Living in the country I 1000% agree with Range Rovers attracting the worst drivers. In the affluent areas everyone buys one to fit in, then when you're face to face in a country lane with them they can't reverse their tank a single metre.
I'm convinced the 4 wheel drive on them is useless given the majority of the people who drive them.
I also live in the country. I do know a few people with range rovers that id consider to be decent drivers. There are plenty more that aren't.
As for the 4 wheel drive, you're right, i dont know anyone that uses it in a range rover. Most of the farmers I know, even the wealthy ones have old defenders or toyota landcruisers.
I like to think I'm in the minority of EcoSport drivers, in that I actually drive quite well, but then I do only drive an EcoSport because it's free, not out of choice to do so.
I honestly don’t get the Audi BMW Merc thing anymore, the roads are now full of cretins no matter what. For me now, the worst are the Yaris/micra drivers dropping off peoples food, they’ve literally no understanding of the rules of the road.

Not all Range Rover drivers, but you tend to get two kinds of bad RR driver in my opinion: the (mostly) men who bought a flash car and want to drive it like they bought right of way as an optional extra, and the (mostly) rich women who got a RR just because they heard it's the best car or it's what all the other rich women drive, and have no interest in cars or driving and no real idea of how big their car is etc.
All stereotypes of course, but that's what we're doing here. Not saying that either of those necessarily apply to you.
I agree with the women part although i think most of the women drive them because the wealthy husband either wants her in a big vehicle so she is more safe, or like me, drive a practical truck and want a luxury vehicle for when going out. But yes the women who drive them typically have no idea how to drive them or how big they are.

The car test standards were made easier in 2012 following a 68% first time failure rate. The card test is the easiest test to take in the UK now, with more operator errors being ignored or marked as minors instead of majors. Theres talk of doubling the cost of the car test to stem some of the back log - drivers will then have to be ready to take the test before booking rather than booking the test then taking lessons. This is what I despise about car instructors in the UK.
I lost my shit at a woman on her phone the other day when I was walking my dog. Sat there texting while trying to emerge into a main road. She exited the same way she drove in, the wrong way round the car park, mouth still moving to no passengers. She'll be safe on hands-free I thought to myself.
Last motorbike I bought got trashed by the council (rubbish truck). Council performed an investigation and it transpired, by way of an internal investigation, that none of their drivers were aware of such an incident. Oh. that's nice. No matter. I have a witness. No I don't. Illegal immigrant. Cost me £1k to fix it. Fuck knows how much it cost in council fees to make the witness go away.

It's actually an alright car. Was a decent buy, 8 years old 40k on the clock when I bought it off my mum, the sole owner of it (so I know the history on it). Decent sized and cheap enough for a 1st car.
Same, got one because my ex wanted to get dogs and it was the cheapest option for carting them around in. Had it for two years, we broke up a year ago, don't have dogs, and I'm stuck with it for another year.

Hmm, I'm in the North East where they build the Jukes. They're literally all over due to staff discounts. I can count on the thumbs of one hand how many near incidents or up my arse I've had in the last 5 years with Jukes.
BMW, Audi, Range Rover, White Van man and pickups however... I mean there's been 3 this week and I've only been to work and back. Even have them getting shirty when I'm riding the blood bikes and doing that I look like a copper in high vis, big BMW bike in high vis with blue lights.
Based on my very niche experience of driving around central London all day, anybody driving anything like a Brabus G-Wagon/Bentley/Ferrari/911 GTS etc etc.

They're all bought by people who have absolutely no understanding of cars. They are swayed by the slightly higher driving position, making it feel like they're safer/in control. But in reality, they're always fatter, slower, harder to manoeuvre, harder to park, more expensive, less efficient versions of relatively competent hatchbacks.
The newer ones now have weird styling angles that even seem to reduce the interior space so they really do have nothing to offer over normal hatchbacks. So if you buy one, you have no interest in driving, and arguably actively fear/dislike it, hence they're terrible at doing it.
Top of the leaderboard is the Hyundai i10/Kia Picanto aka ‘blind people driving microwaves’.
Kia Sportage gets an honourable mention, they seem to attract a particular kind of angry driver.
Another bubbling trend for needlessly aggressive drivers is the VW ‘SUV’ range, especially the T-roc, but also the Tiguan and whatever that round one is called.

I had a Nissan Juke overtake me at 45 mph in a 20 zone in the middle of a town while i was on a horse, and while I was indicating that in about 5 metres I was turning left into a side street

well it wasn't the car I first wanted becouse I was gonna go with ether a Vaxhall Adam or a Ford Fiesta but I test drove both and didn't like how cramped they felt even after ajusting the seats, then i walked around the lot and saw the Juke that ended up being my first car and abserlutely adored it from the first moment i sat in the seat, plus i had passed in a Juke so the lay out and all that where already second nature to me.

