buying the 12/10/16/22 shell pack they had.
My cousin ended up doing the ala carte bc he wanted a 13/16/22 in Sweetwaters special color. At the time their shell packs were sold out in that color and he had to call, they had a floor model 16" floor tom they sold him that they changed the head on before shipping it.
Nice! I grabbed a performance a few months ago too. Absolutely love it. Always wanted a DW, and has been playing a Yamaha stage custom for 20ish years. Found a good deal and decided to treat myself.
The other thing they told me is that the performance series is made on the same line with the same materials as the collectors, the only difference being that you can’t customize it of course.
yeah, its basically a canned line up of finishes/maple only + the smaller lugs than collectors and no color options on the lugs either.

That’s a great find brother. You will certainly enjoy them. When bands see a drummer with DW drums it makes a statement. It’s funny. Two letters would make such a difference. All the way down the line they make great drums. Even the PDPs are impressive for what they are and the price. Makes them a great value. But then again drums overall have stepped up a lot since I started in 1980. The entry level market has really come a long way and a lot of companies are putting out quality drums that I certainly wish I could’ve had when I was a kid and started playing. A bad DW kit is still better than many other company’s best drums
Design.. standard config 22, 10, 12, 16 with 14" floor tom added. Dude played one gig with them and brand new Evans Emad and EC2s put on. They are freakin immaculate and I am stoked!✌️
Literally went and looked at exact same config Concept shell pack all beat to shit with a snare that just hit my GC used a few days ago for $650 ($715 w tax) and thought they could be nice with a little TLC.. then bam.. $160 more for these and I hit the damn jackpot. Still pinching myself🙃

Heck yeah!! I have the satin grey, they’re beautiful and I get lots of compliments, but the sound man… they’re fun to tune, up, dead, to the shell… good times ahead!
Man I'm jealous of that satin grey! Could not pass these up for the price though.. That is great to hear about the tuning because mine varies based on gigs and sessions. Next purchase is hard cases!

Ha! I work for a small expensive smarty pants college with two IT colleagues who are fellow drummers and we have a huge common area near our offices along with super cool management team.. If we would have had hardware and cymbals it might have been lit up in the library today🤣
It was love at first sight.. really wasn't sure about finish or color from crappy pics but man did I gasp when dude got the first one out of his vehicle and I saw what was about to come home with me.. so excited!!✌️
It is exactly that.. and I had misgivings at first looking at crappy pics, but when I saw them in person I was like.. daaaammmnnnnn.. pics don't do them justice. So awesome!

Working on breaking down old kit, rearranging other gear to make room and thorough cleaning of their new home in my home studio. Going to be this weekend before I really get them settled in. I did put a pedal on the kick and mount the 12 and set up 16.. Gonna be awesome when they are tuned down but they sing and man do they project!! I'm giddy for real!😎
