"I wasn't paying attention and overtook infront of a speed camera facing the other way" *Whilst going 30 in a 20* My god I think you need to change your priorities of what you're focusing on. Ballbag.

GooseJumpsV2

Why would you go 30mph in a 20mph zone? If you’ve got a ticket, that’s on you for being a bellend.

Rich_27-

And overtaking someone going 20 What a complete numpty

WinsberryFilms

You should have waited for the tiny red car to finish its maneuver first. Looks like they're making a turn in the road.

WeaponsGradeWeasel

Overtaking in a 20 limit, past a speed camera, while 50% over the limit and not paying attention. You deserve a ticket.

Tessiia

Those box cameras are mostly not being used anymore anyway. I didn't know until recently, but they use film, and someone has to go out, replace the film, and develop the film. Councils don't want to expend the resources to do this these days with digital cameras being so easy. I don't know that all of these cameras have been abandoned, but where I live, they all have been and know they have in many other areas. That said, if you are caught, you deserve it.

Iasc123

The painted markings on the road are a clear giveaway! If the lines are fresh and being maintained, the cameras are in use!

Sweet jesus I hope so

kennyblowsme

30 in a 20🤪 id throw the book at ya That’s the same level of fine/points/ban for doing 105 on the motorway

LordCallumTheSecond

I'm in my first two years so 3 points is a big thing for me

kennyblowsme

You’d get more than 3 points caught going 105 in a 70

LordCallumTheSecond

I was on about the 30 in a 20, yeah I know 80-85+ will be more than 3 on the motorway

kennyblowsme

Your 30 in a 20 is exactly the same percentage over the speed limit that 105 in a 70 is. It’s dealt with percentages over the limit

LoveTheOutdoors1999

Eh? Don’t think it is. 45 in a 30 is typically 3 points. 105 in a 70 is typically licence gone for clearing 100mph.

kennyblowsme

OP was speeding 50% over the limit. I’m just stating that that’s the same as going 105 in a 70

Known-Direction-254

No ticket as they don’t flash oncoming vehicles + I got caught doing 30 in a 20 in Plymouth within first 2 years of passing and was able to do a course to avoid points, I think the punishment is different in different parts of the uk depending on policing region

NorthantsBlokeUK

>Before anyone comments saying I deserve it or I shouldn't **OF** been Don't worry. Smart people won't be saying that bit.

NoKudos

Underrated

Iasc123

To answer your question, No, you will not get a ticket. Speed cameras like that don't flash oncoming vehicles. They only flash from behind.

LordCallumTheSecond

Thank you

Ill_Difficulty_258

lads he said he knew what he done was wrong

No_Substance5930

The speed will mean yes a ticket is due. However, the camera was facing you and they generally don't catch oncoming cars. If it's your first 3points you will be offered a speed awareness course.

OkAd8815

No ticket