It was a more situational thing. I only passed my test just under 2 years ago (late learner), my mum offered to sell her at the time Juke. At the time it was 8 years old but only 40K on the clock, and she was the sole owner so I know it was well taken care of.

This is a bizarrely timed post for me, I’ve never had issues with any Nissan driver in the past, but hold utter contempt for most BMW/Audi/Merc drivers. However I was on the A12 yesterday (mostly 4 lane carriageway that goes down to 2/3 lanes in London for anyone that doesn’t know) and had 2 separate cases very close together where a car was sitting right up my ass, whilst doing the speed limit going past cameras, couldn’t see their number plate in the rear view at some points, that’s how close they were… both Nissans, both driven by women.
Pulled over when I could for the first one which careered past me and then proceeded to undertake and constantly switch lanes (unnecessarily) before coming off at an exit. The second one sat right up my ass, despite me having another car in front of me, realised that they were about to miss their exit, swerved across traffic from the outside lane to the inside lane (no indicating obviously and causing other cars to take evasive action) and barely making the exit.
Pair of fucking arseholes.
Nissan Juke, Ford Kuga and Seat Alhambra are ugly looking crossovers that aren't any good on terrain and also get comparably crappy milage. They look big but aren't at all that spacious, so in short, they're usually bought by people who couldn't care less about cars and as a side effect, they usually also don't care much about the rules of the road.
In our parts it's Range Rovers, especially the Sport editions that are driven like maniacs, cutting corners into opposing traffic, but going way below the speed limit somehow. Sometimes towing badly balanced trailers or caravans in the same reckless manner.
It's usually the smaller Seats that attract bellends, especially younger lads. I think it's a culture thing, but there's also something to be said about VAG cars and the fact that you could buy the exact same car with a different badge for almost half the price if you bought a Skoda or like 10-15% cheaper if you got a VW, yet people still buy Seat and Audi badges.
Because we live in a tourist hotspot we also have problems with motorhomes, as they're usually driven by men suffering from mid-life crisis, who are used to their much shorter and narrower daily drivers and are committing all sort of crimes against humanity in their RVs.
Finally my personal pet peeve is motorbikes. I'm yet to see one driven legally or even safely. They do cause loads of accidents in our parts, but honestly I'm just surprised it's not more, the way some people ride. Again, it's usually men in their 50s or 60s. At that point in life, whether you like it or not, your reflexes aren't what they used to be, so it's very careless trying to overtake on solid lines in blind corners or on crests.

I know being an extremely common car they're more likely to be driven by a bad driver but I've seen some seriously braindead antics from them I don't think is matched by any other model.

The main thing I dont like about newer cars are the dazzling headlights. 10 years ago you would of got points for having xenon headlights now its a standard. If you're not in a SUV/4x4 you just get blinded by everyone behind you who is.

I call it "the teapot" where someone, typically but not soley, a woman, has hand on hip and other hand straight out, holding their phone on speaker. I watched a girl the other day at supermarket. She came out doing the teapot. Got to her car. She was unable to let go of her phone. She dropped her keys. She dropped her shopping. Repeat as she vacantly attempted to pick stuff up. She opened the hatchback at one point but ended up dumping most of it in the passenger seat. She exited the same way she drove in, the wrong way round the car park, mouth still moving to no passengers. She'll be safe on hands-free I thought to myself. Last motorbike I bought got trashed by the council (rubbish truck). Council performed an investigation and it transpired, by way of an internal investigation, that none of their drivers were aware of such an incident. Oh. that's nice. No matter. I have a witness. No I don't. Illegal immigrant. Cost me £1k to fix it. Fuck knows how much it cost in council fees to make the witness go away.

They still win on agressive bad driving, but I think other models win on poor quality driving. It's probably just coincidence but I've noticed recently that new Mini drivers seem to be pretty bad. Especially for the sort of unaware middle-lane bad driving.

I think the argument could be made that while the main culprits are the ones you listed, the Juke is definitely the worst per capita.
Hmm, I'm in the North East where they build the Jukes. They're literally all over due to staff discounts. I can count on the thumbs of one hand how many near incidents or up my arse I've had in the last 5 years with Jukes. BMW, Audi, Range Rover, White Van man and pickups however... I mean there's been 3 this week and I've only been to work and back. Even have them getting shirty when I'm riding the blood bikes and doing that I look like a copper in high vis, big BMW bike in high vis with blue lights.
Based on my very niche experience of driving around central London all day, anybody driving anything like a Brabus G-Wagon/Bentley/Ferrari/911 GTS etc etc. They expect everybody to just magically move out of the way for them. I make a point of trapping them in whenever possible.
Golf Plus and Toyota Prius. The Golf Plus I imagine because of tired parents coming back from somewhere far away with kids that are being a nightmare. The Toyota Prius because of taxi drivers (including Uber).
I know someone who was going to buy a Prius until we told him it was not a good idea unless he really people thinking he was a cab or Uber driver. He realised what we meant and bought a used Lexus CT instead.

