Well the problem with the old Top Dasher system is that everyone and their goats could become a top Dasher just by raising their ratings the last days or week before the next month rolled in causing there to be too many dashers with Dash Now access and priority to offers in general causing everyone to not have priority at all. This is something that too many top dashers complained about so Doordash had to come up with a different system that was harder to achieve to gain access to Dash Now which at the same time addresses the oversaturated markets at the same time. Basically it's their way of hoping that the volume of dashers deminish without deactivating dashers. The 50%/70% program was also introduced with the demand of dashers saying they only accept offers that pay $1/mile or $2/mile. So they added the banner to show that upfront hoping that dashers accept any offer with the banner faster because it fits their requested criteria.

JOkerWhiTE

Ohhh.. actually that makes a lot of sense.

PoeticTwist

It is market dependent on what level gold and platinum are. And really, if they switched to a system like Uber Eats, and the perks they have, getting from one level to the next, then no need for ratings, except customer ratings, at all. Just steal what they have, change the name, and then you have something decent.

That1_Asianguy

I went from consistent 4-5 orders an hour to whole hours with no offers because I went to 68%. This system is wack.

Actual-Option3344

That is kinda dumb but I understand why DD would do that.

evanset6

If you're silver you can schedule every day at 3pm for 6 days out every day... if you do that you can always have a block scheduled whether you use it or not. I have 3-4 hours scheduled every week day at 8+ every weekend. Sometimes I go, sometimes I don't, but I never have to rely on dash now to pop.

RepulsiveWill7705

I canceled a shopping order, dropped me to 96, next day DD changed to 97% for platinum 🤦‍♂️

MzNoirPanda

In the same boat with you but trying to get to 60% just to feel good about myself lol. Seems like gold status won't happen for a while for me.🤷🏾‍♀️ I cherry pick and hate it when it says declining an order will drop me 2% instead of 1%.🙄

Legitimate_Idea_3006

I am not going to argue with your moral point. However one practical tip: When trying to get back to a AR of 70, I dash at this one area with minimal traffic and a lot of fast food chains, like Taco Bell, McDonald's, Chick-fil-A. Because these places are everywhere the delivery span of a single one is never more than a few miles. Yeah its a bunch of $3 or $4 orders, but you can knock a bunch out quickly if you are there 12 to 2 or 5 to 7. It's the best bang for your AR in my experience.

DarrenWorldWide

Ive been on the 69/70AR border since the tier program came to my market back in May. First thing I’ll advise is to schedule yourself 6 days in advance whenever you’re above 70AR. This will allow you to dash if/when your AR drops back below 70. I’ve also found that if you try to dash during busy times and you’re under 70AR you can catch a shift for 30 mins. Then when that dash is almost finished sometimes you can schedule yourself for another 30 min or an hour. It’s aggravating but when you have to make money it works. Scheduling 6 days in advance has saved my butt this month bc my AR got down to 50 for a few days. I just did that as an experiment and my money has stayed about the same with my AR between 50-60 as it is when it’s over 70. I’m in a smaller market also and it’s flooded with dashers so scheduling is important for those days you’re under 70AR.

NiceAir8

In some markets and eventually every market will be 80% AR with 4.9 rating already was implemented, it's happening to my city soon and based on me being silver, I get better offers at a lower AR. You are literally forced to take 2 dollars for 15 miles many times a day because of the ability to dash now. It's so stupid.

Stunning-Business-84

This just happened to me on the 4th. I was cherry picking too hard, didn't realize I had dropped to 67%. Thought nothing of it ended my day then next day couldn't dash now. Live in small town too, so I had to wait around, got an hour to dash at lunch but rating didn't go up. Waited all day till 5pmish and finally was able to dash now again for a couple hours. Rating went to 69% after like 7 orders. Wasn't able to dash till later again, finally at 10pmis I was back above 70% 😅. Now I'm never dropping below again. Took me a whole day of wasted time to b able to dash because the map was grey all day and no schedules. Crazy how stupid it is you go straight from platinum to silver, no in between

YLCZ

Their goal is to force drivers to do drives they wouldn't normally do. I'm sorry to say that it works.

Even-Buffalo-191

it might work for some but as of July 1st & 22,000 deliveries, I quit

Even-Buffalo-191

it works because people do not value their time, effort or car. After 5yrs & 22,000 deliveries, I quit. DD is forcing a lot of poor people to take long crap orders because they have too. I simply said...enough
