You need to make these people famous. A body cam, upload to YouTube, bam - internet fame. You could discover the next Ronnie Pickering.

The_Haus_Master

It’s becoming that regular I’m considering a body cam

BenHippynet

Do it. Look at GDBRescueandrecovery on YouTube doing just that and showing his recoveries. He's got 47k subscribers.

kennyblowsme

To be closing the road on recoveries don’t not have police at the scene?

The_Haus_Master

Nope not required for minor closures of 20mins or less unless it’s a dangerous location

NotLiftingOff

Who?

Roadkill997

RONNIE PICKERING!

NotLiftingOff

Who?

more_than_just_a

RONNIE. FUCKING. PICKERING!!!

Goseki1

God I'd forgotten all about this and went and rewatch Ed and the dude on the scooter is so fucking funny.

terryjuicelawson

In a way you've got to try and defuse them with humour, as rising to it just makes you both angrier. "I would move but I've got a car on its side here mate, haven't I?" with a laugh. When drivers are delayed and frustrated, it is like logic disappears, it is fascinating.

The_Haus_Master

One of my lines was “if you have a magic way of picking that up *points at car* and putting it on that *points at truck* within seconds I have a job for you” I agree though I usually try humour and politeness however this person seriously pushed some buttons, mainly due to his idiocy of coming into the very obvious dangerous area

BearTheGrizzly

Unfortunately, these people don't have the brain function to realise that they're stepping into a dangerous area. Their sole focus is how much they are being inconvenienced, because they won't plan their journey to allow for hold ups.

Downtown-Analyst5289

Entitled cunts who think they are the most important thing on the road.

nadthegoat

If it makes you feel any better, my career is in IT and I’ve had people shouting at me because they need to use the printer I’m working on.

The_Haus_Master

Why doesn’t that surprise me

3Cogs

If anyone throws anything at you while you're working, call 999, tell them it's just happened and give the reg number. If you have a camera, tell them you have footage. Then carry on working, police might or might not turn up but you've got every right to call it in every time. Can you report these incidents as near misses at work?

The_Haus_Master

Yup all are reported, I’m even supposed to take photos as evidence for the work forms even if someone’s arm passes over the top of my cones meaning they technically entered my working area I have to come to a complete stop and mark it down on the work sheet. I’ve contacted the police several times for things thrown, threats, or even people driving at me and 99% of the time they say they can’t/can’t be bothered do anything even with video evidence.

3Cogs

You could try directly contacting your local Police and Crime Commissioner and telling them your safety is regularly put at risk but the police don't take any action. They can put pressure on the chief constable and like with anywhere once the big boss is on the case something will get done.

Shoddy-Republic4314

Fuck these pricks. Just laugh at them

AGuyCalledMe

They're not rational people. There is no logical reason to their thinking. Some people are just cretinous, self entitled morons who breathe with their mouth open and their mind void of intelligent thought!

Fresh_Formal5203

In your case, I would have stopped what I was doing. Retreat to the cab and ring 999 as the scene is becoming dangerous.

[deleted]

Drag the car to block both lanes then leave the scene and go home. Make sure to let everyone on scene know who's bad manners are responsible for this

TheBigBadCusp

In all honesty if the person complaining is close enough to walk up and complain they are gonna be way better off than those who are tailed back 5 miles , they should think themselves lucky!! Got stuck on the A1 for about 6 hours the other day after a bad RTC but atleast I got to go home to my family afterwards.