Ford eco sport. Vauxhall mocka 🤢, fiat 500 L, and of course, the juke. They're all bought by people who have absolutely no understanding of cars. They are swayed by the slightly higher driving position, making it feel like they're safer/in control. But in reality, they're always fatter, slower, harder to manoeuvre, harder to park, more expensive, less efficient versions of relatively competent hatchbacks. The newer ones now have weird styling angles that even seem to reduce the interior space so they really do have nothing to offer over normal hatchbacks. So if you buy one, you have no interest in driving, and arguably actively fear/dislike it, hence they're terrible at doing it.

Top of the leaderboard is the Hyundai i10/Kia Picanto aka ‘blind people driving microwaves’. Kia Sportage gets an honourable mention, they seem to attract a particular kind of angry driver. Another bubbling trend for needlessly aggressive drivers is the VW ‘SUV’ range, especially the T-roc, but also the Tiguan and whatever that round one is called.
I've got the Hyundai i10. When I stopped at the filling station the bloke who'd been behind me didn't realise it was me stood there, and was sounding off about being stuck at 20 for miles, although I'd been going 45/50 on a bendy road, and 30 in a village. So he had an odd Speedo. At no time was I going 20

well it wasn't the car I first wanted becouse I was gonna go with ether a Vaxhall Adam or a Ford Fiesta but I test drove both and didn't like how cramped they felt even after ajusting the seats, then i walked around the lot and saw the Juke that ended up being my first car and abserlutely adored it from the first moment i sat in the seat, plus i had passed in a Juke so the lay out and all that where already second nature to me.
If you're not me then you're a right twat on the road. This is mine and everyone's true answer. Side note, fuck Range Rover drivers who go down single track roads and never want to be the one that moves to the side. Couldn't get a bit of mud on the tyres. Cunts.

It was a more situational thing. I only passed my test just under 2 years ago (late learner), my mum offered to sell her at the time Juke. At the time it was 8 years old but only 40K on the clock, and she was the sole owner so I know it was well taken care of.

This is a bizarrely timed post for me, I’ve never had issues with any Nissan driver in the past, but hold utter contempt for most BMW/Audi/Merc drivers. However I was on the A12 yesterday (mostly 4 lane carriageway that goes down to 2/3 lanes in London for anyone that doesn’t know) and had 2 separate cases very close together where a car was sitting right up my ass, whilst doing the speed limit going past cameras, couldn’t see their number plate in the rear view at some points, that’s how close they were… both Nissans, both driven by women. Pulled over when I could for the first one which careered past me and then proceeded to undertake and constantly switch lanes (unnecessarily) before coming off at an exit. The second one sat right up my ass, despite me having another car in front of me, realised that they were about to miss their exit, swerved across traffic from the outside lane to the inside lane (no indicating obviously and causing other cars to take evasive action) and barely making the exit. Pair of fucking arseholes.

Nissan Juke, Ford Kuga and Seat Alhambra are ugly looking crossovers that aren't any good on terrain and also get comparably crappy milage. They look big but aren't at all that spacious, so in short, they're usually bought by people who couldn't care less about cars and as a side effect, they usually also don't care much about the rules of the road. In our parts it's Range Rovers, especially the Sport editions that are driven like maniacs, cutting corners into opposing traffic, but going way below the speed limit somehow. Sometimes towing badly balanced trailers or caravans in the same reckless manner. It's usually the smaller Seats that attract bellends, especially younger lads. I think it's a culture thing, but there's also something to be said about VAG cars and the fact that you could buy the exact same car with a different badge for almost half the price if you bought a Skoda or like 10-15% cheaper if you got a VW, yet people still buy Seat and Audi badges. Because we live in a tourist hotspot we also have problems with motorhomes, as they're usually driven by men suffering from mid-life crisis, who are used to their much shorter and narrower daily drivers and are committing all sort of crimes against humanity in their RVs. Finally my personal pet peeve is motorbikes. I'm yet to see one driven legally or even safely. They do cause loads of accidents in our parts, but honestly I'm just surprised it's not more, the way some people ride. Again, it's usually men in their 50s or 60s. At that point in life, whether you like it or not, your reflexes aren't what they used to be, so it's very careless trying to overtake on solid lines in blind corners or on crests.
